Geen Yight - She's Out of Sight: A Trip of Leaps and Bounds

Thanks for the pictures! That is definitely going on my wish list for our possible January trip. Once I saw what you've made so far, and the recipe for sticky toffee pudding, I decided I HAVE to have it!

That sticky toffee pudding recipe put me over the edge too! Now I HAVE to have that cookbook

As always I love your shopping pictures! Some of those very items came home with me yesterday :goodvibes big surprise right?

Seems as if you were posting as I was typing.

Great news about a spring trip with Kay on the books! Sorry the girls can't go with you.
You two ladies will have a fun time...laughing and enjoying everything at your own pace.

Thank you pooh'smate for the info on the cookbook!
Very reasonable...I'll put it on my wish list.
Have you made any recipies out of it yet?

I'll have to start a page in my notebook for a possible Dismeet...sunny_stace, disneymoon09, punkin.

That could have been a disaster if Kay didn't find her wallet. So wonderful that someone turned it in.

Seems like everyone has lost someone in WoD.

I think we will set a meeting spot incase we get separated again. Good tip!
BrooklynnsMommy how are you, John and the girls doing?
Do you have power yet? Back to work soon?
I've been thinking about you.

The power came on just before they got home on Monday. A neighbor sent a text message telling them about it as they were driving home.

The spring trip is not on the books yet. Right now, we have July, October, and December confirmed. Probably after we get back from the July trip, we will call in the spring one. We will have fun, and spring break trips are so welcomed always! Hopefully by next summer, we'll be able to make a reservation for a suite at the new Art of Animation Resort.

Do you recall that this was now twice during the trip Kay had lost her possessions?

This is too funny!!! Kay sounds like a riot.

She's at least one riot - maybe more.

I think those were Jill's exact sentiments. :upsidedow

They have been putting this off for a while now. John's mom wanted the whole crew to go, but John's brother and his wife are going on a cruise instead. I'm not sure why his sister's family isn't going. Anyway, Jill is going to take one for the team and go. She's hoping it doesn't ruin WDW for her forever. ;)

I will try to get some posted today.

I have made Peanut Butter and Jelly Milk Shake, Memere's French Toast, Canadian Cheddar Cheese Soup (well I am making this today), and Creamy Parmesan Mashed Potatoes.

I have heard people rave about the PBJ shakes. I know about the soup and potatoes firsthand. :)

I love the shopping pictures. I bought the measuring cups and spoons last trip and use them almost everyday. Now I just need to pick up the rest, especially the spoon rest and cookbook.

You will have a Disney kitchen, indeed - if not in decor, then in supplies that are tucked away ready whenever you need to look at them. :goodvibes

I love your shopping pictures and Jill's "Kay story".

I have that "whole new world" picture frame with a picture of me and my husband and Aladdin and Jasmine in it. Aladdin is my favorite Disney movie.

Makes a great wedding song, too. :thumbsup2

You would have laughed if you had seen Kay walking up and down the aisles talking to herself.

Here are some pictures of the cookbook. If anybody wants some different pictures just let me know and I will take them for you.

Here is the back...

Each section has a tab and it tells you what are current recipes (new favorites) you they are using now and old ones (from the vault) they don't use any more.

All the ingredients are listed on the outside of the page and the instructions are on the inside.

All the recipes tell you where you can or could have found the food.

Like I said above if anybody has any questions please ask and I will do my best to help you. If you want some different pictures just let me know.

Very nice. I just thought people might want to see how it was laid out. Every time I think about spending money on a Disney cookbook, the cheap in me tells me I can find a lot of recipes on allears, so I never buy one. I would be more apt to buy one as a birthday or wedding gift for someone else than I would be able to part with the money to buy one for myself.

That's a good idea! Trust me, I'll have plenty of Disney kitchen stuff on the list! Actually, I'm giving Kristen money to buy me the book when she goes soon!

Thanks for the pictures!! You have me even more excited to get it!

Getting Disney kitchen stuff is a good way to start a marriage. :)

Thanks for sharing the pictures of the cookbook pooh'smate! I'm thinking that may need to come home with me in a few weeks

I think cookbook sales are about to skyrocket.

Thank you pooh'smate for sharing the book with us...seems like it is a hit around here!

I popped in while I eat a little snack here at work and you have made me very hungry.

All of the things you have tried sound great!

I have tried the Cheddar cheese soup at LeCellier and it was sooo goood! :)
Not just saying that because I'm Canadian either. :rotfl:

Gotta go....thanks again!

The pretzel bread dipped in the soup is scrumptious.

Breaks are so short, aren't they???

Thanks for the pictures! That is definitely going on my wish list for our possible January trip. Once I saw what you've made so far, and the recipe for sticky toffee pudding, I decided I HAVE to have it!

When are you going to be able to get the 'possible' out of that sentence?

Sticky toffee pudding sounds so good!

