General Feeling of DVC membership

An excellent thread. Like many other owners, I love the ability to stay in deluxe resorts I would never pay cash for (usually 3-4 nights covers my MF). With 170 pts my DD & I can visit WDW & DL each year. Some years I can plan in advance; this year less than 60 days and was able to get WLV for all but the last night. We buy 10 day non-expiring passes w/ waterparks & get 3 trips out of them (plus enough waterparks for even more future trips-very cheap add-on). Knowing we'll be back takes the pressure off of parks and we love to spend time @ our resort or pool hopping; makes it much more relaxing. Our new tradition is spending our last full day hitting all 4 parks-a long, crazy, fun day!

I am happy with my membership.

However, I realize I bought a timeshare not "Disney's undying love" and that all they really owe me is a place to stay. I see a lot of "well I paid thousands of dollars and ....." IF that sentence EVER comes out of your mouth (or onto a keyboard) then you are going to be unhappy. Disney has your money, they don't have to bribe you to come back, they don't owe you "free dining", a guranateed room next week at GCV, a front of the line pass, or really anything except lodging within the rules of the contract you signed.

I am a late booker. I don't have fits or complain when I can't get BCV. I am thrilled if there is anything out there for me (I realize that the risk of late booking is that I may be staying at the Marriott Courtyard )

Well, DH and I were talking earlier today about an August 2015 trip to WDW and Universal (or Thanksgiving week 2015...as DH would prefer). We were disagreeing about many things and I stopped, looked at him and said "wait, we have 2 years to figure this out"...LOL!!!
