Geen Yight - She's Out of Sight: A Trip of Leaps and Bounds

Brooklynn has done the station where you try to figure out which animals are in the holes in the log. We have seen the little Discovery booklets, but we've never bought one. That might be a very good thing for us to do. Good suggestion!

And feel free to join in any time. Please make yourself at home here. :flower3:

Thanks for making me feel at home! :) My mom, sister and her boys (ages 7 and 4), and I were hoping and planning to head back to Disney this fall for MNSSHP during my nephew's fall break, but life and finances are not going to allow that to happen. So for now I will just continue to live vicariously through everyone's reports, and believe that 2012 will be the year that we return! We stayed at Pop Century when we last went in 2009, and fell in love with the place, so I enjoy stepping back there through your reports.

From what I remember, there was no cost for the Discovery Spot books. We just asked for it at the first station we came to. You don't have to do the tasks in any particular order, so it does not matter which one you start or end with. The neat thing was that the CMs switch around, so we ran into some of the same ones at the different spots, and they remembered my nephew over the course of the two different days that we were there. That really made him feel special! This activity seems to be a hidden treasure in the park, and I am surprised that I never read about it in anyone's trip report.

Happy Mother's Day to you and Jill. I hope your day is a good one!

Doing my after trip catching up and laundry :rolleyes1
Hope you are having a wonderful Mothers Day :flower3:

I have a few breakfasts at CP and have enjoyed them all. We didn't fit any breakfasts in this past trip so I missed my Disney scrambled eggs ;) I will just have to double up in October to make up for it!!

Enjoy the rest of your day!! :goodvibes

MeMon and Jill Hope you both have a great day.

Love reading the mini stories about Kay. It must be so nice to have a friend like that for so long. Exciting to know that a spring trip is in the works for two good friends.:goodvibes

I dig the sprigs. :thumbsup2

"Heineken Remover" :rotfl:

Those strawberries look mouth-watering (and the tray of bacon and mickey waffles). (I had to share ALL the pictures of food from CP with my boyfriend and his mom, get their mouths watering for a Disney trip:rolleyes:)

MeMom and Jill (Poolrat, Wigd and Stacy) I had a pleasure meeting you all too. You ladies have had a positive impact on my life in more ways than you know and I hope that whenever I become a mother, you all are still apart of my life. :goodvibes:goodvibes

To ALL DIS moms - Happy Mother's Day, hope you had a chance to relax and kick your feet up while still enjoying time with your loved ones.:grouphug:

All caught up! I have to agree that WoD can be very overwhelming. It was so crowded when we went on this past trip that it just wasn't enjoyable. I'll have to try the tip of going some morning- that's a good suggestion.

:rotfl: at your Kay stories. Glad you and she can look forward to a spring trip.

I have yet to eat at Crystal Palace but I do love my friends in the hundred acre woods so I may have to give it a try sometime. And pictures of an empty Main Street (even a rainy one) are so cool!

I didn't know you could see the fireworks from Pop! Neat!! And I think Bella could charm me into buying her just about anything. Such a cutie.

I will be there in late Oct too. Last year we missed eachother but maybe this year we can meet!

Bella comes up to me and says, 'Hold you,' which means she wants me to hold her. She's a pretty good snuggle bunny.

I am already looking forward to next spring break's trip! :cool1:

We'll look forward to your Crystal Palace review whenever you get to go. :thumbsup2

Happy Mother's Day, MeMom and Jill!!!

Animal Kingdom was my second Derby pick yesterday -- Charles picked Nehro. If I had actually placed a $2 bet on that horse yesterday, I would have gotten $43.80. I think I may need to go into horse racing betting.

I'm sure wishing I would have put about a thousand on Animal Kingdom!!!

I just realized this pic could represent you...there's Memom, Brooklynsmommy, Trent and Drew....

It's such a cute picture. Thanks for sharing it. I was trying to put one of Lady and her pups this morning, but it wasn't working for me, so I quit.

It's a shame you haven't always got to see all your Hundred Acre Wood friends on your trips to CP but glad you're laid back back it and go ahead and enjoy yourself regardless. I'm sure we've all witnessed those families who give the CMs grief over when the next character is coming their way!
We've done dinner once at CP but breakfast is our favourite meal there and we're headed back there again in August - hopefully capturing a few empty (dry!) Main St pictures of our own.

Happy Mothers Day to you all

No, it's not worth causing a stir over. Jill and I have just both noticed that this seems to happen to us at Crystal Palace and not at other places.

Ooooooh I cannot wait to have breakfast at Crystal Palace in September! It's just soooo good! And how nice that you were there for the Friendship Day "Celebrashun" I know how Brooklyn feels, I like it when the waffles have a clean cut on them too! Although I do usually pass up waffles there so I can stuff my face full of puffed french toast!

Happy Mother's Day to you Jill, MeMom and all of our other Dis-Mommies!

There were so many good things to choose from that you couldn't get all of them.

Unfortunately my sister wasn't able to get that information. I'm very sorry, I totally forgot to ask her about that till now! She never texted me the info so I'm not sure she was able to find them.

I should! I would loooooove to meet him!

Hope you and Jill have a great Mothers' day!

Okay, thanks for letting us know. So whoever is going next, the tutu information is still needed. :)

Happy Mother's Day to you MeMom and Jill!

Love the CP pictures! We have ADR's for breakfast this trip. That is one place we have hit every trip since our honeymoon!