That sticky toffee pudding recipe put me over the edge too! Now I HAVE to have that cookbook

After you get the cookbook, you'll make it and show us pictures, right?

And then send us all a sample? ;)

WooHoo!! It will be my first Dismeet!

MeMom I was looking forward to meeting your crew! Thats ok, anytime in October will be beautiful I'm sure! Any plans for MNSSHP? It's still up for debate in my house.

Let us remember that I found her but then halfway back to you guys she realized she no longer had her "Ironman" (Buzz Lightyear) for Dylan. We went back to the little boys room and got a new one. She kept saying she knew Dylan liked "Ironman" I would say "Kay that's Buzz" "Oh I know that's what I meant Buzz. He just loves Ironman, I mean Buzz." We get halfway back to you with Buzz now in hand and Kay realizes she has lost her bag - the one containing her wallet, sunglasses, cup, but most importantly her wallet with her ID that she will need to board a plane in less than 48 hours. I finally returned to you and the girls I paid for everybody's stuff and then I left you with strict instructions to stay put while I went to see if the bag was at the information counter. It was. I distinctly remember you asking why you were in trouble because you weren't the one that got lost. Remember the answer "Kay is your crazy friend and now I think I could use a Prozac!" Love ya Mom!

:rotfl2: Oh this is too funny!!!!

It was fun to meet Kay for that brief minute I did-I love to hear about the adventures with her...and look forward to more! Glad to hear she's already started saving for her next trip. :goodvibes

When are you going to be able to get the 'possible' out of that sentence?

Sticky toffee pudding sounds so good!

Hopefully soon! We know when we want to go, we just haven't figured out solid dates. I really can't wait to. We're all excited to go during a less crowded time. I might have already started designing tickers. :rolleyes1

It IS so good! I tried it last year on our first night. I really want to go back to Rose & Crown just for that dessert.

I really wanted to eat at Prime Time so I could try the shake but Jon and Lexi picked Sci-Fi instead.

I thought the same thing because I have looked at those recipes to make but have never printed them off to make them. I thought I would make them more if I had a cookbook and I do. I love it. I didn't make the soup today because I didn't feel well but I will tomorrow.

The pretzel bread dipped in the soup is scrumptious.

It is.:cloud9:

After I make the soup that is my next recipe. It sounds so good.

Memom - you want Jill to have another baby? She already had to keep track of four loved ones at WOD! :lmao:

I too brought home the spoon rest. I tried to spray paint it black. :confused3 :rotfl2: I thought the paint should stick. Not. a. chance. I promptly, and sullenly, washed the black off. (I guess I shouldn't admit to my less intelligent ideas...):rolleyes1

Hi there!! Just wanted to say hello and that I am still here and have been all along, but trailing pages behind and catching up a bunch of pages at a time...only to fall back behind again. :rolleyes1

I've been enjoying all the funny stories and had you in my thoughts and prayers through all the not-so-fun stuff. :upsidedow

And, I just had to comment on these two pics:

Easter2011013.jpg

Bella chose a mingo and a puhse.

Easter2011056.jpg

TOO CUTE!!!!!!! (And, I totally would have picked that same purse, myself. ;) )

So cool that you could see fireworks from your room! Fireworks are one of my favorite parts of a Disney vacation, and I had no idea that you could watch them from Pop. I'll have to keep that in mind when we are choosing our next resort.

I'll agree that WOD is crazy, especially at night! Too funny that Kay lost her wallet again. I can totally sympathize, I feel like I'm always leaving something behind, but I've been really lucky with being reunited with everything that has been lost!

I hope that the MeMom and Brooklyn trip works out for you! When I was a kid my grandparents lived in Deltona, Fl (about a 1/2 from Disney) and every summer my mom would send me and my brothers down to visit for a month. My grandparents would always take us to Disney for a few days during the trip and I have such fond memories of being in the parks with them. I wish the same happy memories for you and Brooklyn.

Oh and I wish Jill good good luck with her in-laws trip. I've been to Disney with my in-laws a few times now (they are DVC member also) and it hasn't been too terrible. Its never the same as going with your own family, but I find it is a little easier to deal their idiosyncrasies while at the happiest place on earth.

Good morning! Getting ready to have a full day of patients. I had to check the Dis before becoming a responsible doctor for the day.:rotfl:
Love the pics. The Kay story is hilarious. I love WOD, but do hate the crowds!! I have to hold on to the boys extra tight because it would be impossible to find them.
I am glad that Jill has power again. Have a great Thursday!

I love the story about Kay and her "iron man"! She reminds me a lot of my mum! Although, my mum thinks Buzz Lightyear would be quite a catch and I should find a nice astronaut to marry! :rotfl: That is what she said when she was watching TS3..."You'd be able to just stay home and have babies! And they would be very smart!"

