We're trying CP for the first time next month so thanks for those pictures! The inside of the restaurant looks really cool and the buffet looks DELICIOUS. It's just Chris and I for this one so without any kids, it's not SUPER important if we see all the characters or not so that's fine with us. I'd be a little annoyed if I was you guys with the two precious little ones and all the characters didn't come around to you!
Have a lovely weekend!!
We're not really ones to complain, but for the kids to see a character coming right at them be diverted never to return...it just makes them a little sad. Brooklynn would watch for them, of course, so she knew who was supposed to be headed her way and wanted them there. Bella wanted little to do with them, so it would have been different if we had just had her with us. I guess our thought is if you pay that much money to eat and interact with the characters, you should get to do that without it being a headache.
Great update! While you were at CP, Abby was getting transformed into a princess asking every few minutes "when do I get to see Brooklyn". It was so cute.
Hope you and Jill have a great Mothers Day!!!!
She sure was, and she was looking very much like beautiful Princess Abby when we saw her just a little while later.
Those CP pictures looks awesome! They are perfect timing to get me ever more exciting for my trip in 4 DAYS!!!
I have never eaten at CP before, so I'm really excited to try it out. Here is my Disney shameful disclaimer- I don't really like the Pooh characters. I don't have any real reason why, they are just not my style, so I have avoided CP because of that. I figured this time around it would be so fun to get empty MK photos and be in the perfect spot for rope drop, so I'm getting over my character aversion.
If anyone is interested I'll be tweeting and facebooking from the parks and you can follow along at @cndleonthewater for a little bit pixie dust from the World.
If you'd rather do facebook, PM me and I'll send you a link to my page.
Oh, and if anyone needs sku numbers for items, let me know and I'll do my best. I know there was a request for the tutu skirts, but I'm not sure if they got that info already.
You'll be in good shape, then, if you want a good breakfast but don't mind if you see all the characters. They have a lot of good food. Have you ever tried the Cape May breakfast? If not, consider it for a future trip. It has Minnie, Goofy, and Donald in beach attire, and the buffet is fantastic! Plus, the Beach Club is just a beautiful place to be on a Disney morning.
I think the tutu person did get that information from Meghan's sister, but maybe Meghan can let us know for sure. You just take as many shopping pictures as you care to, and we will enjoy them all!
Oh and for those of you Derby watchers- there is a horse in the race today named Animal Kingdom! I know who I'd be putting my money on!
When I told Trent about that, he said I should place a bet.
I wish I had followed that advice.
Morning all!
What a crazy busy week I just had....glad it's over!
I'm so glad power was restored in AL and everyone can get back to thier routines.
I'm sure it was wonderful spending the time together while it lasted.
I love the empty pics on Main St.....even with the rain.
I remember hearing about the rain and I was so disapointed for you.
I'm looking forward to having my first early walk down Main St. USA and seeing the castle without crowds around it.
CP breakfast will be a first for us and I'm excitted.
for not seeing Pooh...not cool!
.... adding Poolrat to the dismeet list.
I think when it get's closer to the time we can all try to co-ordinate a meet.
I'll be at MK on Oct.1st.
Just like Sunnystace we need to set a time and place and i'll be there.
... cause I'm going to miss having Memom, Brooklynnsmommy, Brooklynn and Bella at the Dismeet.
Be strong all my teacher friends....you can make it through these crazy days...there's a light in the distance not too far away...summer break is almost here!!!
Happy Saturday friends! Work today but I'm soo looking forward to being off tomorrow!!!
Teachers are also aware that so many of you do not have a break coming up, so we sympathize with you guys who have to work so much. I need my breaks often!
I am sad that we will miss all of you, too. I wish we could make both october trips - the first week and the
'I'm here to spoil Brooklynn' one.
We had a good time together. Jill had to leave some stuff here, too, because the car was too crowded with all of the camping stuff. She's coming back today to get it, so I get to see them again.
This is awesome!!! For sure he has to win!!!
I ran into a lady at the cash last night at Joann Fabrics (yes I was in the States yesterday) and she was buying stuff to make Derby hats.
She had peacock feathers and pearls etc.
Now it all makes sense.
FOR HAVING 4 DAYS TO GO!!!! That's so excitting!!!
And win he did!
This week would be so much more exciting with a Disney trip within reach.
From the sound of your class, summer can't get here quickly enough! CP pics are making me quite desirous of Disney---then again, when am I not.
There will be a few that I will be happy to see walking past my room to another one next year, I've gotta be honest.

They finally signed the papers just last week to place one of them in a special school next year, but he'll still finish the year out with me.
I don't know if I could make it through the day without my Disney fixes. I have the music playing in the background, I DIS with you guys, and I listen to the podcasts. I could be a little bit addicted.
Love the baby welcome...how fun for her baby book! CP breakfasts are really good! Glad you enjoyed your time......hope the rain cooperated afterwards!
The rain died down after another couple of hours.
We've had several Crystal Palace dinners, but that was our first breakfast. It was good.
I realize that I do not know you in REAL life...but it sounds like to me that John has a wonderful MIL! I too am a fan of my inlaws! They have always been wonderful to me and supportive of DH and I and Caleb! My MIL keeps two of the 4 grandkids daily! I couldn't have asked for better inlaws!
CP was my very first character meal when I was a senior in high school. We were on our band trip and my best friends parents took all four best friends plus their other 2 daughters for breakfast! We had soo much fun! Course Caleb has no idea who pooh and friends are...so that would probably be lost on him...but he would love Handy Manny at DHS!
Happy mothers day MeMom and Jill and to all the other DIS-Mommies!
I just try to lay low when John is around. We don't have much in common, so we don't talk much. He's a great help when something needs to be fixed around the house, and I very much appreciate that. I'm a help to him by keeping the girls while he and Jill get to go have some free time, so he appreciates that. Our parenting styles are very different - he's a lot more uptight and I'm more laid back - so we both bite our tongues a little, I think, for the good of the crowd. Other than that, it's okay. We don't argue or anything, but we just don't have much in common to converse about. He usually hangs out with Trent or watches TV or is on the computer while he's here.
Hi MeMom! I am mostly a lurker on your trip reports, but really enjoy keeping up with you and your family. I know that you love the Animal Kingdom, and my family feels the same way. Our last trip in April/May of 09, we spent a day and a half there. I was just wondering if Brooklyn had ever done the "Kid's Discovery Club" activities. This is when you go around to the Discovery Spots that are located in each area and complete a task (with the help of a CM if needed). My nephew did this for the first time when he was five, and really enjoyed it. You get passport stamps along the way, and then when you complete the last task you get a bonus stamp and you take a special pledge. That was definitely the highlight of his trip. I think this would be a fun thing for you and Brooklynn to do on your special trip together (if you haven't already).

