First order of business for April 5th -
to Bella!!!!
We love you, sweet girl!
And a happy day for you, Mommy, since you are the one who did all the hard work on April 5th two years ago.
We're always on the prowl for new ideas. We steal some, and we tweak others.
There were trees down and telephone poles cracked in half in several places around here. As a matter of fact, the news people did their live report from the overpass right near our house, saying our area was one of the worst hit. There was a big tree down in a neighbor's yard as I drove in, but my trees were fine. If my trees fall, they'll fall right on my house, unfortunately.
The wind was strong enough to knock over a set of bleachers on the football field outside our classrooms. That's fairly strong.
Some people think the Animation area is pointless, but we enjoy it.
The thunder last night felt like it was picking up the houses, and it lasted a long time! It was probably the most powerful thunder I had heard/felt around here. It was rattling the whole house.
Trent had a very long day, and Tanya got the job.
I hope all of our DIS friends made it unharmed.
Lots of new things going on. We started off the week with tornado drills, though, so I'm wondering what that means for this week?
We do have a few that cry, but not many and not bad. Some of the CBIP kids have a tough time with it all. With their sensory issues, it's really rough on them. I always feel badly for them and for the people who work with them who are trying to explain it all.
Yes, we had sirens.
I think most of the damage was from straightline winds, though.
Sometimes we'll answer the character questions different ways just to see who all we can get to come up on the screen.
Thank you. I think two hugs were needed. I think Jarvis is supposed to come home tonight.
Tanya got the job and goes in for orientation today. She said it was a nice place. She wass interviewing during the storm, and she and the manager ended up moving away from the window they were sitting by.
I got two new students yesterday, too! They both seem to be sweet little girls, though, so I am hoping that what I saw is what they really are. I have my hands very full already.
I think the entire south got a good dose of storms yesterday.
We seldom lose power, for which I am grateful. We're near a hospital, so we think we may be on some heavy duty line because of that. Whatever it is, we've only lost power a few times in all the years we've been here.
I'm going to print off the pictures of Hamm and let the kids color them, but now I have to figure out what they're going to use for the banks. We may just wash out milk and juice cartons from lunch. I'm up for suggestions.

Ugh, poor Memom having to sit in the hallway all afternoon! Glad you got home and tucked safely inside eventually. The weather finally hit us about 10:00 last night. It wasn't too bad where we were except for the wind -- the plus side is I had my little boy all tucked up next to me while we watched the Weather Channel. Chelsea, on the other hand, was too busy baking cookies to let the storms bother her.
Bella and Brooklyn coloring are adorable. I was cracking up over Brooklyn deliberately painting Flounder the wrong color.

When I moved to Alabama from here...it was a real shock and scary for me to hear those sirens....all I could think of was the movie Twister...

I wish I had today off but I have to go in and cover for someone else.
Tomorrow night I have to work late and then pick up some groceries for Aaron.
Then try to go to sleep early because we will be getting up at 3am to drive to NYC.
If I don't make it back on here before I go...see you when I get back and I'll have some shopping picks for you.

These storms are something! I'm sorry you had them during school hours. We spent an hour in the same position a couple of years ago-not fun! Ours hit last night and this morning but they seem to be tapering off now. We have many people without power but I am grateful to have mine!

Sounds like a very scary afternoon yesterday in TN! While we're stuck with blizzards here in New England, I'm not sure if I'd trade them for tornados.

Happy Birthday, Bella! I am so glad you all are okay. I was thinking of everyone here yesterday that live in the path of the storm. It was mainly wind and rain by the time it got here. I have some great news! I am sitting in heart cath recovery right now while my DH is waking up from anesthesia. His heart cath went great. The hole in his heart is very small, no enlargement of his heart and the cardiologist does not recommend surgery. I am relieved to say the least!
Yay for Trent coming home! My prayers are still with Jarvis during this terrible time.

Tanya seemed fine through the storm. They went out to eat last night, but had to call several places before they found one that was open.
It is beautiful today. The sun is shining. It's cool, but warm weather is coming tomorrow.
Even kids Jeremy's age would like the coloring for a few minutes, I think. It's kind of neat, and there are different pictures to choose from.
I'll fill you in on the Math Fair when I have time to do it justice. I just have a little planning time left. I'll respond again tonight.
Tornadoes do much damage in a short time. It is crazy when they turn cars upside down or throw them up on hillsides.
I hope they both love their jobs, too.
I've seen Lotso from afar. There is so much to do in WDW and so little time to do it in. Maybe you'll get to do that area someday.
Jill and I are rejoicing with you. I was on the phone with her when I read your post, so I read it to her. We are thrilled for you all!

Well, that's handy! We are lucky enough to rarely lose power, too. A couple of years ago, there were some pretty bad storms and weather, and a LOT of houses in my city and even my neighborhood were without power for several days. A lot of the small businesses/stores were closed during that time, too. We were fortunate enough to not be touched by that, and so was my grandmother across the street. We lost it twice last summer. Once was when it was just my mom and Kailyn home -- it went out right in the middle of the afternoon, for about four hours. The other time was in the middle of the night, like 2 AM, when we were getting crazy thunderstorms. I remember my blinds were closed but the lightning was so bright it actually would illuminate my room for a few seconds. Everything went off right after the loudest crack of thunder I've ever heard. It's eerie when the lights and A/C go off at the same exact time.