I'll have to start a page in my notebook for a possible Dismeet...sunny_stace, disneymoon09, punkin. :cool1:

Definitely count me in for a meet! :goodvibes I'll be around from Sept.23 to Oct. 2!:thumbsup2

I am sad that we can't be there for the anniversary weekend. Jill just didn't think it was going to work out for her, I guess. I want to go for the anniversary weekend and the Brooklynn and me trip. I'm a little greedy when it comes to Disney World. ;)

I've thought about MNSSHP. We've done it twice. It is expensive, though, and I could add another day at another park for less, I think, and not have to skip either Epcot or Animal Kingdom. So, most likely there will be no Halloween party for us this year.

Oh this is too funny!!!!

It was fun to meet Kay for that brief minute I did-I love to hear about the adventures with her...and look forward to more! Glad to hear she's already started saving for her next trip.

She said she was going to give me the money, so as soon as she does, I'll put it straight on the room so I am not tempted to spend it. ;)

I have not been to Rose and Crown. That might be one Kay and I could try, because I don't think Jill would be interested in that one, and I don't want to do any places without her that I think she'd like to try.

Having a new countdown will be very exciting. :thumbsup2

That is recipe is one of the reasons I bought it!!!!

Sorry you were feeling bad.

The soup and pretzel bread would be especially good on a cold winter day.

I definitely want Jill to have another baby! :yay:
I thought each of my kids would be like me and have three. Boy, was I way off base.

You probably saved others from trying the same thing. They just had it in that one color, which does not match my kitchen, so I didn't get it. I don't know why it matters, because I wouldn't have to leave it sitting out or anything. Silly me.

We have to have another 'meet up' someday. We still owe a certain member of your family a ride in Fantasyland. ::yes::

Kay and I have gone twice without Jill - both times when she was pregnant. Drew and his buddy, Sam, went with us one year. Kay enjoyed it, and now it has become a sort of regular thing. I think this will be her 4th time in the last few years, and she also went with us many, many years ago when the kids were small. We have fun, but it's never the same as it is when my most precious girlie girls and Jill are there. :goodvibes

I hope Brooklynn and Bella will have good memories of time spent with MeMom.

Good morning! Getting ready to have a full day of patients. I had to check the Dis before becoming a responsible doctor for the day.:rotfl:

I am glad that Jill has power again. Have a great Thursday!

The boys might enjoy hanging out at the Lego Store while you hit World of Disney, and then you could all meet somewhere afterward.

Hope your doctor day was a good one. My teacher day was fair up until dismissal when L pushed C up against the wall and broke a front tooth. :sad2:

Sounds like there will be a big crowd for early October. :dance3:

Kay once was yelling at one of her kids to get something out of his mouth or he might swallow it. She said, "I don't want to have to do the Heinekin Remover on you!" :rotfl: Ever since that day, I have not been able to read, see, or hear about the Heimlich Maneuver without smiling. :)

Today was Magic Kingdom day.

Wake up, Bella!

IMG_1304.jpg

One of the perks in the grandparents' handbook states that 'When getting children ready in the morning, the MeMom gets the easy child and the real Mommy gets the other one'. :) Bella wakes up with a smile, and Brooklynn can be a real bear, unless she wakes up on her own. Bella and I go do our thing while Jill is left to coax the bear out of hibernation and get her dressed.

Bella and I went down to the food court, probably to get drinks, and she talked me into a box of cookies.

Back to the room.
Note that our room was in the building just to the left, which you can't see.
You came out of Classic Hall, hung a right, then the first left.
Not hard, right?

I will have a Kay story for you later. ;)

Unfortunately, the sky was crying about something that morning.

Neither Bella nor I were happy about the plastic cocoon she was in.

One of the reasons Jill had made this reservation was so that we could get empty park pictures.

Confession: I have been known to write down phone conversations that I have with Kay (or ones she has with herself) so that I can tell Jill later. :rolleyes1

I imagine you and Jill have had some pretty funny conversations about your buddy Kay!! I have a friend at work that sounds a lot like her - she comes up with some of the strangest words! I usually know what she's trying to say, but boy does she murder the english language :)

Hi guys

Talk about tempting fate!!! The last post I sent at the weekend said

"cant imagine what you went thru as we dont get tornado's over here - we get hurricane force gales sometimes but nothing like you have been thru."

Well we had a tornado hit our biggest city yesterday - small in comparison to yours but 1 person was blown off a construction site and killed and 3 critical and 16 others injured.

Its amazing the damage it caused - it was a Force 2 if that means anything which apparently is not big but boy its made a bit of a mess.

Just had to share that as thought it was rather spooky!!

Love the story about Kaye - she sounds alot of fun.

I thought of you when heard ther was a tornado in NZ. Glad you are OK. :goodvibes

I'll have to start a page in my notebook for a possible Dismeet...sunny_stace, disneymoon09, punkin. :cool1:

Add Poolrat to the list. :rolleyes1:laughing:
