General Public Discount Question

I called this morning to apply the new General Public discount to my reservation. I was only able to apply it to one night. I am staying 12/25 through 1/1 and they only applied the discount on 12/25. In the past, as long as you checked in by the end date of the discount offer, they applied the discount to the entire stay. Did they change this or was the CM I spoke with incorrect?

That only applies to package promos. room only is strictly for the days listed.

Really? This is the first time this happened. I have made many room only reservations in the past for check-in on the the last day of the discount offer and have always had it apply for my entire stay. I rarely make a package reservation as I am a AP holder.

Yep..only applies to days stated. I am AP also and ran into that this past April..only days listed

In past years, that was how AP discounts worked. In fact up until a couple years ago the season you were in would carry over as well. If you were in Value and it changed to someother season during your stay you got the entire trip at Value rates.

Well, if you can't get any other discount, you can book the giftcard offer (includes a 2 day ticket pp though but you can keep them and use them in the future) For FD you would have to have the first day of stay Dec 21. If you could do that it would be the best thing out there now. Maybe some VISA discounts will come out or a PIN. Sometimes these will continue as long as you start by the end date. There was a VIsa room only discount the beginnning of the year that did continue past the end date during Feb. The only discount currently that you can get is the free giftcard, but then you lose the first day at a discount and have to buy the tickets (you could use the tickets in the future for a new AP) Kind of a bad week for discounts.

This is true. Your rate for the entire stay was based on check in day rates. Must be things changed. Good to know.

It changed in 2009. Each day of a room only is calculated individually.

Re-book as package with 1 day base ticket. Apply the base ticket to your AP renewal.

I just renewed my AP's two weeks ago. If I book a 1 day base ticket package on the last day the discount is offered, the discount will apply to the entire stay. Correct? Since I have AP's I'm good? I just have to eat a 1 day base ticket. Correct?

Here's a question? My coworker is going from 12/26-1/6. Can she apply FD to part of her stay for the dates that qualify 1/1-1/5 and pay for the DDP for the other dates?

I just called. They said I would have to purchase a base ticket for everyone in the room. It came out to be $300 more tan what I am currently paying.

She would have to have two separate reservations, one for her stay from 12/26-12/31 and one from 1/1-1/5, and buy the required tickets for each part of her stay (1 day base for the former, and 2 day base for the latter).

You must check in on an available day to get the promotion at all.
