Geen Yight - She's Out of Sight: A Trip of Leaps and Bounds

This was Sunday, right? We were over at AK.

I can't recall seeing a crowd like that, but it does seem to get tight in that area most times of year. I think the longest wait we had was 20 min (we did use FP a lot though). But, even for bigger ticket rides, I think Thunder Mtn was a 20 min standby wait.

Jil, can you be my personal shopper. I will give you cash and you can buy as you wish:). Why did I miss those plates. I love them, but don't remember seeing them. I always breeze through the gift shops or are always looking at the plush animals. Three made thier way home with us this trip!

Dawn - I did the 1st princess 5 k with a stroller when my son was a week away from 1 yr old. He did really well because e was used to me taking him out walking/running. It was cold so he was bundled but he did not sleep. He just looked around and went along for the ride. That being said I do not think I would try it with him now at 3 yrs old. :0) Good luck.

Thanks! Seth loves his stroller at this point - I'm just not sure how he'll be in 6 months. Now that the weather is getting nice I'm going to put our jogging stroller to use, so he will be used to it as long as he tolerates me jogging with him in it. I think he will. I e-mailed the people in charge of the races yesterday asking them if I could change my registration status if needed....still waiting to hear from them.

I remember the whole potty situation. Poor Brookie. I was nervous about the automatic flushers with Little Guy, but they never seemed to bother him.

Yay! You're finally at the MK! I love the pics out in front of the train station for the new theme. Do you have any pics of all of them?

Wow, lots of construction going on. What are they doing near the bridge to Adventureland? I hope they aren't getting rid of the bumps. They are one of those random memories I have from my younger years at WDW!

They changed the restaurant to Tortuga Tavern? I didn't know they were doing that! It'll probably still be a CS place?

Yowza, that does look a little bit crowded in Frontierland!

Loved the PhilharMagic pics. I've never really taken the time to look around their gift shop. They have some cute shirts! And oh my gosh, that plate is so cute!

How fun you got to meet up with some friends! :)

Poor Brooklyn!!!!! :scared1: I wouldn't have gone for the rest of the trip!! The CM was great at least! I'm glad the carnations made her happy at least! And you still did get to MK and do some shopping! I need to get one of those Small World snowglobes for my collection! And I love those candy boxes!!

Poor Brooklyn with the potty break:scared1:. but you all handled it great. I don't know if I would have been able to stop with just a change of clothes. i probably would have had to hose my kid down. lol I'm a bit of a germ a phobe.;)

Love the tshirts in the gift shop. I have never really spent time in that shop either. I always try to blind fold my son and run out of them. I guess I should stop and look around more.

And the candy boxes...yup, I would buy the candy just for the boxes:rolleyes1 too cute!

Oh dear, poor Brooklyn in the restroom. Those toliets use to scare Danielle too. And having water come back at you is the worst. But the CM did great at helping to fix the problem. :thumbsup2

The flowers really are beautiful! I love your little treat you bought the girls. I know my kids always loved eating on special plates. I still have some in the cabinet for when little ones come over.

Poor Brooklynn!! Hollie always hated those flushers too! The first time we took her to Disney, she flipped out! She had just sat down and it started flushing! She thought it was gonna flush her down the toilet!! lol

/
Yea for the new trip report!! I thougt I signed on earlier, but better late than never!!
Hope and good thoughts on Aunt Joan's speedy recovery!

Your reports always leave me with a smile... thanks for sharing your life with us:cool1:

Poor Brooklynn! She's such a good girl for handling it so well. So nice of the CM for helping you out. :) Iagree with Dawn- seriously only in Disney!

Yikes Frontierland looked like a zoo  Hope the crowds got better during the rest of your trip.

I am subbing late...just got back from a trip to the World. I have read your other reports but usually as a lurker or after you have completed them. I am coming out of lurkdom to send my appreciation for such great reports!:worship:

We seemed to pick the right park every day. We didn't have any trouble with crowds. AK wasn't bad at all that day, but when we got to MK I couldn't believe it. I already wasn't feeling well from the heat and the crowds made it worse so we just road the train all the way around twice, then got off at Main Street and went back to WL  But it was better meeting you guys there anyway since it was so peaceful and not at all crowded!

I get to see Kazin tonight :) We're all going out to eat tonight. Yesterday was the one year anniversary of the day my aunt died, and today is her birthday. She died a day shy of 59 last year. We were thinking about going out last night but we decided it would be better to go on her birthday. We're going to one of her favorite restaurants :)

Good to see you back. I see you took the plunge and moved to PR.

