Geen Yight - She's Out of Sight: A Trip of Leaps and Bounds

Yaaa for Brooklyn scoring a few goals!!! :cool1: And lol for Trent's promises!! :rotfl:

Sorry you're so busy at the end of the school year...sounds like a crazy but fun week at school. Hope the kids who hate changes behave themselves thru all of it! :goodvibes

Good old JC and Potc pirate: Must do's on my MK touring plan! :thumbsup2

I saw that on FB too, I quickly googled meerkats as pets and the news wasn't good. So keeping the real one at the zoo is a great idea! Way to go after that ball Brook!

The last game of the season always has a little bit of a bitter-sweet feeling for me. Glad alot of running around is over with, but don't really want it to end either, cause that means next season they're 1 year older! Congratulations on scoring those goals, Brooklyn! Even if one of them didn't count!

If Brooklyn is anything like my Emma, she will be dwelling on that meerkat until it shows up in her arms. Emma has an amazing little memory when it comes to something that is "due" her somehow, she tends to forget when it's things like making her bed in the morning though

This wasn't much of a season, to be honest, with all of the cancelled games, but it was good enough to introduce her to the world of team sports.

I'm pretty sure Brooklynn will not let Trent forget that he owes her something.

I saw the meerkat prize mentioned on FB and thought he meant a REAL one! A plush should be easier to manage. Good for Brooklyn scoring two goals!

I'm guessing six weeks should fly right by!

He meant a real one...
until she actually scored! :rotfl:

She hadn't scored in any of the four games, so he felt pretty safe.
But then.... :upsidedow

The next two weeks should zoom by with finishing all of our school stuff and the Atlanta trip. The last week of June, I am helping one of our cousins with day camp, so that one will zoom by. I need the rest of the weeks to go slowly enough for me to have some lazy time so that the whole summer isn't gone in a flash. :)

Congrats to Brooklynn!! What an awesome job

Is this your last week of school? Good luck finishing up everything

This is our last full week. We go next Tuesday and Wednesday, and then we go June 6th and 7th. Then we're done!

Great job Brooklynn! Hope Trent has fun locating a meerkat!

We may be taking another trip to the Nashville Zoo soon for her to point out hers. ;) It will be given a name right away, and it will probably be an interesting name, like Furry Brownie or something.

I hope he is learning valuable lessons for when he has his own kids. :goodvibes

I finished all my Running Record folders Friday. I am in pretty good shape, at this point.

Just a couple of soccer pictures for you.

She's okay sitting on the sideline eating pretzels for now.

Break time.

As we went back to Jill's house, I took a few pictures of the mess that is around much of that area now.

Trees and trash line the roads.

Construction and clean-up work is going on everywhere.

This was the Piggly Wiggly - right down the road from Jill's house.

That one makes me kind of sick. I have many prayers for those who got the worst of that storm. There were many homes demolished. It is a real mess, and it will take a long time to clean up, but most people lost only possessions, not lives, so that is a good thing.

Too funny about the promise of the meerkat. I would have loved to see Jill's face when Trent promised her a meerkat and she scored! :lmao:

That picture made me . Houses, trees you kind of expect, but a sturdy Piggly wiggly... You would think a big supermarket building would be safer.

On the bright side, the economy can use the shot in the arm but too bad it was because of this tragedy. :sad2:

Congrats to Brooklyn on her soccer goals! :cool1: I think a meerkat is a pretty cool prize, but I agree that its better to stay at the zoo. That way it won't get lonely ;)

Those were some pretty scary tornado pictures! It reminds me of the aftermath of hurricane Ivan, which hit while I was living in Pensacola Florida. The power of mother nature is awe-inspiring and terrifying at the same time.

She was promised a real meerkat, however, said wild animal would have to live at my house and Trent found out that they are illegal in the US. He tried to convince me to let her have a prairie dog because he could get one from some guy in Texas. I opted for the meerkat at the zoo and a stuffed animal.

Glad they are illegal...:lmao: I guess he will have to learn to promise Dairy Queen or Rita's! (That's what we bribe our girls with to get them to win...:rotfl:)

a stuffed one sounds like a good compromise!

Sorry about the mess that so many are still having to clean up. :sad2: It must be bittersweet to drive by it. Thankful being safe and sad for the others.

LOL hope Trent is able to find a suitable meerkat for Brooklynn, it will be exciting to see what she names him/her!! Congrats to her for scoring a goal, that is awesome!!

What a busy week you have ahead of you!! I finally got all my grades done and now I have 8 answer keys to make for finals and I'm heading down the home stretch. We will try not to think about the fact I haven't even thought about packing yet, I still have a week so that's plenty of time....right???

What pictures from the storm!! WOW!!

I'm glad it's a stuffed meerkat :thumbsup2 The real one can stay at the zoo & Brooklyn can visit him there.

I might be making the NYE trip now. I think my birthday plans are falling through so if I don't do that in February, I should be able to swing a NYE trip. In looking at prices, I think I'd come in the 30th & stay a few days into the new year. :yay: I'll keep y'all posted.

