Geen Yight - She's Out of Sight: A Trip of Leaps and Bounds

Prayers for Aunt Joan and the whole MeMom family!

All of the thoughts and prayers are appreciated. The morning surgery went as planned, except for being longer than expected. They decided to do the plastic surgery tomorrow instead of tonight.

Dawn, switching out babies for a ride on Soarin' sounds like a possibility. Whoever has Bella and Seth can maybe go on Living with the Land while waiting instead of just sitting there.

HGTV would have a field day with my house right now. It's a mess. I know people have things in upheaval for months when they are renovating, but after just a couple of days of this, I know I will be very ready to have things back in order. It did give me a chance to throw away a lot of things, though, so there are drawers and cabinets that look much better now. :thumbsup2

You 'little closet' people know what it is like to lack storage. I see houses on HGTV who have closets bigger than some of my bedrooms! Even when they are a fairly good size, some people say, 'Oh, this is so small!' They don't know small!

Megablocks, I saw that the white sample was called Mickey's Gloves.

We'll try to get back to normal around here tomorrow with another trip update.

I actually know the owner of one of those houses!

Wow! I am jealous! They were sooooo nice! I sat in my chair with my mouth open the whole time!:rotfl: And I couldn't get over the prices! The amount they paid would barely get you a bungalow around here!

If I ever build another house I will have LOTS of storage!! I thought my closet in my bedroom was huge - now I could use double the space! Actually, maybe I just need to get rid of stuff like you've been doing! Speaking of that, I have some doggies for Bella's party, I just need to make it to the post office! When is the party? I'll make sure I get them there in time. It's just some of the little ones that were in happy meals a few years ago. Would it be better to mail them to you or Jill? If Jill, pm me her address. I think I still have yours somewhere :goodvibes

Glad to hear your Aunt's surgery went well. I hope the second one goes well also.

Ahh Just made it over here. Lets see if I can catch up. Hope all went well for Jarvis and Trents visit!
Edited to say
I hope Aunt Joan did well. She sounds like a terrific lady.
The pics of the girls are already so sweet. Love Bella's wild child ears!
Dawn - I did the 1st princess 5 k with a stroller when my son was a week away from 1 yr old. He did really well because e was used to me taking him out walking/running. It was cold so he was bundled but he did not sleep. He just looked around and went along for the ride. That being said I do not think I would try it with him now at 3 yrs old. :0) Good luck.

I love watch house hunters but the people they get on for that show BUG me!! They complain about the stupidest things about the house...like the paint color or the light fixture or the appliances as a reason why they would not buy the house. That is a simple fix that does not need to be done right away! The last one I watched the woman wanted a new and shiny house and did not want to look at much else other than that! Spoiled people!!

Glad that Aunt Joan's surgery went well.

It was kind of sad to see the Hippy Dippy pool closed!

I was really happy to see the pictures of the new mugs! Makes me really excited to go in July and get new ones! Because I don't have enough Disney mugs.....:rolleyes1

So glad that Aunt Joan's surgery went well!

Hurray for your kitchen being redone! I can't wait to see it all finished! I bet it will be gorgeous!

Back to normal this morning. Individual responses, then some Disney trip fun!

I am always amazed at the prices up north. A little bitty patch of house in NY is 3-4 times what a decent-sized spread is down here. People have different wants and needs, though, and that's a good thing. Some people want or need to be right downtown and amongst all the comings and goings of the city. That would be so not what I would want. I like the suburbs. Luckily, there are houses and places for every taste.

Well, if you are decluttering again and just wanting to get rid of some puppies, feel free to send them to my address. We're partying on April 2nd.

I know why people love those big closets. I use the back room as a big closet much of the time, and it's nice. I have so much Disney party stuff back there now, and Christmas and Halloween decorations. I used to keep them in the attic, but it's much simpler to have them back there.

I think it would be fun for Dawn to have Seth along with her, if she thinks she is up to it.

I often talk to them out loud, telling them that when they rip those perfectly good cabinets or countertop out, they can send it to me. I can imagine what people would say about my 40 year old yellowish formica countertops.

The Hippy Dippy Pool being closed definitely had an effect on the atmosphere. As you walk out of Classic Hall, you should see the bright colors and hear the sounds of splashing, and all there was was construction walls. People who were having their first visit there didn't get to have the complete experience, but repairs and updates have to be done. of course.

So glad that Aunt Joan's surgery went well!

Hurray for your kitchen being redone! I can't wait to see it all finished! I bet it will be gorgeous!

