Not sure if this is allowed, so if not please delete. Since this is not a rent post, not sure where this where to ask this question.

I was reading a post on another thread about how much more valuable points from VGC are and that you would never use them to stay at SSR.

So, I was curious to those that rent, what you think are the value of the different points in Florida and California?

Are resorts more valuable than others? Would you want to use certain points more often to rent versus others? Which resorts tend have the best value in your minds?

I don’t rent often, but do know that when I rent my BCV points they are easier to rent out than my BLT points. So, I would say the BCV points are more valuable in that sense.

I'm not sure that is completely true, except during the home resort 11month - 7 month booking priority window, since at 7 months points are points no matter what resort they are from.

To be sure, some resorts are more popular, and will rent faster than others. But as far being more valuable, from a rental stand point, most people will not pay a premium per point for a resort once the 7 month window hits, except perhaps at the Disneyland locations.

The way I usually see this is in the context of "what do I buy".

VGC points are much more expensive to buy than anything else. So it does not make sense to buy them unless you will primarily use them at VGC.

Point value is in some ways related to how difficult it is to get a reservation at a particular resort. That's where the home resort advantage is valuable. If a resort is readily available at the 7 month window, there is no need to pay a premium for points to reserve in the 7-11 month window.
