I hear ya! Frustrates my SIL to no end when a parent can afford a $4 pack of cigarettes, but can't get their kid some crayons
Love the pictures from the Japanese Wal-Mart, as our Segway tour guide so affectionately called it, lol!
I can't blame the kids, but unfortunately, they are growing up learning from this, and so many of them will be in the 'gimme, gimme, gimme' camp, too, as they grow up.
If I had had the money, I could have set up an awesome mini-Japan during Culture Week from stuff in this store.
Dancing in Italy AND cute waiters??? You know how to start this girl's Monday morning off right! So much better than the article on Mastery Learning I am supposed to be reading for class later today.
Ready for your "Just Three More Days in Tennessee" pixie dust, MeMom?
Keep your head in your books, young lady! You are paying a lot of money for all this learnin', ain't ya???
Pixie dust away, because we are ready to fly!
Only we're driving.
It is getting so close!!! Are you excited?
I think Bella is so cute coloring her picture. Blake colors about like her. He scribbles more than anything. He wanted me to color his picture at VBS last night. He has little interest in coloring. He would rather put puzzles together any day. I made him do it though and it was a very cute picture. He can be my stubborn one.
Yes, ma'am.

Jill has to work all week until we leave and has all Brooklynn's activities. I made a Sam's run today for camp and had to do some paperwork to get a donation of day old sweets from the bakery. Tomorrow, I have to do some stuff for the Y, and Wednesday I have to get groceries and do my last minute housework. Thursday will be here quickly.
You would be surprised how many of our school kids do not know how to work puzzles. I was shocked when I saw third graders who didn't have the sense to match colors, like grass or sky, to the picture. Ever since then, I have always made sure to have plenty of puzzles in my centers.
Blake is learning a lot of reasoning skills as he does those puzzles.
These are the most excitting days....the ones right before a trip!
3 1/2 sleeps to go!!!
So fun to have the "tootcase" packed.
I went and looked at the DTD hotels just to see.
The Hilton has DTD view rooms. I'm not sure if it's worth it for $200+....it would be very cool to see though.
I'm guessing you watched the ME video on "you tube".... I don't know if I want to look or save it for the experience.....when I take it for the first time.
..Japanese
WalMart.... I'll never look at it the same way again!!!
Cute pic of Bella coloring. The Duffy cutout makes a great little souvienier! You could start a collection!
I have one of Bella's bears on my fridge from another trip.
I am pretty sure we are not paying $200 for the night.
I love the ME video. I like the sound of the guy's voice, and it gets you all pumped up to experience the magic as you near your resort. If you get a good driver, they will make a little deal out of going unfer the arch, but some don't say anything about it. I like the ones who make it fun.
You're so close!! Friday will come fast!
I didn't do a thing this weekend for the trip, since we had family in town - so this week will be busy!!! One week from today I'll be waking up in our rental home, taking an early morning swim, or reading as I enjoy my morning coffee. Bliss.
And of course, 4th of July dinner with the Jill & MeMom group!!!
John is beside himself about the 'Ohana meal.
Sitting under palm trees in the morning Florida breeze sounds delightful.
Hi! We're back from our week in the Keys. We had some "just-the-four-of-us time" and some "in-laws time" and a lot of "great-friends time" - and it was all a wonderful, relaxing and very fun time! The girls each caught their first fish, I caught one, too, and our friends' DS6 caught a small nurse shark! I didn't make the Coco Lopez cake, though there was plenty of that on hand, but I do plan to make it before summer's over (which is when, exactly, in So. Fla? ). I'm glad you enjoyed your palm trees pic, MeMom! I was sitting there watching the girls in the pool and actually noticed how nice the palms were and thought you might enjoy them, too. I don't usually stop to notice them...they're all around us here and I guess I take them for granted.
Well, I'm finally all caught up here, and not a moment too soon...didn't want to miss the send-off party! Can't wait to follow along on fb and I'll be glad to receive any pics you want to send my way.
Those F&G pics are just so beautiful...I never get tired of looking at Epcot at "normal" times of year, (I've been known to say "my eyes are happy" a time or two while wandering about there) but during F&G...just breathtaking! Brooklynn sure does give her friends the best names! Bella coloring is just too cute!! I always wonder about those Sharpies, though...not sure permanent marker is the BEST choice for kids...
Sounds like you had a great mix of activities on your trip. That's the way to do it.
My eyes stay pretty happy in Disney World. As soon as I see my first palm tree, I just get a good feeling. That's one major thing I miss about St. Pete - the palm trees.
You know, I could be happy working at a Kidcot Station. I could chat and color and make little projects all day long.
Happy getting closer to Disney day! I just know these are such exciting times! I can't wait to follow along as we are driving home from Chicago....
You're always somewhere.
Did you take the Pacifica again, and if so, how packed is it?
It's almost time!!!! How exciting!!
One of those mingos flew home to keep me company in Upstate NY. Although now I wish I saw that "Welcome" rock too!! I had the mingo and a Mickey and Minnie statue shipped and it wasn't too crazy for the charges. They make me smile and that is the important part
Ohhhh the waiters in Via You MUST go inside for a meal someday...and wear a birthday button...or borrow someones!!! It will be worth it to have them come to serenade you Oh and the pizza is good too
Tracy
I will pass on being sung to, but I do want to experience the atmosphere, the waiters, and the pizza.
You have mingos!

I might have to ship one home to myself, too.
