RIV - Highlights. Work done associated with CAF is not part of dues…all gratutious transfers are currently exempt from the fee. if you want copies of minutes once approved, just request them…June 10th minutes approved today…question regarding order of bus stops, more staff at quiet pool to oversee things and people not guests using the Voyager Lounge. Moonlight Magic ticket distribution and people giving away.

One asked for a better explanation of why housekeeping and other expenses went up…and staffing and salaries seemed to be driving the cost

Nothing asked about renting or walking/booking rules.

VGF- Bus service and housekeeping were the two big topics. Buses - Some would like to see it not be after Poly or consider more during busy times…one owner didn’t know we pay a share of it…for housekeeping, not always consistent, but one asked about changing to daily..others said wouldn’t want to pay more for it, and I asked about a survey to members to see there thoughts.

Added: some owners expressed unhappiness about the Perch Bar and its impact on the lobby.

They allowed two 15 minute Q an: A. One for general questions and one for budget related one.

There were about 40 owners at each. My questions related to the CAF…confirming it wasn’t in the budget…and that gratuitous transfers don’t incur the fee, even if a parent transfers to child and parent no longer is an owner.

The board only answers questions asked so if a topic isn’t brought up, no answers are given.

I did get a chance to talk to a few DVC reps after, including one who was my contact last year when I asked all my questions and clarifications about things so as I predicted, then know me well!!

I got the opportunity to meet Paul today and he will have info out about the meetings.

For anyone who attends, different resorts, please get me info so I can update general info for people

Refurbished DVC rooms are coming to Animal Kingdom Lodge – Kidani Village starting Dec. 12th!

This is the first wave of a full hard goods refresh, with updates running through 2026. New Murphy beds are confirmed — but Disney says they’re working to preserve the charm Members love.

I was at the Riviera meeting and asked questions regarding the budget that were not answered subject to the Ms Hill the treasurer of DVC getting back to me. She did at a later meeting. She was very nice to talk to and I was impressed by the speed of here response.

I asked about a 23% increase in front desk fees. She told me that the category of Admin and Front Desk also includes the recouping of credit card fees. When a member charges their annual dues with a credit card, we all pay the transaction fees in our dues. I did verify that fees for loan payments with credit card are paid by Disney.

This cost may be something worthy of shifting to individual members. She did not give me any real world numbers, but she cited the expense as one reason for increases at the Riviera in that category.

I had other questions that I’ll post the answers to when I learn them.

I wonder if there is a way Disney can tell if a gift card has been “discounted” when sold. I wonder if DVC branch of Disney would take the hit.

My question would be why did credit cards get suddenly more expensive?
Or is this a cost that Disney is now passing onto the membership they didn’t before?

it could also be that Disney stopped people being able to front load monthly dues payments with giftcards.

Hmmm. That is interesting. You wouldn’t think the percentage of owners paying their dues with credit cards would change very much from year to year. Could the change to auto-pay/gift cards cause a large shift? I suppose that is plausible. And, if so, then why did they implement the policy in the first place? I think gift card accounting can get a little weird in terms of not being able to recognize the revenue from gift card sales until the card is used. And, not sure how it works in terms of inter company accounting from one division to another. Could be some weird internal pressures around that stuff.

Don’t forget more than one complaint about the lobby bar. Imagine the complaints if the tree hadn’t fit!

WELLLLL they say they read these boards. They made a change so that now many more people will be paying by credit card. There were a substantial amount of members who paid monthly by gift card.
