general timeshare question

i stayed at Marriotts Beach Place towers in Ft Lauderdale,FL in a 2x2 villa.
It seemed so huge, in comparison to my stay at beach Club villa in a 2x2 Villa.

I am not complaining, about Beach Club Villa, so please do not flame me.

I just would like to know, from those of that you have stayed in many timeshares, including Marriott, Hilton, Hyatt,Starwood and DIsney.

Are the BCV,BWV,WL-2x2 Villas, smaller than the average 2x2 Villa in the timeshare world.

Yes, at approximately 1,072 square feet, a 2BR/2BA condo at BWV, VWL, BCV, or SSR is smaller than most 2BR/2BA condos Marriott Vacation Clubs.

A 2BR/2BA condo at Marriott's BeachPlace Towers in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, is 1,325 square feet.

Some Marriotts have larger condos than BeachPlace Towers... an amazing 1,650 square feet for a 2BR/2BA condo at Marriott's Desert Springs Villas in Palm Desert, California.

Some Marriotts have smaller condos than BeachPlace Towers... 1,238 square feet for a 2BR/2BA condo at Marriott's Newport Coast Villas in Newport Coast, California.

As far as I know, the smallest 2BA/2BR Marriott condos are at Marriott's Waiohai Beach Club on Poipu Beach, Hawaii — just 1,003 square feet.

Timeshares vary dramatically in size. The Marriott's vary signficantly as well. Harbour Pointe has 2 Br units as small as 909 sq ft. Grande Ocean is 1380. OKW is more typical size and the rest of the DVC 2 BR units and smaller are somewhat below what I'd consider industry standards. OTOH, they are laid out pretty well so it isn't that much of an issue. 2 BR units in general aren't really designed for 8 people even for those that technically sleep 8 and DVC is no exception.

Some timeshares in urban locations have smaller rooms. That's what I think of whenever I think of the DVC condos (except OKW). The developer wants to get the most revenue from highly desirable and costly real estate. They don't have sprawling grounds but are more conveniently located. It's a trade-off.
