Geen Yight - She's Out of Sight: A Trip of Leaps and Bounds

These are the most excitting days....the ones right before a trip!

3 1/2 sleeps to go!!! :dance3:

So fun to have the "tootcase" packed. :thumbsup2

I went and looked at the DTD hotels just to see.
The Hilton has DTD view rooms. I'm not sure if it's worth it for $200+....it would be very cool to see though. ;)

I'm guessing you watched the ME video on "you tube".... I don't know if I want to look or save it for the experience.....when I take it for the first time.

:rotfl2:...Japanese WalMart....:rotfl2: I'll never look at it the same way again!!! :rotfl2:

Cute pic of Bella coloring. The Duffy cutout makes a great little souvienier! You could start a collection!

You're so close!! Friday will come fast!

I didn't do a thing this weekend for the trip, since we had family in town - so this week will be busy!!! One week from today I'll be waking up in our rental home, taking an early morning swim, or reading as I enjoy my morning coffee. Bliss. :)

And of course, 4th of July dinner with the Jill & MeMom group!!!

Hi! We're back from our week in the Keys. We had some "just-the-four-of-us time" and some "in-laws time" and a lot of "great-friends time" - and it was all a wonderful, relaxing and very fun time! :cloud9: The girls each caught their first fish, I caught one, too, and our friends' DS6 caught a small nurse shark! I didn't make the Coco Lopez cake, though there was plenty of that on hand, but I do plan to make it before summer's over (which is when, exactly, in So. Fla?  ). I'm glad you enjoyed your palm trees pic, MeMom! :goodvibes I was sitting there watching the girls in the pool and actually noticed how nice the palms were and thought you might enjoy them, too. I don't usually stop to notice them...they're all around us here and I guess I take them for granted.

Well, I'm finally all caught up here, and not a moment too soon...didn't want to miss the send-off party! :cheer2: Can't wait to follow along on fb and I'll be glad to receive any pics you want to send my way.

Those F&G pics are just so beautiful...I never get tired of looking at Epcot at "normal" times of year, (I've been known to say "my eyes are happy" a time or two while wandering about there) but during F&G...just breathtaking! Brooklynn sure does give her friends the best names! :cutie: Bella coloring is just too cute!! I always wonder about those Sharpies, though...not sure permanent marker is the BEST choice for kids...

Happy getting closer to Disney day! I just know these are such exciting times! I can't wait to follow along as we are driving home from Chicago....

It's almost time!!!! How exciting!! :hyper::jumping1::hyper:

One of those mingos flew home to keep me company in Upstate NY :thumbsup2 Although now I wish I saw that "Welcome" rock too!! I had the mingo and a Mickey and Minnie statue shipped and it wasn't too crazy for the charges. They make me smile and that is the important part ;)

Ohhhh the waiters in Via :rolleyes1 You MUST go inside for a meal someday...and wear a birthday button...or borrow someones!!! It will be worth it to have them come to serenade you :lovestruc Oh and the pizza is good too

Oh goodness, stopping in real quick...My dad sent me a msg saying there was a fire in my state. I thought he was talking about Wisconsin but he was talking about my home state. He told me a fire started on 192 last night around 11 pm and as of this moment it still hasn't been put out. I searched Google and found this article. http://www.fireengineering.com/inde...ng.incidents.2011.06.fire-burns_hotel_in.html The fire started in a hotel and its so bad they had to shut down 192 and Reedy Creek Blvd. :sad2:

Hi there!

First off, Hooray for single digits!!!

:banana::banana::banana:

Secondly, Kay certainly seems to talk in a stream of consciousness.....not necessarily a good thing!! :lmao::lmao:

Thirdly, Bella's sweet little face while she's coloring, so adorable!:cutie:

:cool1: Y'alls trip is so close! Have a great time! I leave for a week at the beach on Saturday so I'll try to check in on Facebook! Safe travels! :littleangel:

Posting from manyyyyy pages back:

The weather was perfect, the wind was blowing the palm fronds, and the water was lapping on the shore. The view was gorgeous. My sweet four year old granddaughter was writing in the sand, occasionally stopping to chase a seagull or just float around the beach. I was getting to spend time talking with a good friend who I rarely see here at home.