I don't know that anything in my plain little house is ever going to be gorgeous, but I am excited about the new things. It will be fresh and clean and new, but still plain. All the same stuff is going back on the walls after the painting. The floor will not have scratches in it, and when I clean it, it will really be clean. This one now is so old and messed up, I can scrub and scrub, but it still looks old. :upsidedow

I should take before and after pictures, though, so you can really see the difference. Trouble is, I'm too ashamed to take the before close-ups. You'd be appalled. I'll paint a mental image for you, though: picture an avocado green stove with only two burners. The clock space is covered in aluminum foil, because it cracked a long time ago. Even though I clean it, it never looks clean. I cover it up when we have get-togethers. :thumbsup2 I will proudly show you my new stove next week, and I look forward to having my first party without the stove being covered very soon. Well, I might cover it, but if I do, it will be because I want to have some Dalmatian themed something there, and not because I have to. The linoleum that is coming up along the edges will be replaced by a nice wood laminate, and that will make a HUGE difference in how things look.

I get excited about buying 3-4 new gray tubs to put things in, or a new sink strainer, or a new display towel for the bathroom when the last one gets covered in grease by my mechanic-type son, so imagine what I am going to be like when I get big new things in the next few weeks. I hope I don't become a snob! :snooty: ;)

****************************************

When we last left you, we were headed to the restroom. We do that before we get on the bus, because Brooklynn has a history of saying, as soon as we are in the bus line or have just boarded the bus, "I have to go potty."

So, a potty stop it was, and then we were on our way to Magic Kingdom.

Or so it should have gone.

Poor Brooklynn, however, picked the wrong stall. She is deathly afraid of the turbo toilets flushing while she is on them or before she is completely off and far away from them. We're used to that, so when we are inside the stall with her, we hold our hand over the button so that it does not flush until she is safe. :)

We were not in the stall with her this time, though. When she started slightly freaking out, we didn't think anything of it. When she went in to help her, though, Jill discovered the reason for her freakout. The toilet was splashing water upward and all over Brooklynn. Of all four of us who chose a stall, it had to be Brooklynn who got that one!

So, her clothes were wet, and she was traumatized, but she held herself together very well. We didn't have clothes for her, since we had just arrived. I went to the front desk to see if they could locate our luggage or maybe just get her an outfit from the gift shop, so we could go on to Magic Kingdom. The CM was very nice. He called and found that the luggage had just arrived. He had it delivered immediately.

He also gave me two buttons, three carnations, and four free meals on our Dining Plan. :cool1:

None of those things had anything to do with wet clothes, but it was still nice.
I handed over the buttons to Jill, so I don't even know what they said.
Brooklynn carried the three carnations around all day, totally in love with them.
The four meals were awesome, because we were able to feed Trent and Tanya when they came over to visit with us. :thumbsup2

A short potty stop became a long, but lucrative potty stop, and soon we were off to Magic Kingdom.

Here it is! We really made it!

The flowers were beautiful.

Kay had forgotten her camera, so she stopped in here to get a disposable one so that she would at least have some pictures.

IMG_0557.jpg

She said she would rely on us for some, too. We knew that wouldn't be a problem. :)

Things are changing around that area. That wide open store is now much smaller and has very few items for sale. It was pretty much just cameras, picture frames, and a few pins, postcards, and autograph books.

Some pin pictures, while we waited for her to check out.

Lots of work was being done on Main Street.

IMG_0563.jpg

More pretty flowers.

IMG_0564.jpg

In the fire station, there was a pin for Mr. Marc, in case he ever wants to stop teaching and become a fireman.

IMG_0565.jpg

More construction going to Adventureland.

IMG_0566.jpg

A new sign for an old place.

IMG_0567.jpg

I think I'd rather see a pirate and a parrot on that sign than those freaky looking women.

We spotted Wuudy and Zhessie.

IMG_0570.jpg

Yeah, a tiny bit crowded.

We started to go on Pirates, but the line was long, so we went over to Philharmagic instead.

daisylove had texted us that she was also in that line, but she got in the next show behind us. We waited for her in the gift shop.

Pictures while waiting.

The new candy boxes are an excellent marketing tool.
I bet they sell tons of these.

IMG_0590.jpg

Finally our friends joined us in the gift shop. They were so very kind and had some goody bags for the girls. They were headed out of Magic Kingdom and back home. It was so nice to meet them!

IMG_0591.jpg

A few more pictures.

IMG_0593.jpg

I got the girls two of these. They were cheap enough, didn't take up much space, and practical. That's my kind of gift. :goodvibes

IMG_0594.jpg

Enjoy your new kitchen! I can't wait to see pictures!

