General Public Discounts Gone?

We are looking at going early January, been refreshing the special offers page daily.

Today, 2022 discounts were posted for annual passholders, which we are not. We are also not military or DVC owners.

What got me a little more concerned was when you try and book a room, and you are not logged in, there is a statement I've never seen before:

Anyone else see this as a sign that general public discounts might not come back?

@jalpert I'm not sure I would expect any discounts, the point of these price hikes and things like Genie++ was to deter guests and bring in more revenue. Discounts and free dining seem to go against that. Disney will release discounts when and if they need more butts in beds.

Where are the 2022 discounts for APs? I haven’t seen anything but would love to. So far all I see is two weeks between Thanksgiving and Xmas.

Maybe discounts are gone forever but I think it’s too soon to say. For now a lot of people are desperate to travel and Disney wants to squeeze every possible dollar out of them. I do believe discounts will be back but it might take some time. As domestic gets less interested in the full price/lower service offerings available now, international- specifically EU & Brazil- will pick up the slack for a bit since they are being allowed back in come Nov.

The only AP discount I've seen is for Aulani. We are also looking for any discounts for January.

I think discounts will be slim in 2022 and maybe into 2023. Once revenge travel settles out though and demand stabilizes, discounts will probably pick back up.
