Geen Yight - She's Out of Sight: A Trip of Leaps and Bounds

Good morning! The new floor is going to be really nice! Love all the changes. A real spring cleaning for you :0) Now I am in the mood to do something but who knows what to our house. Love changing everything in the spring and have had very few changes here overthe years.
I love the curtain but I have to say for a second I was really looking for a hidden mickey like at the WDW hotels. Maybe you need a stamper to put a few. lol
The new loveseat is exactly the type I was looking for. did you get it at a big chain store ? Hoping I may yet have luck down here finding something similar. Although i really should wait. My MIL detested our old couch and got us a beautiful new one for Christmas and I have been a worrywart since with the baby, 11 yr old and husband to keep it clean. For some reason they insist on being allowed on the one really nice piece of furniture. Can you imagine. LOL

Hope your day is great!

All this talk about Hot Wheels has got me sentimental.
Aaron turns 17 this Saturday and I've been feeling a little bit of..."where did the time go?" :sad1:

He had a whole Hot Wheels city with a garage, fire station, police station, various other stores and even a McDonalds.
He always called McDonalds..."Happy fries" growing up. Too cute!
I would listen to him play with those cars and he was quite animated, they drove to jobs and had families. (it was adorable)

For this birthday...he is getting a small tattoo...
His whole group of friends has the same one and he is one of the last ones because I havn't give my permission up to now.
Thing is he really wants it and next year he will get it if not now and I won't be able to stop him...so I decided to make his birthday wish come true.
My only stipulation was it must be in a place that can be covered by clothes..so on th leg it will be.
We had our take out Chinese food dinner last night for him as he will be gone all weekend with friends.

Floors will look great when they are complete.
You must be so anxious to get it all finished.
The shower curtain is perfect! And the leaves are a cool touch too!

I can picture the girls in those dresses...they will look so pretty! Very spring/summer like!

Mickeyfan71 my DMom had both wrists done at the same time and she has never regretted the carpal tunnel surgery.
Good luck with the healing, it's tough but you will love the results.

Your new floor will be beautiful! Love the shower curtain too! Can't wait to see the finished rooms!

Great!! Just send me a PM or a FB message with your address when you have a chance and I'll get it out to you.:goodvibes

Ditto! I think I still have Memom's address so I could always send a box there instead.

Memom: Love the new floor! That's what I'd like to have in my kitchen one day. :thumbsup2 on the shower curtain, hooks and cute dresses for the girls!

Have fun with all your fun new stuff! The bathroom looks GREAT!!

I have a DIS prayer request - if you all could keep my SIL (Caroline's mom) in your prayers I'd appreciate it. She's 12 wks pregnant & has had a few miscarriages so we're all crossing our fingers & praying for her & the baby. They aren't telling anyone until she is further along but my mom, dad and I know.

Thanks friends!!

I read in the paper today that a new Disney Store with an interactive concept opened today at Perimeter Mall. Next time in are in the Atlanta area we need to have a Dis meet there to check it out. Perimeter Mall is just minutes off of 285.

I LOVE the shower curtain and hooks! Our shower just has a glass door, so our bathroom is no fun to decorate :(.
That flooring is going to be so nice! Must make the whole place feel so new and clean!
I know better than to just wander into the girls' section at Kohl's! I dress my girls alike most of the time (while they're young enough to let me do it:thumbsup2), and they always have such good deals on cute dresses. I just can't resist!

One of my friends went to the opening today and met Jodi Benson! I would have packed up the kids and headed over there if I had known! If there are ever any dismeets around Atlanta, let me know!

looks good and those dresses are to cute! We are going to start tearing out our upstairs bathroom this week! its getting a complete re-do! Bye Bye 1970's gold! Hopefully it does not take DH long because that is where our only tub in the house is! We never use the downstairs shower but looks like we are going to start!

I feel so much better now that I've been taking yesterday and today for myself! I took a nice long pampering bath and slept in today and have just been doing what I want! The kitchen looks so nice, love the new linoleum! The shower curtain is great! I'll have to take a look at it when I go there next time! Love the dresses! I had a dress exactly like that except it was pink gingham when I was 3! I still have the photos :) Have a great afternoon!

I love your new kitchen floor. I need new flooring in my Kitchen so bad. We moved in 24 years ago in June and it has the original flooring. But as you point out Disney trips are more fun.

Love the new kitchen floor! I have finished hardwood floors in my room, but whoever lived here before we did, decided to cover it up with tile. And, rather than put it down properly, they used double-sided tape to lay the tile over the hardwood. My dad and I discovered that when he ripped up a piece of tile to check the floors underneath. The hardwood is really nice, except for the black tape all over it. :sad2: I am taking the week of my birthday as a paid vacation from work, so maybe if I'm feeling ambitious and like I can live with some black tape on the floors, I might rip up the tiles, since I do have an area rug that covers up a good amount. Purchasing an area rug was the first thing I did when we started tearing up the rug and discovered what was underneath. :rotfl2:

Those shower curtains are perfect for your AKL bathroom! Love them!

Looks like a great start.

I hope things get a big push tomorrow and you are able to get everything back without taking Friday off to do that. You want to save your day taking for Disney.

There's a dryer sitting in the middle of my den. There's a new stove in my kitchen, and boy, does it look different! The floor is almost finished. :cool1:

Tomorrow, the floor gets finished, and the dryer gets moved into its new home - the laundry room. :thumbsup2

The nice floor and stove make the counters and cabinets look pretty bad.

Congrats on the good grabs on your ADR wish list! Makes me hungry to read your list. It's been a few weeks since our ADR day, and I've kept the whole trip secret from our princess so far. I laugh at myself, too, though. I'm notoriously awful about keeping Disney secrets. We say we'll just scoot her off to the airport as a total surprise. But then I inevitably weaken, because I'm bursting with excitement & I want her to share the fun of anticipation & planning. The closest I've gotten to a surprise departure is 10 weeks' notice! I hope to shave at least a few weeks off this time, but maybe still keep the ADRs secret.

I wouldn't be good at holding out, either. I'd want everyone to share in the fun and anticipation.

Oh yum, yum, yum! This update had me drooling! You know I love MM! And I loved the pic you sent me while you guys were eating there. Did you ever look for the hidden Mickey on the dog statue in the lobby?

I love the shower curtain! It is definitely AK/AKL feeling!

We had already left when I got your text. Next time. :thumbsup2

I hope when I get it all put together, you can tell better what it really looks like.

We also love eating at Mama Melrose's. They have good Sangria.

Your new flooring looks a lot like ours in our kitchen. We also had curling linoleum that they just covered over. We had our floor done last spring. I love it. Very easy to clean. You beat me to a new stove though. I cannot wait to get a flat top. We still have to pay off the new fridge first. We got zero percent interest at Lowe's so I will be done with that payment in May. We are updating little by little also.

Those dresses you bought the girls are adorable & they will look adorable in them.

Love your shower curtain & hooks. They look great together.

The oven angels were singing at my house when I walked in. It's a beautiful sight.

My money is running out fast, though, so I may have to wait on the tub surround. I forgot to factor in new curtains, a clothes hamper, and little odds and ends in my budget, and they add up.

The new floor looks great, and you know you get a nod of approval from me for the new shower curtain!!!

I hope you like the finished product. After I get the AKL print, I'll try to get a good picture.

A Hidden Mickey? Hmmm....

I got that loveseat at Target. It's an indoor/outdoor, so very casual.

No tatoos for me. I have no desire to be 'branded' in any way.

Don't you wish you could sit and watch video of your son playing? I wish I had video of mine.

Love the pics of your home updates

The kitchen is empty, but it looks so different.

Your new floor will be beautiful! Love the shower curtain too! Can't wait to see the finished rooms!

Me, either. :goodvibes
I think I am going to take off Friday to put it back together. I'll be in a better frame of mind for the weekend if I don't have to do all of this on Friday night after a school day.

Ditto! I think I still have Memom's address so I could always send a box there instead.

Memom: Love the new floor! That's what I'd like to have in my kitchen one day. :thumbsup2 on the shower curtain, hooks and cute dresses for the girls!

Send it on! The girls love mail from DIS friends. :dance3:

I used to have a glass shower door, but years ago it came off its tracks and shattered everywhere. It was a huge mess. I'm happy enough with a shower curtain after that experience. I'm sure they make them much better now, though, but I'm sticking with a shower curtain.

They had a lot of dresses on sale, but that was one of two that had matches in their sizes.

I really like your new floor. I hope you get everything done before the big party.

As do I. I need to call in reinforcements. Tonight, everything has to be pulled out of the hall closets for him to finish the floor, so I still have messes yet to make.

A nice soaking hot bath sounds great. I need another snow day to do what I want to do. :goodvibes

Looks good Memom! Can't wait to see the finished product! Love the AKL bathroom!

You'll be able to see it in party pictures in a few days. Right now, there is nothing on the walls.

I could have had a Disney trip for what I am paying for this, but I am very happy to be spending the money on the house this time.

As much as I would love to give you pictures tonight, I have to go unload closets. I had two S-team meetings today - one lasted two hours and the other didn't start until after school. It's been looong, and I haven't slept much the last two nights. I think it will be several days before we get back to trip pictures, so I apologize.

Sorry I was behind again.:confused3

Loved all the updates and shopping pictures! I wish I had a little girl to wear those skirts. MM looked real good. We haven't been there so we need to try it. We also like to try a new place each trip.

Love your new floor. We really like the laminate we put in the front room. It makes the rest of the house look bad since the carpet really needs to be replaced. I can't wait to see your finished kitchen.

I also like the new shower curtain. I have to check it out the next time I'm at WallyWorld. The girls bathroom is AK themed. Michelle very briefly moved out her Soph year of college (she was gone 2 months). She had bought a zebra print curtain and was just dying to use it again when she moved back home. She had paired it with hot pink towels. At the time Brent was living here doing his student teaching. There was no way I was going to make him use a bathroom with hot pink accents. We used the shower curtain and brought some different animal print stuff to accent. We have some zebra stuff, some cheetah and assorted other animals. Some stuff came from Wally World, some from Hobby Lobby and some from Dillards (towels on clearance). I don't have a lovely print but we do had a picture hanging in there. We bought a frame from Target that holds 3 4x6 pictures. We cut out different animal prints to fill the slots. Cheap and cute.

I've peeked in and out this week, just trying to keep our heads (report) above water. When the house gets back to normal and the party is over, we'll get back to normal.

My carpet probably fell apart in his hands when he pulled it out. :upsidedow

*************************************

Just to let you guys know, since you've been so kind, Trent called us today to report that the family had called Jarvis to come back home, because his mom was not doing well. He did not make it before she passed away. I texted with him a few minutes ago. He said he was okay, as they had been expecting this off and on for a while now, as we all knew. He said he felt very blessed to have us as family here, too. We feel blessed to have him around, too. :) He was scheduled to do one of his body building shows this weekend, and he's planning to go ahead and do that, then go straight from there back home for the funeral. I don't know how he could concentrate, but people are different, and I guess he feels comfortable with his plans. He trains so hard and sacrifices so much before these competitions, and although I totally don't understand the love for this kind of thing, I know about having a passion for something. Maybe it will be good for him to go through with things as normal and not go right on back to Michigan to spend the whole weekend being sad. Keep him in your thoughts.

So sorry to hear about Jarvis's mom! Please pass on our condolences. I can understand him wanting to go ahead and compete this weekend. His mother would probably have wanted him to, and maybe he'll win, for her. He's lucky to have your family, now more than ever!

Please give Jarvis our condolences. He does not know us but I feel like we know him. Sending him and his family prayers.