What a nice CM to do all those things following the potty incident. I don't blame Brooklyn on those turbo flushers... they are a bit scary!

Looks like a beautiful morning in the MK. I am in love with the purple & yellow Mickey in flowers at the entrance. That color combo is so vibrant!

Seems like a lot of construction throughout the whole park! I guess maybe they're just trying to get it all done at once and have everything be brand spanking new for the Fantasyland re-introduction?

I agree about the "ladies" on the Tortuga Tavern sign. :lmao:

Those MK plates are cute. I might have to get one... it could help me with portion control and be a touch of Disney in my day. :upsidedow

Hope you're enjoying your spring break!

IMG_0570.jpg

:scared1::scared1::scared1: What in the world!?!?! I thought Feb. was the off season!!!

IMG_0583.jpg

This is so cute! :cutie:

IMG_0594.jpg

I really like these plates. And I absolutely LOVE Philharmagic! I think it is my favorite attraction! I am just like you in buying gifts. Nothing beats cheap and practical! :thumbsup2

Also, you had me totally cracking up over the toilet episode. :rotfl: Oh my, I have been there! My DD was also terrified of those things and still is. I too have to go in the stall and cover the sensor! I could just picture it all in my mind as I was reading the story. Too bad for the delay and the drama, but  for the freebies! There is no telling how much money you got in the form those meals in exchange for a little toilet water!

Praying for your aunt to recover quickly also!

HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY!!!! :)

Poor Brooklyn, I am sure that was not a fun experience. So glad that the CM made the day brighter.

I love the new look as you walk in main street with the memories celebration. Boy, those flowers were very pretty as well.

Can't wait to read more!

The toilet craziness just has to happen to the one that is fearful, doesn't it? Erin and Ava are not fans of that type of toilet either. Yay for Brooklyn handling it so well and for Disney making it better for her. I can just picture her proudly carrying her flowers around. :lovestruck

I love your picture of the flowers as you were going into MK. So pretty!

Not a good way to start the morning for Brooklynn.

Love the flowers at MK!! So pretty.:goodvibes

Those Small World shirts are so cute & the boxes for the candy-good idea.

Those plates you bought are very cute.

I also agree about those "ladies" on the sign. I did not even notice-I had to go back & look at the pic again.

Love this picture. I can just imagine being right there in the middle of the crowd. Of course I think it also helps that I'm listening to the DIS radio! ;)

The potty story is too funny, and I'm glad Brooklynn got the flowers to make her feel better. So sweet.

Love Philharmagic and the T-shirts in the shop.

Well, it's been fun shopping with you this morning, but I guess I better get to work. :rolleyes1 I guess the boss would probably appreciate it.

Have a great day.

Ok not too bad a picture. lol. I am like you MeMom and pulled my DD in front of me to hide. I forgot she was wearing her pirate gloves. Since we ran the princess 5 k that morning she decided to be a pirate princess in the park. Your two little ones are just the sweetest. It was so good to finally meet you guys!

Poor Brooklynn! Those toilets even scare me sometimes, so I can completely understand why she'd be freaked out. That was so nice of the CM!

I was a little :scared1: at the crowd picture even though that's kind of what it looks like when we go down during President's week. We usually leave a few days before and then come home right in the middle of it. It's what I'm used to seeing so it was easy to imagine myself right there :goodvibes

Those plates are really cute. I'm like my mom, and prefer to have my food as separate as possible. I've gotten better, but I still prefer not to have anything touching if I can help it. I can remember being pretty young, like four or five, and requesting at every birthday party that my ice cream not be on top my slice of cake. I am still that way when it comes to cake and ice cream!

An update on Charles's dog, she has started eating baby food, along with some treats and water, and has kept it all down. So it looks like they are canceling the appointment to put her down and just keeping a close watch on her. I'm so glad that they are going to have some more time with her b/c she is such an amazing dog.

He also gave me two buttons, three carnations, and four free meals on our Dining Plan. :cool1:

Only at Disney World. Seriously. 9 times out of 10 they go above and beyond to make any situation right.

Poor Brooklynn with her wet clothes! Glad she got over it quickly.

Brooklynn carried the three carnations around all day, totally in love with them.

:goodvibes

I think I'd rather see a pirate and a parrot on that sign than those freaky looking women.

:rotfl: Me, too! How about putting Captain Jack up there??? I've never eaten there. It's always closed when we go b/c I think it's only open during busy(er) times.

The view from where I stood.

Holy crowds, Batman!!! :scared1:
