Hi,
Going to WDW 4/12-24th on SW. Never thought my flights would go down being it is Easter week.
Happened to look last week and saved 188 dollars by rebooking 2x in 1 day.
Later that day the flight went up.

Just looked today a few days later and everything went up again....Cheapest flight is 309.... i pd 210.

Only flights available really are the $309 flights.....i have seen this before and then all of a sudden they are available and for a cheaper rate...Good thing I was watching.

Any experienced SW'ers.....Do you think it will go down again. It has gone up and down 2x in last week:confused3
Thanks
Kerri

I am not going to be any help to you, but wanted to sympathize...I worked all last week to get our group to make a booking because the rates were so great and then when we went in this weekd to book, they were way up, so now I feel like a SW stalker hoping they will go down again. Good luck!

Sometimes they do...sometimes they don't...I know that the flights I've been looking at lately are sky high, no pun intended. :)Ugh. Just keep watching!

From my experience, once a flight hits $300, it's probably fully booked.

They are willing to book people for $300 because they can offer to bump volunteers to another flight, which doesn't cost the company that much (just space on an otherwise available flight).

Hi Kerri,
The fares have been all over the map from not avail. to under $100 and everywhere in between. I have had the same issues with March fortunatly just caught our fare just under $100 ow. We are using Awards to fly out. What do you think of the new RR system or the New TTF rules I think they will make things harder on pople who don't fly for a living. Have a great trip.

Fares went down from last night???? It is nuts.

I have a 188 credit to use....DH might meet us for Easter weekend and fly home with us. I have to book before the 24th? I think or I can't use the credit for him.....How annoying. As it was I had to use it before Sept....And I just got the SW credit card for the free flight.

Somehow all these savings cost me money:rotfl:
Happy planning
Kerri

Was trying to book a flight for DH this morning.....Easter flight home....was at 251....up from the 211 I pd week before.

I couldnt finish transaction....didn't realize you couldn't use all credits(limit of 3) and I had to wind up booking 2 one ways.

Tonight when I came home....same flight was 309....:scared1: Went to book it....hey he wants to come right.

Well as I click on it says fare unavailable and new fare is 312....:eek: Come ON!!!!

Sure enough I go back and fares have gone up....312 and 332 for top shelf:rotfl2:

One year when checking for a flight a only put in 1 person instead of 4. I was ecstatic only $49.00 up & $49.00 back. When I noticed I only put in 1 person I went back and changed it to 4. To my surprise they were now $89.00 per leg. I ended up booking 2 @ $49 and 2 @ $59.00.
Some advise, check the difference on different numbers and alway book each leg separate. You can sometimes catch a Ding or a cheaper flight on only one leg.
Southwest will always give you a credit if you find a cheaper price so book the flight you want as soon as you can and hope they go down.

Good idea...In fact yesterday morning when I went to book him the 251 flight....it was only available for 1...when I put 3 to check my airfare I already purchased....it was showing 309.
By that night they made a "new fare" of 312:headache:

The internet fares for Easter were sold out quick with only the 309 seats left.....i happened to look last week and went down a lot got my credit....and now plane looks full again:confused3
Thanks:goodvibes

I noticed the same thing this morning...I've been waiting to book 5/17 ISP to MCO..hubby is going on a golf trip...yesterday the early flight was $113...this morning $99...

Just checked our fares for May 19-24 and they went down! I changed the flights and now have a $76 credit to use for our late Sept. trip. No change fees are great and if we decide to skip the May trip I can just use all the credits for Sept. :woohoo:

I know awesome.....I swear though everytime SW saves me money it costs me more making sure I use it:lmao::rolleyes1

Sounds like I should wait a few weeks to book our early June flight. I have a $90 credit but current SW fairs are a whopping $400+ for PHX-MCO.

Add me to the Southwest Stalkers. I check everyday and have saved us about $200 just this year. A few weeks ago my DH says he has to fly to Tampa for business. If I can get a good flight do I want to come along.... well of course I do!

Getting on the site the flights were 109 each way on Monday. I say let me think about it. Next day is Tuesday (when they usually change prices) DH has to book through travel company at work. He calls say these are the flights I am on. Great. look them up and now some flights are 99 but I have to fly on different flights because his flights both went up to 181.00 WHILE I WAS looking! Bummed, couldn't justify paying that difference. Call him back and say Sorry can't go. While I am talking to him I refresh the screen. His outbound flight drops to 79.00 and the flight just before him on the return home drops to 69.00. This is all in a matter of less than five minutes. I go ahead and book. I figure I can take the flight before him and wait at the airport for him, just an hour difference. But of course I keep stalking. His flight goes up to 302.00 and I think no way, this flight is booked good (this is over MLK weekend). Well I checked every day and about a week later his return flight drops to 69.00 and I was able to get on his flight for no difference in price. It went from 302 to 69!!! So it can change and drastically.

I LOVE SOUTHWEST!!

How many weeks out are you all finding the best rates on SW? I have over 4 months before my trip but trying to decide when to book.

I think it can be anytime unfortunately. I just got flights for Jan 15 -18 (MLK weekend) on January 4th. Less than two weeks away and a holiday weekend and I got both flights under 79.00. But it can vary so much. I would check everday and I would especially check on Tues and Fridays when they usually change fares, although as this posts mentions they have been changing daily if not hourly! Good luck!