I wish you luck in this next chapter of your life and hope you make it back to the mouse someday.:goodvibes
Glad to be back. Thank you. I also hope I make it back to the mouse one day.

I can't wait to take many pictures of all the new stuff across the lake. Do you think they'll keep them separate or open the bridge? Has Ed heard anything?

Yes, have some Disney parties down there to keep the happiness going!

Enjoy the new podcasts. With them on the endcaps of the week and DIS and Lou Mongello in the middle, you can have a lot of Disney fun.

I think they might open the bridge. I think it would be the best plan then guests can walk between the resorts. I believe that was the original plan when it was supposed to be "Legendary Years". He hasn't heard much about it. If I still worked at Pop, I imagine I know something. :rotfl:

My prayers and good thoughts go out to your Aunt Joan and family. I hope the surgeries went well and that she has a speedy recovery.

I was deathly afraid of turbo toilets as a child too. :scared1:My mother had trouble making me sit.

Poor Brooklyn! But wow, that cast member was awesome! He really went above and beyond to make your day magical! I wonder if it is someone who I knew.

The flowers at the entrance are so pretty. They just make want to go back as soon as possible. The bad things is there is not another trip in the works at this time. I promised my dh husband our next trip would be to the beach. Staying at the CBR do not fulfill that request.

I loved the shopping pictures, the hardest part about our last trip was trying to fine just one are two things for my new nephew. I wanted to buy it all. When we returned the first thing my mom said was what did you buy the baby. She knew I could not resist. I ended up getting him one of the Mickey future nerd shirts and the five 5 set for the tub and chewing.

I did manage to get the measuring spoons for myself. Then waited until the night before we left to get the measuring cups, but mousegears and the CBR
gift shops was out of them. I guess I will need to plan another trip to buy the cups. I also found a cute small spoon rest from the chief mickey line of kitchen wares that was cute and cheap.

Enjoy your new kitchen! I can't wait to see pictures!

What a nice CM to do all those things following the potty incident. I don't blame Brooklyn on those turbo flushers... they are a bit scary!

Looks like a beautiful morning in the MK. I am in love with the purple & yellow Mickey in flowers at the entrance. That color combo is so vibrant!

Seems like a lot of construction throughout the whole park! I guess maybe they're just trying to get it all done at once and have everything be brand spanking new for the Fantasyland re-introduction?

I agree about the "ladies" on the Tortuga Tavern sign.

Those MK plates are cute. I might have to get one... it could help me with portion control and be a touch of Disney in my day.

Hope you're enjoying your spring break!

I thinking they probably are trying to get as much as possible done before the official 40th anniversary weekend in October.

Since we only got four days, they have flown by, especially since I'm doing all the house stuff. I am sure glad we got that Disney vacation in earlier! :thumbsup2

Also, you had me totally cracking up over the toilet episode. Oh my, I have been there! My DD was also terrified of those things and still is. I too have to go in the stall and cover the sensor! I could just picture it all in my mind as I was reading the story. Too bad for the delay and the drama, but for the freebies! There is no telling how much money you got in the form those meals in exchange for a little toilet water!

Praying for your aunt to recover quickly also!

HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY!!!!

Brooklynn 'took one for the team', I guess. Bubby got to eat for free because of it. :cool1:

Poor Brooklyn, I am sure that was not a fun experience. So glad that the CM made the day brighter.

I love the new look as you walk in main street with the memories celebration. Boy, those flowers were very pretty as well.

Can't wait to read more!

Brooklynn was happy with the flowers, and the grown-ups were happy with the meals. :goodvibes

The toilet craziness just has to happen to the one that is fearful, doesn't it? Erin and Ava are not fans of that type of toilet either. Yay for Brooklyn handling it so well and for Disney making it better for her. I can just picture her proudly carrying her flowers around.
I love your picture of the flowers as you were going into MK. So pretty!

The colors were so pretty and so bright. That purple and yellow really stood out.

Not a good way to start the morning for Brooklynn.

Love the flowers at MK!! So pretty.
Those Small World shirts are so cute & the boxes for the candy-good idea.

Those plates you bought are very cute.

I also agree about those "ladies" on the sign. I did not even notice-I had to go back & look at the pic again.

I always want to buy Jill those cute t-shirts, because she looks good in them.

I was proud of the plates. There were only two out, so I grabbed them. I've learned my lesson in Disney World. Whatever it is, just buy it now, or you may never see it again!

Love this picture. I can just imagine being right there in the middle of the crowd. Of course I think it also helps that I'm listening to the DIS radio!

The potty story is too funny, and I'm glad Brooklynn got the flowers to make her feel better. So sweet.

Love Philharmagic and the T-shirts in the shop.

Well, it's been fun shopping with you this morning, but I guess I better get to work. I guess the boss would probably appreciate it.

Have a great day.

DIS Radio for me, too, in the background as I go from one room to another moving things around.

Ok not too bad a picture. lol. I am like you MeMom and pulled my DD in front of me to hide. I forgot she was wearing her pirate gloves. Since we ran the princess 5 k that morning she decided to be a pirate princess in the park. Your two little ones are just the sweetest. It was so good to finally meet you guys!

And a cute one, she was!

Poor Brooklynn! Those toilets even scare me sometimes, so I can completely understand why she'd be freaked out. That was so nice of the CM!

I was a little :scared1: at the crowd picture even though that's kind of what it looks like when we go down during President's week. We usually leave a few days before and then come home right in the middle of it. It's what I'm used to seeing so it was easy to imagine myself right there

Those plates are really cute. I'm like my mom, and prefer to have my food as separate as possible. I've gotten better, but I still prefer not to have anything touching if I can help it. I can remember being pretty young, like four or five, and requesting at every birthday party that my ice cream not be on top my slice of cake. I am still that way when it comes to cake and ice cream!

An update on Charles's dog, she has started eating baby food, along with some treats and water, and has kept it all down. So it looks like they are canceling the appointment to put her down and just keeping a close watch on her. I'm so glad that they are going to have some more time with her b/c she is such an amazing dog.

I am glad to hear the dog is better. I know how it feels to think this is it. I thought we were going to have to put my little spoiled one to sleep, too, and it was awful. I hope your dog gets all the way better.

I don't think you could have a meal with me. I am a mixer. :upsidedow

Only at Disney World. Seriously. 9 times out of 10 they go above and beyond to make any situation right.

Poor Brooklynn with her wet clothes! Glad she got over it quickly.

Me, too! How about putting Captain Jack up there??? I've never eaten there. It's always closed when we go b/c I think it's only open during busy(er) times.

Holy crowds, Batman!!!

Brooklynn is outgrowing some of her drama. She was really, really good on this trip.

This was Sunday, right? We were over at AK.

This was Saturday, our arrival day. We went to MK on Saturday and to Hollywood on Sunday.

Brooklynn loves her plush animals, too. We usually end up bringing anywhere from one to three strays home with us. ;)

That would be fun for you to do with him. It would make it more special.

I remember the whole potty situation. Poor Brookie. I was nervous about the automatic flushers with Little Guy, but they never seemed to bother him.

How fun you got to meet up with some friends!

We ended up not even seeing the new castle display. We went over to Wilderness Lodge and hung out over there for a good long while. We'll see it in July, I guess.

Philharmagic has a very good gift shop. You should check it out next time. They always have a good variety of unique shirts.

Poor Brooklyn!!!!! I wouldn't have gone for the rest of the trip!! The CM was great at least! I'm glad the carnations made her happy at least! And you still did get to MK and do some shopping! I need to get one of those Small World snowglobes for my collection! And I love those candy boxes!!

I didn't really want to take the snowglobe picture, but I did it for people like you who like to see poor helpless little figures being drowned under that water. :scared1:

Poor Brooklyn with the potty break. but you all handled it great. I don't know if I would have been able to stop with just a change of clothes. i probably would have had to hose my kid down. lol I'm a bit of a germ a phobe.

Love the tshirts in the gift shop. I have never really spent time in that shop either. I always try to blind fold my son and run out of them. I guess I should stop and look around more.

And the candy boxes...yup, I would buy the candy just for the boxes too cute!

We didn't hose her down, but Jill did clean her up very nicely.

That's a good gift shop for those who like Donald, too. It has several Donald items.

Oh dear, poor Brooklyn in the restroom. Those toliets use to scare Danielle too. And having water come back at you is the worst. But the CM did great at helping to fix the problem.

The flowers really are beautiful! I love your little treat you bought the girls. I know my kids always loved eating on special plates. I still have some in the cabinet for when little ones come over.

I have fun plates, bowls, and cups. I remember my own kids eating on some of them. Some of the ones they had were lost or broken through the years, but some are still used often.

Poor Brooklynn!! Hollie always hated those flushers too! The first time we took her to Disney, she flipped out! She had just sat down and it started flushing! She thought it was gonna flush her down the toilet!! lol

I just smile when Brooklynn starts telling me to hold my hand over the light, as if she hasn't already told me a thousand times. She wants to be very sure she is safe!