Brooklynn has done the station where you try to figure out which animals are in the holes in the log. We have seen the little Discovery booklets, but we've never bought one. That might be a very good thing for us to do. Good suggestion!
And feel free to join in any time. Please make yourself at home here.
I SO want to do breakfast at CP! That buffet looks yummy! However, with just DD and I going this year, and since she only eats poptarts or cereal for breakfast, maybe a waffle or two, I've decided to do lunch there instead. One day I'll get to eat breakfast there and be on Main Street before park openin
The building alone is a beautiful place for pictures. I hope you do get that empty Main Street picture someday.

We love the dinner at Crystal Palace. I don't know how different the lunch is, if it is different at all.
Animal Kingdom won the Kentucky Derby!!!
And I did not place that bet.
Awwww...CP and a glorious buffet that it is, I too went this trip and never did see Pooh either...oh well!! Glad you and your gals had such a great bkfast there!! Loved that Tigger held up that sign!!! YAYAYAY!!!
I have to say that my students have been acting over the top good lately, I'm pretty sure its just the exhaustion of state testing mixed with the reality that they still have district exams and final exams before its all over. I'm thinking of renaming May to..Test til you Drop Month for my kids!!! OY and unfortunately I don't have any control over that!!!
Well I for one am looking forward to finally meeting you and Brooklynn!!!!
I am so glad your students have been good. Ours are feeling the end of the year, since they have announced Field Day and such. We're starting to have these end of the year programs, like the magician that came the other day. They know what all that means!
We'll be spending the next two weeks doing DIBELS testing and Running Records. Yuck, yuck, and more yuck.
We are looking forward to hooking up with you and
Wigd some, too.

Brooklynn loves being spoiled by her
Miss Anita Wigd.
Love the CP pics!! We will be there in just over 2 weeks. Nothing better than starting the week with an early breakfast at CP & walking down an empty Main St.
I hope you have a great Sunday & Happy Mother's day to you & Jill.
I am counting on all of you to bring back loads of great pictures!
Love the Main Street pictures; they are great even on a rainy day.
I started our PTR for our August trip. The link is in my signature if you would care to join in.
Happy Mother's Day!
I was just over there. You were still asleep, so I left you a message.
Everybody go over to declansdad's PTR and wake him up!
I haven't been to CP in years (I think I was in eighth grade, which meant Kailyn was around five and she's eighteen now!), so I don't remember a lot of it, but I do remember enjoying it. If they had Rabbit, I really think I'd hold out for eating there b/c he and Goofy have always been my favorite Disney characters.
Even though it was rainy in MK, I love the empty Main Street pictures.
Happy Mothers' day MeMom, Jill and all the other DIS mommies here!
Ooooh, Rabbit would be very cool! You should write that in to the WDW big shots!
Oh YES! We must have another someday! And, Miren has not forgotten about that ride.
What are your summer dates again? We don't have any summer Disney plans yet, but I'm thinking we might do a couple days at some point. We'll see what we can do...the past couple of years we've exchanged my parents' timeshare and had the "free" board but this year we're keeping our "home" resort, which is down in the Keys, and we're very much looking forward to having a very relaxing vacation with very good friends...but I'd also like to try to get atleast a few Disney days in there this summer.
Well, we may not have summer Disney plans yet...but we DO have next weekend Disney plans!!!! It's the four of us and the same friends that will be with us in the Keys (they have 2 boys, and our kids absolutely adore each other!). It's going to be just a short Thursday-Sunday trip but we're VERY excited, nonetheless!! I'll text you some pictures, if you'd like.
That very wet Main Street looks much like it did on our meet day (but with slightly less people).
Happy Mother's Day to all!!
We'll be there July 2nd though 7th. Not very long, but we had to cut it short because of a friend's wedding.
Brooklynn will love having a ride with Miren. Any chance of you guys being there in October?
It was raining when we met, and it was a whole lot hotter and more humid, too.

This MK rainy morning was not that bad, and thankfully, it did not last very long.
Happy Mother's Day, MeMom , Jill and all!
We wish you the same, as well!
To all of our DIS moms - we wish you the most beautiful day with your families. You guys are such a delight to hang out with, and you moms are doing such incredible things to raise these awesome kids! We have enjoyed meeting so many of you, and we are ready to meet so many more. Keep doing all you do, moms - in good times and bad - to give your kids all of those good values and morals and goals and dreams. They are going to impact this world in such a positive way because of your loving hearts! If every mom was like our DIS moms, what a wonderful world this would be! And if you are not a mom, we still celebrate you as a beautiful woman who influences lives in positive ways every day. Have a great, great day with those you love!