Except for the fact that Jill wasn't in the beach chair on the other side and Bella wasn't following Brooklynn, it was just one of those perfect moments in time. Just as I am listening now to the sounds of the boats going by (on the webcam), I was listening to the same that day - in person. I so needed to be away from the stresses of school, and being here enjoying this nothingness combined with this beauty was just glorious.

I LOVE THIS! :yay: This is what vacation, a Disney vacation, is all about. What a perfect moment.

I think some our DIS friends crave these things.

I may, or may not have a box in my cabinet currently...:rolleyes1 I'm honestly surprised we still have some and haven't plowed through them already! ;)

Your trip is SO CLOSE! I'm excited for you all!!!!!!!!

I would love to go back during the F&G festival again too. Even though I spent a fair amount of time at Epcot, I still feel like I didn't pay it enough attention. I love the Japanese store though and do tend to spend a but of time in it looking at everything! I think this year I finally need to "pick a pearl" I bet Bella and Brooklyn's bears were amazing works of art! :)

I love the video of Brooklyn dancing, so sweet. It won't be long now and you will be head to Alabama and then on to your Happy Place. Are you wiling to pick a couple of things up for me? I have a little list if you wouldn't mind. :goodvibes

No, they don't, but it would be a happening place if they did. Our families are always in on anything that is free. I'm fine with that for those who are in need, but it aggravates me when they get free breakfast, lunch, field trips, backpacks and supplies, SSA clothes, and anything else, and they claim they can't buy their kids little things while they have their nails done, expensive jackets and tennis shoes, piercings and tattoos, and such. Our school does have an added free fruit/vegetable program for the kids. They get one fruit or vegetable at the end of every day. You can imagine that having all of your kids eating breakfast, lunch, and an afternoon snack must help them tremendously on their food bill. I'd just like to see them use their savings for more practical things than fancy nails and such, but that's just my opinion.

We have the summer lunch program in our town. Any child can go get lunch for free without any proof of need. In the state of Iowa, they recently ruled that the schools cannot ask parents for money for anything outside of a "registration" fee. No book rental, no lab or equipment fees and no field trip fees. This of course means for everyone, despite the fact lots of parents would be willing to help out with expenses to give our kids some additional things. Kind of sad really.

The one that truly aggrivates me is the drivers ed...since it is not officially a school thing, they charge several hundered dollars...unless you are free/reduced lunch, then there is no charge. Um, what?!?! Since when is drivers ed a necessity? So those who can afford end up paying footing the bill for those who "can't". If you can't afford drivers ed, you probably can't afford a vehicle so therefore it should be a non-issue IMO!

I hear ya! Frustrates my SIL to no end when a parent can afford a $4 pack of cigarettes, but can't get their kid some crayons

Love the pictures from the Japanese Wal-Mart, as our Segway tour guide so affectionately called it, lol!

I can't blame the kids, but unfortunately, they are growing up learning from this, and so many of them will be in the 'gimme, gimme, gimme' camp, too, as they grow up.

If I had had the money, I could have set up an awesome mini-Japan during Culture Week from stuff in this store.

Dancing in Italy AND cute waiters??? You know how to start this girl's Monday morning off right! So much better than the article on Mastery Learning I am supposed to be reading for class later today.

Ready for your "Just Three More Days in Tennessee" pixie dust, MeMom?

pixiedust:

Keep your head in your books, young lady! You are paying a lot of money for all this learnin', ain't ya???

Pixie dust away, because we are ready to fly! :woohoo:

Only we're driving. :upsidedow

It is getting so close!!! Are you excited?
I think Bella is so cute coloring her picture. Blake colors about like her. He scribbles more than anything. He wanted me to color his picture at VBS last night. He has little interest in coloring. He would rather put puzzles together any day. I made him do it though and it was a very cute picture. He can be my stubborn one.

Yes, ma'am. ::yes::
Jill has to work all week until we leave and has all Brooklynn's activities. I made a Sam's run today for camp and had to do some paperwork to get a donation of day old sweets from the bakery. Tomorrow, I have to do some stuff for the Y, and Wednesday I have to get groceries and do my last minute housework. Thursday will be here quickly.

You would be surprised how many of our school kids do not know how to work puzzles. I was shocked when I saw third graders who didn't have the sense to match colors, like grass or sky, to the picture. Ever since then, I have always made sure to have plenty of puzzles in my centers.
Blake is learning a lot of reasoning skills as he does those puzzles. :thumbsup2

I have one of Bella's bears on my fridge from another trip. :goodvibes

I am pretty sure we are not paying $200 for the night.

I love the ME video. I like the sound of the guy's voice, and it gets you all pumped up to experience the magic as you near your resort. If you get a good driver, they will make a little deal out of going unfer the arch, but some don't say anything about it. I like the ones who make it fun. :woohoo:

Sitting under palm trees in the morning Florida breeze sounds delightful.

Sounds like you had a great mix of activities on your trip. That's the way to do it.

My eyes stay pretty happy in Disney World. As soon as I see my first palm tree, I just get a good feeling. That's one major thing I miss about St. Pete - the palm trees.

You know, I could be happy working at a Kidcot Station. I could chat and color and make little projects all day long. :thumbsup2

Happy getting closer to Disney day! I just know these are such exciting times! I can't wait to follow along as we are driving home from Chicago....

You're always somewhere. :rotfl:

Did you take the Pacifica again, and if so, how packed is it?

I will pass on being sung to, but I do want to experience the atmosphere, the waiters, and the pizza. :)

You have mingos! :dance3: I might have to ship one home to myself, too. :)

I saw that. The article said it was about a mile from Animal Kingdom.

Thirdly, Bella's sweet little face while she's coloring, so adorable!

We need a picture of the girls with the Mickey heads that are left. Jill said when she put them to bed last night, Bella said, "I not go bed. I go Dizhy Wuld."

You just have to know Kay to believe her. She's a mess, but she is my long time friend, so I just go with whatever she happens to be talking about, smile, and say 'Uh huh,' every so often. ;)

Y'alls trip is so close! Have a great time! I leave for a week at the beach on Saturday so I'll try to check in on Facebook! Safe travels!

Have fun at the beach! :cool2:
Be sure to use your 'sunscream'. :thumbsup2

If you ration yourself, your coconut patties will last until your next trip, and then you can restock. It's always nice to have some Disney goodies around the house.

Our time sitting on the beach is now a very fond memory. ::yes::

Single digits!

I have about three Photobucket pages of pictures to finish, too. I've gotta get on this.

The last two years, we have not gotten enough F&G time in. At least this time, though, we made it all the way around World Showcase, so that was good.

What are you looking for? You were there for like a hundred weeks, and you still didn't get everything you wanted??? :rotfl:

I think most teachers could write a dissertation about some of the things we see going on in the schools. It's helpful in some areas, and it is really messed up in others. We can't control it, so we just have to deal with it until we get out of it. When parents blatantly throw things in my face, it does kind of get under my skin, though. I just have to give myself a talking to and remind myself how blessed I am.

I am pretty sure we are not paying $200 for the night.

Nope we are paying the low low price of $69 for the night at the Holiday Inn (used to be Sunspree).

John is extremely excited about the Ohana meal. I am pretty sure he has said something about it every day for the past 3 weeks.

I hope the meal is everything we are imagining. We may have set our bar too high for anyone to reach it. ;)

We didn't have time to stop for Aladdin and Jasmine, so I snapped a picture as we went by.

I would like it if all of these people would kindly step out of my fountain/Eiffel Tower picture. :)

No, but they didn't have a lot of the 40th anniversary things out yet.

If you can find one a 40th Anni. reusable tote bag. They have them on line but are sold out. I tried to post a picture of one but I couldn't get it to work. One of the 40th Anni. Christmas Ornaments and a Tigger mug. I can pm you my cell # and you can text me pic of some of the mug choices if you would like.

We had a lovely meal at Ohana's. It was tied with the Cape May Cafe Dinner Buffet for our favorite meal behind LeCellier.

I wanted an ornament, too. Are you talking about the big round ones? If they run out before I get one, I shall kick myself for not getting it in March. I held one in my hand at about ten different places and kept saying I'd get it later. Surely they will restock them!

Yeah, you better give me your number. I don't want to pick out a Tigger mug without your approval.

We have not done Cape May for dinner yet, but their breakfast was one of our all-time favorites. Maybe we can get there for dinner next summer.