Yea for the new trip report!! I thougt I signed on earlier, but better late than never!!
Hope and good thoughts on Aunt Joan's speedy recovery!

Your reports always leave me with a smile... thanks for sharing your life with us

I'm glad you enjoy the reports. We enjoy sharing the Disney fun.

Glad i found your trip report. Can't wait to hear more about it.

We are glad to have you with us! :)

Poor Brooklynn! She's such a good girl for handling it so well. So nice of the CM for helping you out. I agree with Dawn- seriously only in Disney!

Yikes Frontierland looked like a zoo Hope the crowds got better during the rest of your trip.

That was the only day we could hardly move. The rest of the trip was fine.

I am subbing late...just got back from a trip to the World. I have read your other reports but usually as a lurker or after you have completed them. I am coming out of lurkdom to send my appreciation for such great reports!

Come on out and play any time. It's more fun when everyone speaks up. :cool1:

We seemed to pick the right park every day. We didn't have any trouble with crowds. AK wasn't bad at all that day, but when we got to MK I couldn't believe it. Yep, I liked where we met. If we hadn't come over there, Bella might never have gotten to play Geen Yight. :thumbsup2

It will be nice for you to celebrate someone you love at one of her favorite places.

Glad to be back. Thank you. I also hope I make it back to the mouse one day.

Poor Brooklyn! But wow, that cast member was awesome! He really went above and beyond to make your day magical! I wonder if it is someone who I knew.

It was a middle-aged man, but I don't remember his name.

The flowers at the entrance are so pretty. They just make want to go back as soon as possible. The bad things is there is not another trip in the works at this time. I promised my dh husband our next trip would be to the beach. Staying at the CBR do not fulfill that request.

It will be fun to buy for your nephew as the years go by, too. :goodvibes

I saw some spoon rests, and I almost got one, because that is a practical gift.

***************************************

Joan was supposed to have her plastic surgery at 3, but Michelle just texted that she had been bumped, and it might be tomorrow before they can get to her. She said she is semi-alert, but on a lot of pain medication, so she is in and out of sleep.

My house looks like a mean game of fruitbasket turnover, so I am headed back to work on that now.

I've learned my lesson in Disney World. Whatever it is, just buy it now, or you may never see it again!

That is the truth. I knew it and yet I waited. :sad2: Never again. Still hoping that wallet pops up this spring.

the flowers are really pretty! I bought my mickey mouse camera neck strap at the exposition hall. I used it all trip and still have not taken it off my camera. Its really nice when you are out and about and what to take a quick picture.

I got my nephew the fireman badge as my dad is a retired volunteer fireman so my nephew thinks anything fireman is cool! Caleb has no clue about it and loves choo choos like my FIL!

Speaking of Caleb...he is really starting to have more words and is learning his colors and shapes...and I think we have Mickey Mouse Clubhouse to thank for part of his learning. People do not want their kids watching a lot of TV but I think he has learned much of that because of that show...and my nephew learned spanish because of Handy Manny. If Caleb would watch Handy Manny more often he will probably pick that up! I think that is pretty good for not quite 2.5yrs. Now if they would only teach how to go to the potty we will be in business! LOL!

So apparently there is talk of a tsunami coming towards the north side of Puerto Rico. I don't know whether to believe it or not but please say a prayer for us.

Someone wanted details on this girl.

IMG_0583.jpg

That was me! Thank you so much! You are the best DIS friend ever!
I really apreciate you thinking of me and getting the info.

I am so happy she is still available.
I have been kicking myself since last year for not buying her.
I think she is a MUST HAVE for my collection! ;)

I got the girls two of these. They were cheap enough, didn't take up much space, and practical. That's my kind of gift. :goodvibes

IMG_0594.jpg

Love this too! You always find the cutest stuff!
I guess I'm "too old" for one of these plates....right? :rotfl:

Poor little Brooklynn and the potty eppisode.
What a nice CM to try to make things right and give you the free stuff. :thumbsup2

A bright new kitchen will be a wonderful gift to yourself!
Everyday it will make you smile! :goodvibes

Whoa, things move fast around here! Just joining in, and I'm all caught up:thumbsup2.

My daughters are both scared of those potties, and I can't imagine they'd handle it nearly as well as Brooklyn. So glad things got better for her.

I love those plates and those shirts! I haven't looked in that gift shop much, but I'll have to this year!

Subbing now.
