Geen Yight - She's Out of Sight: A Trip of Leaps and Bounds

I'd love to have new windows here. These are a mess. Good for you guys getting your house all fancied up. :)

Have fun with your cousin and at the ball game!

My mom's been getting stuff done on the house a little at a time. We had my bathroom remodeled 6 years ago, and then we had hers remodeled. Then we had the big window in the living room replaced. This year the roof is being fixed and the windows and shingles on the back of the house and on one side are being replaced. Next year the ones on the front and the other side are being replaced. The old windows were in pretty bad shape. We couldn't really get most of them open anymore and they were letting in a lot of cold air in the winter. The roof definitely needed work. This past winter was rough with several feet of snow piling up!

Thank you! :goodvibes

Brooklynn's ballet pictures are adorable!!! She has beautiful feet :) As a former dancer/teacher...its one thing I notice about all dancers!!!
Yay for Bella and her character interaction!!! Hopefully she'll be even more willing this trip to get closer!!!

Yes, I am. I just have to sneak over here to the DIS sometimes to break up the monotony of the reading. For some reason, there aren't pictures of Disney characters in my textbook and articles. :confused3:laughing:

:lmao::rotfl::rotfl2: John reminds me a lot of Charles! Charles is always super excited about the meals.

Okay, I think today is "Just Two More Nights in Tennessee for MeMom" pixie dust...

pixiedust:pixiedust:

Jill, the pictures from Brooklyn's recital are priceless!!! :goodvibes

That's what I told the girls this morning - two more Tennessee night-nights and one Alabama night-night, and then we roll! :cool1:

I do not envy the time you are spending having to read and study. I'll probably envy the pay raise you'll get because of it, though. ;)

I love the pictures of the recital. I saw them on FB too. Brooklyn and her friends are so adorable!
It is getting even closer!! I am so excited for you.
I love the pics of Bella with Aurora. I really hope she opens up to the characters this time.

They were four happy little girls flittering all over the place that night. They were also ready to fall asleep sitting straight up by the time the show ended.

What great dance recital pictures! Brooklynn makes a beautiful ballerina :goodvibes

It was fun - albeit a bit long for the pre-schoolers. We thought maybe they should have let them take their bows and leave at intermission. Jill and another mom suggested that to the teacher, I think. This is kind of a new program, maybe only a year or year and a half old. She said she was so caught up in the program that she didn't really think about long that was for the little ones. I think the suggestion was given and taken very well, so that should help other families in the future.

I need to do all of that to this house. I'll probably do the most needed thing after each income tax refund until it all gets done.

I'll have to tell Brooklynn what you said. She'll think that's funny, and if she has shoes on at the time, I bet she'll take them off and check out her feet.:laughing:

In just a few days, we'll see how Bella reacts to her Disney friends. :woohoo:

Sorry, I don't remember seeing the kids meals in the Mickey plates last year but I'll ask Lexi...she remembers everything! ;)

I know I've seen Mickey plates at Walmart. The paper plates with his picture, maybe you'll have to get those.

I havn't made any group plans for NYE yet, other than planning on meet up at the POLY beach later that evening.
I just figured I'd try for an 'Ohana ADR and then I would be right there.
I thought about the Luau but I read so many "not so good reviews" that I'll save that experience for another time.
1900 Park Fare sounds like a good choice too...you can just walk over from what I have read. :thumbsup2

I'm sure you will enjoy 'Ohana and want to go back.
It's always fun to try something different and new. :)

I will have the store ship them straight to you. That way they'll be packed correctly and you could return anything if there was a problem/breakage, etc. Are you talking about the cheap tote bags, like the ones they always sell in Disney Stores?

The one I saw online was $9.99 but if they are sold out or you can't find it feel free to throw in a couple of the regular tote bags. I will pm you my address.

You have been bitten by the Disney bug. I'm afraid you are in for a lifetime of missing Disney now. ;)

I will freely admit that I was bitten by the Disney bug when I was about 5 years old.

