General Dining Questions

Hi Everyone!

My first trip to Disney was in Sept 09! I loved it so much that I booked another trip for Sept 10 (I can't wait....I have a LONG wait ahead of me).

Anyway I have some general questions about dining that I have seemed to forgotten, so hopefully someone may be able to answer these for me.

1. I know that the reservations for dining can be made 180 days a head of time. Does anyone know where the calculator is that will tell me what day I can make my reservations? (We will be arriving on Sept 10th)

2. Last year, I remember it being crazy on the 90th day...getting up early just to be one of the first callers and not get stuck waiting for hours before finally speaking with someone. Now that its 180 days out...do you think it will be the same thing all over again? I hope not!

3. Are more people using the online reservations now instead of calling in? Are you finding that to be faster? If so, does anyone know what time you can start making reservations on your date (is it 7am just like the phone line)?

4. Finally...I am staying for 6 nights, but I only purchased 5 day ticket, does this mean that I have 6TS or only 5TS? Didn't know if it went by how many days you had tickets for or how many nights at the hotel.

Thanks to anyone who can answer these questions. I look forward to the answers so I can start planning - YAY!

i always book online now and like it 100% better! ;)

it goes by nights of stay, so you should have 6!

love the online booking. It is awesome! I made our ADR's last Sun for our trip in June, it was crazy how much less stressful than last year. It was almost disappointing, didn't quite have the elation that I did last year, getting up early, feeling euphoria over getting what I wanted. However, much, much, much easier.

I got up in October to make my January ressies at 90 days. My 90days was the DAY BEFORE it went to 180, so I anticipated the great online ressie crash of 09! :lmao:

Not only did I get up, but I was camping in the mountains, and it was COLD. I got up at 5 and drove to the "mgr cabin" so I could sit outside in the car and leach off of the wifi connection. I pulled up my bookmarked site and waited. And waited. And waited.

BAM!!! 6 oclock and I had my Cindy's Royal Table ressie!
LOVE LOVE LOVE Online Ressies!

ANd the site starts taking them at 6 am EST, an hour before the phones! :thumbsup2

I've made ressies through calling and online. Online is the way to go!!! :thumbsup2 As for craziness at 180 versus 90, I don't think you'll have as much trouble. Not everyone is crazy advance planners like we all are. That being said, if they announce free dining in September before your window opens then all bets are off and I suspect yet another free for all.
