Back to normal this morning. Individual responses, then some Disney trip fun!
Wow! I am jealous! They were sooooo nice! I sat in my chair with my mouth open the whole time! And I couldn't get over the prices! The amount they paid would barely get you a bungalow around here!
I am always amazed at the prices up north. A little bitty patch of house in NY is 3-4 times what a decent-sized spread is down here. People have different wants and needs, though, and that's a good thing. Some people want or need to be right downtown and amongst all the comings and goings of the city. That would be so
not what I would want. I like the suburbs. Luckily, there are houses and places for every taste.
If I ever build another house I will have LOTS of storage!! I thought my closet in my bedroom was huge - now I could use double the space! Actually, maybe I just need to get rid of stuff like you've been doing! Speaking of that, I have some doggies for Bella's party, I just need to make it to the post office! When is the party? I'll make sure I get them there in time. It's just some of the little ones that were in happy meals a few years ago. Would it be better to mail them to you or Jill? If Jill, pm me her address. I think I still have yours somewhere
Glad to hear your Aunt's surgery went well. I hope the second one goes well also.
Well, if you are decluttering again and just wanting to get rid of some puppies, feel free to send them to my address. We're partying on April 2nd.
I know why people love those big closets. I use the back room as a big closet much of the time, and it's nice. I have so much Disney party stuff back there now, and Christmas and Halloween decorations. I used to keep them in the attic, but it's much simpler to have them back there.
Ahh Just made it over here. Lets see if I can catch up. Hope all went well for Jarvis and Trents visit!
Edited to say
I hope Aunt Joan did well. She sounds like a terrific lady.
The pics of the girls are already so sweet. Love Bella's wild child ears!
Dawn - I did the 1st princess 5 k with a stroller when my son was a week away from 1 yr old. He did really well because e was used to me taking him out walking/running. It was cold so he was bundled but he did not sleep. He just looked around and went along for the ride. That being said I do not think I would try it with him now at 3 yrs old. :0) Good luck.
I think it would be fun for Dawn to have Seth along with her, if she thinks she is up to it.
I love watch house hunters but the people they get on for that show BUG me!! They complain about the stupidest things about the house...like the paint color or the light fixture or the appliances as a reason why they would not buy the house. That is a simple fix that does not need to be done right away! The last one I watched the woman wanted a new and shiny house and did not want to look at much else other than that! Spoiled people!!
I often talk to them out loud, telling them that when they rip those perfectly good cabinets or countertop out, they can send it to me. I can imagine what people would say about my 40 year old yellowish formica countertops.
Glad that Aunt Joan's surgery went well.
It was kind of sad to see the Hippy Dippy pool closed!
I was really happy to see the pictures of the new mugs! Makes me really excited to go in July and get new ones! Because I don't have enough Disney mugs.....
The Hippy Dippy Pool being closed definitely had an effect on the atmosphere. As you walk out of Classic Hall, you should see the bright colors and hear the sounds of splashing, and all there was was construction walls. People who were having their first visit there didn't get to have the complete experience, but repairs and updates have to be done. of course.
So glad that Aunt Joan's surgery went well!
Hurray for your kitchen being redone! I can't wait to see it all finished! I bet it will be gorgeous!
I don't know that anything in my plain little house is ever going to be gorgeous, but I am excited about the new things. It will be fresh and clean and new, but still plain. All the same stuff is going back on the walls after the painting. The floor will not have scratches in it, and when I clean it, it will really be clean. This one now is so old and messed up, I can scrub and scrub, but it still looks old.
I should take before and after pictures, though, so you can really see the difference. Trouble is, I'm too ashamed to take the before close-ups. You'd be appalled.

I'll paint a mental image for you, though: picture an avocado green stove with only two burners. The clock space is covered in aluminum foil, because it cracked a long time ago. Even though I clean it, it never looks clean. I cover it up when we have get-togethers.

I will proudly show you my new stove next week, and I look forward to having my first party without the stove being covered very soon.

Well, I might cover it, but if I do, it will be because I
want to have some Dalmatian themed something there, and not because I
have to. The linoleum that is coming up along the edges will be replaced by a nice wood laminate, and that will make a HUGE difference in how things look.
I get excited about buying 3-4 new gray tubs to put things in, or a new sink strainer, or a new display towel for the bathroom when the last one gets covered in grease by my mechanic-type son, so imagine what I am going to be like when I get big new things in the next few weeks. I hope I don't become a snob!

When we last left you, we were headed to the restroom. We do that before we get on the bus, because Brooklynn has a history of saying, as soon as we are in the bus line or have just boarded the bus,
"I have to go potty."
So, a potty stop it was, and then we were on our way to Magic Kingdom.
Or so it should have gone.
Poor Brooklynn, however, picked the wrong stall. She is deathly afraid of the turbo toilets flushing while she is on them or before she is completely off and far away from them. We're used to that, so when we are inside the stall with her, we hold our hand over the button so that it does not flush until she is safe.
We were not in the stall with her this time, though. When she started slightly freaking out, we didn't think anything of it. When she went in to help her, though, Jill discovered the reason for her freakout. The toilet was splashing water upward and all over Brooklynn. Of all four of us who chose a stall, it had to be Brooklynn who got that one!
So, her clothes were wet, and she was traumatized, but she held herself together very well. We didn't have clothes for her, since we had just arrived. I went to the front desk to see if they could locate our luggage or maybe just get her an outfit from the gift shop, so we could go on to Magic Kingdom. The CM was very nice. He called and found that the luggage had just arrived. He had it delivered immediately.
He also gave me two buttons, three carnations, and four free meals on our Dining Plan.
None of those things had anything to do with wet clothes, but it was still nice.
I handed over the buttons to Jill, so I don't even know what they said.
Brooklynn carried the three carnations around all day, totally in love with them.
The four meals were awesome, because we were able to feed Trent and Tanya when they came over to visit with us.
A short potty stop became a long, but lucrative potty stop, and soon we were off to Magic Kingdom.
Here it is! We really made it!
The flowers were beautiful.
Kay had forgotten her camera, so she stopped in here to get a disposable one so that she would at least have some pictures.
She said she would rely on us for some, too. We knew that wouldn't be a problem.
Things are changing around that area. That wide open store is now much smaller and has very few items for sale. It was pretty much just cameras, picture frames, and a few pins, postcards, and autograph books.
Some pin pictures, while we waited for her to check out.
Lots of work was being done on Main Street.
More pretty flowers.
In the fire station, there was a pin for Mr. Marc, in case he ever wants to stop teaching and become a fireman.
More construction going to Adventureland.
A new sign for an old place.
I think I'd rather see a pirate and a parrot on that sign than those freaky looking women.
We spotted Wuudy and Zhessie.
