For added authenticity, you'd have to forget if you parked that one particular car in Unicorn or Sleepy. And attempt to find it at 1 am with your forearms covered in caramel apple sticky remnants.
Well, of course...that's exactly how I was going to play it!
I did wash the dust off them to take the picture.
In reality, unless you drink from the corners, you spill all over yourself. After a couple of tries I just put them up because even drinking frrom the corners was awkward.
Now my Burger King plastic everyday cups, not in very good shape. Years of use and dishwasher abuse.
I have a littlle Yacht club going on in my bathroom. We have a glass shower stall so no curtain but I have lighthouses on my towels and a toothbrush holder on the counter.
I know people like that. Heck sometimes I can be like that.
It reminds of "All in the Family" when Edith is telling the story about the dent in the car. It was all about the "cling peaches" She took such a long time to get there and Archie was just making it worse. Yup, I can get off topic like that when I let mind wander.
It can be fun to watch.
YES WE DO !!!!!
I hope it doesn't come to that. I hope it all gets done and you have time to put it all back together.
Think happy thoughts, think happy thoughts.
I am excited to see which one it is too.
Yes I did!!!!
I need your dusting talents at my house this week. Every inch of this house needs to be dusted before Saturday. Let me know when you're coming, and I'll leave a key under the mat, in case I'm not here.
A Yacht Club bathroom sounds very nice. Maybe next time you are in WDW, you could get a Yacht Club picture to make it official.
You would do a lot of laughing around Kay. It's not safe to drink when she's talking, lest you spray things around you that you might not want sprayed.
I am really hoping to come home today to some action happening in my kitchen.
Yummm, Mama Melrose's looks sooo yummy! We're eating there for the 2nd time in June...I can't wait
Glad to hear the house renovations are coming along well!!
I think we picked just the right time to go there. It was a good fit for that day and for the group we had.
The painting is done, and after today, I am hoping Part II - the stove and dryer - will be done.
Sure enjoyed the ToT ride with you. And Bella was so cute in her video! We've never tried Mama Melrose's. Was it worth the price? Having fun with all the shopping and I especially loved the black Mickey purse on page 28.
Hope you're going to show pictures of all your house updates.
It was a little much for spaghetti, considering spaghetti is cheap, but for being in Disney World and it being very good, it was fine. We will do it again sometime when we have the guys with us.
It looks like you had a wonderful meal at Mama Melrose! My family had dinner there once, I think back in 2006 and we all enjoyed it. It certainly looks like they were not skimpy with portions! It looks like you got enough spaghetti in one order to feed the whole table!
Glad to hear that your kitchen renovations are nearing completion. My parents just went through something similar. They recently redid their kitchen for the first time. It still had the original Formica counter tops that were installed when the house was built in the 60's! I joked with my mom that she was going to have to get a permit, because those counter tops must have earned protected status under the endangered species act! I think they were the last of their kind!
My family has a very similar affliction- too many Disney trips and not enough left over money for the kitchen. My mom always reasoned that if you spent enough time on vacation, you wouldn't be home to notice how old and dingy everything was anyway!
I have dinosaur cabinets and countertops. Everything in this house is pretty much dinosaur. I will have to do the modernizing one small step at a time.

My fear is that my new floor and stove are just going to accent how terrible the rest of it is.
I am finally here and caught up!
Wonderful report so far. I am really enjoying all the little videos. Joe teased me today saying we could possibly swing a trip for Memorial Day; however flights are around $350 each. So, I'm thinking I'll have to live through your videos!
How is your Aunt Joan?
I look forward to seeing your renovation work! Did you decide on the AKL or YC theme? (sorry if you already mentioned this, I skimmed most of the chatter)
Glad you enjoyed Mama Melrose! We debated on adding it again for this past trip, but it didn't make the list. It will be repeated someday, yum!
We can't expect you to be on time when you are out galavanting around Disney World for two weeks.
Flights just add a big chunk to a trip, don't they. I'm for an insta-transporter, myself. Somebody smarter than me needs to invent one of those!
Joan is slowly getting better. I'm supposed to be fixing food for her and Ray this weekend, but I'm going to wait another week or so to visit. Dawn talks like she's pretty tired and weak most of the time.
It's AKL all the way. Jill liked it better when I sent her a phone picture, and Trent picked up a picture from Ziwadi for me last weekend. I'll put it all together Saturday morning and take a picture.