Amen and Amen and Amen, sister!
MeMom or Jill, maybe someone had better spell it out for Trent: Don't promise a child what you cannot deliver! I think he now owes Jill, too, for saving the day with those low-maintenance -- and legal -- alternatives.

My heart just sank to see that Piggly Wiggly and the roofs off of so many homes. I'm glad recovery is starting, though. And I'm really glad I didn't see your AL pictures until tonight's tornado watch here expired. I was already a little extra-anxious bcz now my baby girl's room is up on the fourth floor here in our new house. We're down to just rain now, so -- no, wait, there's another clap of thunder. Looks like I'll be up another while yet, glued to the weather.

Happy to hear that Hunter is better. So hard on such a tiny body, and tough on first-time parents.

Yippeeeee for six weeks!!!

Math Fair today, so no time to DIS. I will catch up tonight. I did want to check in long enough to ask you all to keep in thought and prayer the family of a DISer who was lost in last night's storms in Joplin, Missouri. Her name was MinnieLor (Lorie), and though I did not know her personally, I had seen many of her posts on lots of different threads in past years. Maroo, who some of you know, said that Lorie's sister came onto Facebook and said the Lorie and her husband, Glenn, were killed in last night's activities. This weighs so heavy on my heart this morning, since Jill just went through something that could have yielded equally tragic results. Maybe I am just now letting myself cry over what happened in Alabama, or maybe the loss of any DISer feels somewhat like family, or maybe a mix of both. If you are of the praying persuasion, keep that town and especially that DIS family close in prayer today.

I have to go redo my make-up, what little I wear, and load my car with fun and games. It is raining here, so I am hoping it stops before I am ready to unload at school or I will be a soaking wet mess. :upsidedow I think, though, that any little inconvenience that comes my way today, I will be able to handle with a little more gratitude after learning of this loss this morning.

Have a wonderful day, friends! You guys truly do mean so much to us, and we should let you know that more often. We very much consider you all blessings in our lives. :)

So sad to see the devastation from the tornadoes. :(

Hurray for Brooklyn scoring goals, but I was cracking up over the other team's name -- the White Swans! :lmao: Glad it is just a stuffed meerkat coming to live at Jill's house. Although, can you just imagine having a real one running around, and then it standing up when the doorbell rang or something? :rotfl2:

So sorry to hear that a long time DISer and her husband died in the storm. I did not know her and don't think we crossed paths on the boards but it still hits "close to home." :grouphug:

-------

On a MUCH lighter note, Trent "knows a guy" who can get a prairie dog? :lmao::rotfl::rotfl2: Good thing everyone is now agreed on a plush!

:sad1:...brought tears to my eyes too. How very sad for her family & the friends she had here on the DIS.
I will say a prayer for her family.

I hold all of my DIS friends very dear to my heart and I am very thankful we are all safe. I would hate to loose any of you! :grouphug:

Way TO Go Brooklynn!!! Great Job!!! :cheer2:

It never occured to me that Trent meant a real meercat....
I hope you find the plush one for her.
Timon would be a perfect choice!

Good luck today with the math fair! :teacher:

We have a holiday today so I'm super happy about that!
I have to pop into work for a couple hours but the rest of the day is all mine! :)

I think I'm going to make cupcakes with crowns on them in honor of the Queen's bday! ;)

I thought of you yesterday when I was out doing my errands..... I had a "poutine" and said to myself...Memom just
doesn't know what she is missing...yumm. :rotfl:
They even had new varieties with Texas style pulled pork or brisket.
I didn't try them but someday I will get adventurous and go for it. :goodvibes

6 weeks...very excitting for you! :dance3: :dance3:

Wig'd I'm relieved that Hunter's getting better! Poor little guy.

 I will definitely be keeping that family in my prayers! What a devastating loss. It does put a lot into perspective doesn't it! It's all so sad!!!!

MeMom have a good day at school! I hope things clear up for you and you can have a great day of fun with the kids!!!!

Such sad news. Will definitely keep her family in my prayers. The devastation is just horrible down there.

:yay:Yay for Brooklyns soccer goals! I am sure she was sooo excited.

:thumbsup2Trent is being such a great uncle! I am sure Brooklyn will love that meerkat.

Hope you have a good day at school and your Piggy Bank Adventure goes well.

I didn't hear about the weather last night, how sad! What a terrible thing for a family to loose 2 members at the same time - they must be devastated!! It certainly makes you want to hold your loved ones close, you never know when they might be gone :sad1:

I'm just seeing pictures of the devastation in MO. Oh my GOODNESS! Those poor people! I pray for those who have lost loved ones and for our fellow DISers. Just so tragic.

On a lighter note, I'm with a pp in the fact that Trent has a "connection" with someone who could hook him up with a REAL prairie dog!!! :rotfl: He better watch what he promises Brooklyn. She seems like she's gonna go for whatever he promises her!!

Such devastating news. The DISers family will be in my thoughts. :sad1:
