Happened to stumble upon this ahead of release…
https://thedirect.com/article/star-wars-mandoverse-saga
This article suggests Dave Filoni's Mandoverse is over. This makes some sense, despite the $100s of Millions invested into these projects. It's all too small.
I liked the series better when it was case/mission of the week and I wasn't expected to have seen every animated series. It's fine to have characters make random cameos or be in the background, but I was definitely expected to know characters that I had never seen before. The whole appeal of The Mandalorian, for me, was that it was mostly a standalone story. I liked seeing the little bits about the state of the galaxy post Return of the Jedi, but IMO, this was not the story or character on which to center a big, galaxy-spanning conflict.

The timing of releasing streaming data for Star Wars from May 4, 2025 and all of 2025 on May 4, 2026? Almost like May 4th is a day that Star Wars fans celebrate for some reasonVery interesting data, what don’t you see in the top 10 for minutes streamed? Also the timing of Nielsen releasing this data not is also quite interesting. View attachment 1070171
Can you find where this data was released in prior years? Why not?The timing of releasing streaming data for Star Wars from May 4, 2025 and all of 2025 on May 4, 2026? Almost like May 4th is a day that Star Wars fans celebrate for some reason
Marketing and engagement farming with a brand that has its first movie release post growth of D+Can you find where this data was released in prior years? Why not?
Well that was a frustrating and thoroughly aggravating experience. DH joined the queue for Star Wars Celebration tickets right at 2PM CST (I was working, couldn't really do it.) Jedi Master tickets were gone in an hour, but I couldnt' really afford that . Multi-day and single day passes for Friday/Saturday were sold out in under 2.5 hours. By the time he could get his turn to buy, they only had Thurs, and Sun left....This would've been just my DD and me going, so I wasn't really wanting to pay to fly to LA, hotels, etc. just for those days.....what a bummer. I guess we could've just done Sunday, but that's a lot of hassle for 1 day. They allowed up to 20 tickets per person, and there are already scalpers peddling on ticket resale sites, and ebay, etc. I"m hoping they'll have some sort of other release, or something, but who knows.....
On a positive note....Maul was incredible. We'd been on our dream trip to London for the past 2 weeks, and had missed episodes 5-8, caught up on those Sunday, and then ready for Maul Monday. and it was awesome.
I watched second half of Andor, season 1, on the flight home. When the plane was taking off, I was playing the episode , scene where Andor and the Aldhani group are taking off, through the Eye. That was cool, distracted me during all of that. Then I started with Nobody's Listening and watched the rest. It's such an incredible show. They had all of the 9 Skywalker saga movies. I watched the Darth Maul scenes at the end of TPM, some parts of AOTC, and ESB, and an episode of Mandalorian. They only offered a few episodes/partial seasons for most things. Anyway, also bought some British snack food w Mandalorian/Grogu on the bag, so that was fun.
Haven't gotten tickets yet for the movie, need to decide when we can all go.
Related to ticket scalping- Banana Ball is coming to my area this summer, and it’s been heartening to see the reaction to people trying to sell their tickets for above face value. Someone will post that they have two tickets well above list price ($40-60 per ticket), and then their post will get flooded with comments about how they’re scalping and there’s an alternate way for people to get tickets. (Banana Ball rolled out a Fans First marketplace- you can’t list your tickets about list price.) And if you’re caught selling your tickets for more than list price, Banana Ball will cancel your account.Well that was a frustrating and thoroughly aggravating experience.