Glad your kitchen renovations are going to be underway really, really soon! Our stove is pretty icky and my grandmother has been dying to get us a new one. The oven, too, doesn't work the way it should. I love baking but always put off doing so b/c it's so hard with the oven being the way it is! We have to subtract at least 50 degrees from what it says to bake things at, yet it's cooler in some areas. It's very strange.
I can't remember who you were responding to with this... But my sister is going in a couple weeks (leaving April 14) and she is staying offsite with a bunch of friends, without park hoppers, so I'm not sure what they're doing each day but I can ask her. Whoever was asking, just respond on here or send me a PM and I promise I will see what she can do!
The oven itself is really good. It bakes very nicely. The burners are cruddy, and two have gone on the blink. I am excited about not having to clean burner pans again.
It would be great if your sister could send you that information on the skirts, if she happens to see them.
Could be one of the first meals my new stove sees.
I must say... this had me puzzled for a moment. I just kept looking at it and thinking... I have no idea where this vehicle is used in the park??? I thought I had been on every form of Disney transportation, but NO! I finally noticed the writing on the package and realized that I didn't know what it was b/c we have never driven to the parks! I have never seen a Disney parking lot or tram!
Glad you liked MM. I'd like to try some place new at HS next time (even though I liked MM) but there aren't that many choices. I'm not willing to spend the $ for HBD. Maybe we'll try 50's. The spaghetti looked good though. You can't go wrong with that. A favorite for the kids and adults!
We don't use a tram, either, but we did before when we drove up from St. Pete. I think the Matchbox version of that scene has to be better than the real thing. We've had a couple of car hunting times in our days, too.
I want to go to Brown Derby, but I think that will be on a girl trip. I don't think our guys would care a lot for that restaurant, to be honest. Jill and I want to try them all.
Great!! Just send me a PM or a FB message with your address when you have a chance and I'll get it out to you.
If she doesn't get with you in the next day or so, let me know. She doesn't get time to check in every day, so I'll let her know.
Glad to hear your house renovations are coming along! We had our bathroom and living room/kitchen redone a couple of years ago. We were able to stay in our apartment while the living room & kitchen were getting renovated but when they did the bathroom we had to stay at my aunt's for a couple of days. I didn't mind because then I didn't have to travel far to go to school Traveling from the east to west side in NYC is such a pain.
Looked like you had a yummy meal at Mama Melrose! We always enjoy eating there. The only place I haven't tried yet at DHS is Hollywood Brown Derby but it's just so expensive
I am ready for the house to be back in order. I wouldn't like a 2-3 month renovation!
I have to get to Brown Derby someday to get the Cobb Salad and Grapefruit Cake. I wouldn't be a real DISer if I didn't do that at least once.
Glad you guys liked MM. We ate dinner there in 2009 and, while I enjoyed the food, we had the opposite problem-our portions were small. Ben got some sort of kids pasta and by the time I had my plate he had eaten the 10 noodles that were in his bowl. I ended up giving him half of my chicken parm and spaghetti. I want to give it another try but John just won't go for it again.
We loved 50's PTC last summer when we ate there. We are going again with our family this year. It's a fun place and good food!
We had enough for 3-4 more people.
We've been to PT a few times. We still have to get to Brown Derby, and then we'll have all the Hollywood restaurants covered.
It was me!! I'd really love the SKU for any of those princess tutu skirts, if she sees them while she's there!
Now that I've seen the Minnie skirt on Abby, I want it for the girls even more. It's very cute. Maybe Kailyn can get the information for you.
I'm glad you guys were able to try Mama Melrose! I went there a few years ago during free dining and I remember the service and dessert were amazing! I would go back but it always gets bumped for Sci-Fi or 50's PT
We like to try at least one new place on each trip, but it is easy to want to go back to the old favorites.
Look at the size of those bowls of spaghetti! I would have needed one of these

to get outta there! It sure looks yummy though!
It was very good - not your ordinary spaghetti.
Love Mama Melrose's! I've only been there once and I had the calamari and it was delicious! Sorry about the text Good luck on the kitchen tomorrow! I don't know what I would do without my kitchen! I love to cook! Your update was exactly what I needed! I've had a horrible evening.......crying and all......I just need a break and a Disney trip......and I can't afford it and my family can.....but they don't get my deep love for Disney.......and they think it's bad for me.......I just wish they would understand.........
Make yourself a little magic at home. Watch a Disney movie, go to a restaurant that reminds you of WDW, make a Disney dessert, make a
Disney Store trip or a zoo trip and pretend you're in Animal Kingdom. Pretend it until you can get there, and be saving those pennies for a real trip.
We understand the very strong desire to get back to the real thing. We really do.