I look forward to seeing the kids interacting with Pooh and pals.

I am thinking of some little booklets that I thought were at the counters, so I must be thinking of something different than what you are talking about. I am for sure going to be checking into this. ::yes::

We love Pop! We are also excited about trying out the new suites at Art of Animation - hopefully next summer! :cool1:

I did no laundry today. I needed to work on report cards, but I gave myself the gift of no school work for the weekend. ;)

What a sweet thing to say! I hope we can be good role models for all young mothers. This world needs lots of good mommies. :lovestruc

Tell Ed Jill and I were both jealous of his dinner today.

Happy Mother's Day, MeMom & Jill!

Happy Mothers Day MeMom and Jill!!!!

I hope all the Dismoms had a wonderful Mother's Day!

Hope you both had a most wonderful Mother's day!!!

Happy Mother's Day MeMom, Jill, and all of the other DIS mommies!

Thank you all for the good wishes here, on Facebook, and by phone today! We value our DIS friends very much. We hope you guys all had sweet moments with your kids and grandkids and other family members today. As I said before, this is a day to celebrate all the good women in our lives, moms or not.

I hope you and Jill, and all the other mommies here, had a great Mother's Day! I sure did.:goodvibes

I'm lucky in that I get along really well with my in-laws. My mother in law has been wonderful to me since my mom died. She and I got off to a little bit of a bad start but since I was only 16 back then we've grown way past that ( John was a good boy and stayed home all the time. When he started dating me he wanted to go out more, stay out later, etc. His momma thought I was a bad influence...until she got to know me better.:goodvibes). My worries about the trip are because she tends to overreact to his dad's behavior. He's a pretty fun guy but likes to joke around and "pick" on people. She gets worked up that he's bothering us, fusses, and he then gets in a sour mood. We keep telling her to not worry about him but it's not likely to happen. She means well but ends up causing more trouble than he does with his sarcastic mess.:sad2: I think if I (and Jill) just focus on our happy place, we'll be good. I know my kids are super excited to share their favorite things with their grandparents and I bet Bella and Brooklyn especially will be excited to do that as well. Seeing that magic through the eyes of a child just makes everything else inconsequential!

Oh, CP lunch and dinner are the same...at least in our experience. We've been once for each meal. Worst character interaction we've ever had 2 of the 3 times. Always seems rushed and we miss at least 1.:confused3

You can check out that site and it explains the Discovery Club stations at Animal Kingdom. It is free! We did it in January of 2009, and my kids enjoyed collecting the stamps. (Really, I didn't think it was super exciting, but the kids liked it and you can't beat the price! Just another way to make a magical memory.) If you scroll to the end of that page, I think it mentions the book you saw for sale, MeMom.

I hope you all had a Happy Mother's Day!

Maybe our next Crystal Palace meal will be a lunch, if the menu is the same, because lunch at WDW restaurants is usually a few dollars cheaper. We go at a lot of holiday times, and they bump the price up already, so meals can be very costly.

John's mom looked down on Jill because she came from a divorced mother, and that was not anything she wanted invading her perfect family. I think she set the tone for the relationship, and it really hasn't changed. I don't see them ever being close, but I guess they both tolerate each other for the sake of the family unit.

We did have a nice Mother's Day. :goodvibes

We've been to all those stops, but I don't guess I knew about getting the free stamp thing in the booklet. Brooklynn and I will check that out in July, and she'll probably want to make it a regular thing. That booklet that you can buy is what I was talking about. We have the second one (Discovery Club Guide) around here somewhere. I got some for my class a few years back. Thanks for that link!

We had a nice weekend. Trent and Tanya went out on a boat with friends yesterday to wakeboard, I chilled out at home, Drew went out to do his bike stuff and take some pictures, and Jill went home to wait with the girls as their new swingset was finished up. I fell asleep as I was reading, and when I woke up, there was a card on the kitchen table from Jarvis. It was a cute 101 Dalmatians Mother's Day card telling me thank you for letting him be a part of our family. I laughed and texted him a thanks and told him I guess he heard me snoring away! He said yeah, and he didn't want to disturb me. He was probably laughing to himself as he left the card. ;)

Have a Marvelous Monday everyone! Just a few more weeks now, and it is time for a break around here!!! :dance3:

5 more weeks including this one. Only 3 of those weeks are full weeks, however.
Hope the rain didn't last very long for you guys. I know well about rain in Disney by now.:lmao:
CP looks great. Emily wants to have dinner for her birthday there in November.
Have a nice Monday.:goodvibes

Happy Mothers Day, and Happy Monday too!!! I looked on the calendar today & it's only 8 weeks til 4th of July on the Poly Beach!!!! :)

Have a great week!!

Thanks for that link. We've seen at least a couple of these but now DD is a pre-schooler this will be perfect for our next trip! :thumbsup2

I'm glad you had a relaxing Mother's Day, MeMom! You definitely deserve one. :) I'm bummed that we'll miss you by so little in October. We're arriving on the 20th now, had to shave off a day for financial reasons of course. Bummer but hopefully we will cross paths in Disney someday! I'd sure love to meet you, Jill and your family in person.

So happy that you had a good Mother's day! I sure did! I spent it with my grandparents and uncle! We went to the movies and they saw Thor and I saw Prom (cute movie!) and then we came back home and sat on the porch (it was 84) and we all drank mojito's and played canasta and grilled out for dinner! Great mother's day!
