Gear for Vacation

I'm headed to Disney World next week with my girlfriend, mom, brother, and sister in law. It's our first family vacation down there and I want to make sure I'm prepared to get plenty of shots so I'm taking my D5000 along with a 35mm 1.8 and a rented 17-55 2.8. I also rented the SB-700, in hopes to tech myself how to use it in the few days before I head down, but I'm not sure if I'll bring it out with me. I'm also going to bring my kit zoom, the 50-200 I believe it is, but it will probably sit in my room. That is unless I decide to carry it all in my lowepro sling bag. I'm kinda toying with the idea of buying the BlackRapid RS-7 and throwing the 35mm in my girlfriend's bag. Any suggestions? Or am I pretty much covered???

You sound covered. The 35/1.8 would be what you want for dark rides. Other than dark rides (which you may not even want to photograph), the 17-55/2.8 will serve you well for walk-around.
The telephoto zoom is good for Animal Kingdom but not really necessary otherwise. (Also helpful for photographing stage shows and day time parades if that interests you).

In terms of straps and bags -- whatever you are most comfortable with.

If you want night shots don't forget a tripod and trigger. I think your covered on glass. I don't know how much you will use the flash. My last few trip my flash never left the safe but I will bring it again on my next trip.

The camera is on the BR strap and the rest of the equipment is in the bag on your back. I can almost guarantee that the piece of equipment that you leave back in the room, will be the one you will need to get "the" shot!