So I need a tentative plan for your trip. I always love knowing where you are headed each day.... so maybe before your last two sleeps in TN I can see one... please.

We may try to get to both of those places on arrival day, depending on what time we get there. Is the Publix overpriced? We normally stop at the Ocala Walmart to stock up on fresh fruit and snacks before we finish our drive, but we could wait until we got to Publix if they have just normal prices.

I didn't notice it being overpriced. I'm pretty sure it is comparable to the Publix I shop at here at home! The Character Outlet has some awesome deals if you catch them on a good day. Sometimes I don't find too much, but sometimes I hit the bonanza! There's also a Vera Bradley Outlet that has fantastic prices! l

The black plastic deep dishes with three sections are no longer in use at any of the places we've eaten. We'll still keep an eye out for whatever they might have in the way of plates, but Target is a good place for finding Disney dinnerware quite often.

We'll let you know what we're doing NYE - 'Ohana, Park Fare, or something new that we haven't tried - shortly after this trip, after we have time to check out 'Ohana. For the sake of convenience, I'd like to do a monorail resort, since we'll be going to Poly later.

I'll take your information with me. :thumbsup2

I believe the beginnings of my 'all things Disney' love started with the Mickey Mouse Club way back a long, long, looong time ago. ;)

So I need a tentative plan for your trip. I always love knowing where you are headed each day.... so maybe before your last two sleeps in TN I can see one... please.

I'll tell you what I know and let Jill fill in the rest.

Friday - arrive at our DTD resort, go to DTD, not sure what else, early bedtime

Saturday - check into Pop, really early, Crystal Palace breakfast, try to see Rapunzel and Flynn, Magic Kingdom for however long, back to Pop to put our stuff in our rooms, go to Wilderness Lodge for a DIS meet with jeremysdisneymom and Happydog, head to Hollywood Studios for whatever we can get in and Fantasmic

Sunday - Hollywood Studios, so we can ride Toy Story Midway Mania and see Ed (he only works on Sat. & Sun.), Epcot in the afternoon for Garden Grill and whatever we can do at Epcot

Monday - not sure, maybe Animal Kingdom?, possibly Epcot to see the special Voices of Liberty show, 'Ohana dinner and Poly beach for fireworks later with Katie, her family, and KristEn, and Dave and Kathy.

Tuesday - not sure, maybe Magic Kingdom, if we stay out late at Poly, we may sleep in a little

Wednesday - I think it is Animal Kingdom day, try to meet Tinkergurl20 at Pop sometime in the afternoon

Thursday - probably another sweep through Magic Kingdom, leave that evening

All of that is subject to change We have AP's and can go anywhere at any time. We're not locked in to anything. We want to make 'Ohana, for sure, but if Garden Grill day messes things up, we can easily do that another trip. We will go with the flow, as always, and we won't push much of anything. We've learned to enjoy the slower pace and more rest time. We'll swap out a little. Sometimes when they all go for a nap, I'll go on my walking adventures. If Jill and John want to go somewhere to eat or ride a couple of rides, I'll go to some things with the girls or hang out with them at the kiddie pool. We may do a little resort hopping, since we enjoy that. I told Jill about an event that she and I might do - and I've never seen anyone report about it, so we'll keep it a secret for now and tell you about it if we get to do it. :goodvibes

Bella has plans to ride the Carrousel about 97 million times. Brooklynn has plans to ride Space Mountain. Jill has plans to ride her favorite rides and get some R&R away from work. John has plans to eat. I just have plans to do whatever and enjoy my favorite place with some of my favorite people.

Jill, you can add to or take away from any of that.

Okay, we'll keep all of that in mind. This is shorter than our normal summer trips, so I don't think we'll be going off property unless we do it that first night.

Next summer, when we're back to normal, we're hoping to drive over to Vero for the day or possibly for an overnight visit with some DIS folks. :cool2:

man that stinks about the plates. I am pretty sure they were there when we went Feb 2010...but I am sure lots of things have changed!

If I can;t get them...then the kids will just eat of the black, red and yellow plates that I got at walmart. Haven't seen paper mickey mouse plates at Walmart...maybe thats a Canadian Walmart thing? If so, then i will try to check out a Canadian Walmart when we go to Canada in August.

I hope you get everything you need for a great party. Dixie used to have some Disney paper plates, but they only were out for a few months that I knew of. The red, yellow, and black combo sounds perfect. No Disney Store near you, I guess? :sad2:

In France, we also came across a kitty cat.

Bella loves trying to find my kitty at home wherever he is hiding,
but she was happy to see this kitty from afar.

We got to see the finished product in some of your reports.

Looks like the crowds were pretty light that day! How lovely for touring the WS!

I love the little details around the France pavillion. It seems like it has so many things tucked away...well, all of them do, really!

The kiddies and I were looking through our January pics and I saw this one and thought of you MeMom and I just had to post it.

disney2011508.jpg

DH took this pic with his android phone somewhere in the AK. I think it's just lovely.

Hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

Bella is getting more and more brave - I bet she'll be even better for this trip. :thumbsup2

I LOVE the F&G pictures. I would love to make another spring trip one of these years. I'd like to get my 2012 trip(s) planned out but we're batting around some larger family gatherings so I'll have to wait a bit. I think I am pretty set on an October trip with Caroline for MNSSHP. I'm talking that over with her Mom and Dad.

I would like some input from everyone; what resort would be best for me and a 3 1/2 year old? I've stayed at POP and I do love it there, but I wouldn't mind trying somewhere new. Which of the moderates do you all think are best?? I am also crossing my fingers there will be free dining during that time. :cheer2: I hope so!

Bella is thinking about that kitty, but it's huge!

I love Brooklynn's head peeking out! Too cute!

It wasn't bad. Going at an 'off' time was okay. This trip will see a big change in the crowds.

I still have a lot of details yet to photograph in World Showcase. ::yes::

It is beautiful. Thanks for sharing. We really all love Animal Kingdom, and its beauty is one of the reasons.

It kind of look likes the area on the left as you are walking through the 'valley' of the gorillas, but I don't know.

With her, I would stick with Pop just because of the kiddie pool. She can walk in and out of it alone - no stepping down into it or crawling up on a ledge. Plus, you are familiar with Pop and will feel plenty at home and safe there. They are refurbing Movies right now, too, and she would probably love the big icons there, but you could always go over there just for pictures at some point in the trip.

Moderates are spread out more, unless you go for French Quarter, and with a little one, the values have more fun themes.

We're hoping the next round of codes has free dining for our October trip, too.

I'm sure the 'bigness' of the characters does factor in. I like it when they get way down on the ground with kids.

Brooklynn thought she was big enough to put her head in a higher opening, but she didn't have very much luck with that.

IMG_1885.jpg

She tried, though. :thumbsup2

Love all the topiaries! They are all so pretty!

I wonder what Bella thought of Marie? I can only imagine what a child that age must be thinking! My DD got a Marie t-shirt for her upcoming trip so she is a must see for us. We have met her on both previous trips purely by accident. Now that we are going to be looking for her, I bet we can't find her! :lmao: Btw, our Walmarts here have a ton of Disney t-shirts in the girls department on clearance. That's where I got the Marie one and they had several others that were really cute for only a couple of dollars.

You leave THIS Friday! How exciting! I'm working from Thursday all through the weekend because of the holiday. It will be so much fun knowing you guys are there!

We're very, very close to booking our January trip. My brother decided he is going to come, too! We're looking at something like January 3-10. Nothing is booked yet, but we're going to soon, I think. My mom has been reading the boards again and texted me today with "I forgot about the new caramel shop in Disney!!!!!" I really, really want to have a ticker again!
