My wife, son, MIL, and wifes Aunt going to Disney for 8 days 7 nights. We were on the DDP. So here is the recap:
Day 1: We left our house 6:30 AM went to the airport flew to Detroit grabbed a bite to eat and caught our connector to MCO. We arrived at 11:30 AM. We then caught our DME bus to POR. There were no issues with our transport from the airport to POR. When we arrived our room was ready so we checked in and went to the room for a few minutes. We were in Alligator Bayou building 24. Which was good close to the pool and the bus stop. We left the room and went to Magic Kingdom. I was in awe (my son and my first trip). The first place we went was adventure land and rode the magic carpets for him. We then headed over to Big Thunder, he didnt like that a lot. We were there for his 4th birthday. We then headed toward the front of the park to head over to 1900 Park Fare for dinner, and here were all the characters so we got pics with Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Pluto & Max. We then went to dinner. Food was great as was the character interaction. We saw all the characters one time during our meal
Day 2: Animal Kingdom. Had breakfast at the food court at POR pretty good stuff. Got the bus to AK. First to bugs life. My son didnt like that at all so my wife took him out. I thought it was cool. For those that have seen this show, the bumble bee part startled the heck out of me. Off too Kali. Awesome ride all 3 of us liked this one, and the CM said if we wanted to stay on we could! So we did. Then off to the Safari. Very cool! It was incredibly hot. So we headed over to Camp Minnie Mickey to watch Lion King. Great show! When we were finished the characters were out and my son wanted to go visit so we did. By this time it is about 3 so we decided to head back for some swimming. Had dinner at the food court.
Day 3: MGM. First we had breakfast at Chef Mickeys. My son got his co-pilots license on the monorail. He was on cloud nine (he is a Thomas fan). Breakfast was great. Characters were awesome as usual. We saw the characters twice during our meal. There was a big fiasco with my camera which means I left the battery in our room and didnt realize it until I went to take a picture. So after we ate I headed back to POR to get it while the others went on to MGM. Finally got into the park around 10:30. Saw JOJO, then went to playhouse Disney the little one loved that. We then went to Millionaire. Entertaining. Then off to see Ariel. We liked that show. The wife and I then went to RNR. Awesome ride. We loved it plus no wait! Our son was tired so he went to sleep in the stroller, and we went and saw Lights, motors, action. Very awesome show. Finished there he got to see some Buzz Lightyear characters. We then had dinned at Mama Melrose. Food not very good, server was horrible. We then went to ToT no wait again, great ride. Our pics didnt come out though so we were a bit disappointed with that. We then went and got our seats for fantasmic. Amazing show.
To be continued .
Day 4: Started off with Breakfast at the food court. Then it was off to Epcot. First place was Test Track. My son wife and I rode this and all liked it. Again the wait was about 10 minutes so no need for a FP. We then headed for the land. Rode the living with the land. We all really like this. My wife and I then rode Soarin, this is the best ride ever, and the wait was only 15 minutes. Neither of us had a desire to ride Mission: Space so we didnt. Headed over to Imagination. It was pretty cool and everyone liked it. Got a picture with our son done at the Kodak thing. We then headed off to Le Cellier for our late lunch/ early dinner. This was our best meal the entire trip. The cheeses of Canada appetizer was awesome, as was the shrimp cocktail. I had the strip steak, and whiskey cake. All around an awesome meal. We then started through the world showcase. Very cool. Morocco and Norway were my favorites. By the time we finished the showcase it was time for illuminations. This was a cool show. We then headed back to the hotel. Ordered a pizza, and it was horrible.
Day 5: Kid of a wasted day if you ask me. Got up late and had breakfast at the food court. Took the boat to Downtown Disney. I am not much of a shopper so I enjoyed feeding the birds and fish at the dock. Everyone except my wife and I ate at Mcdonalds. With all the great food at Disney I refused to eat there. Headed back to the hotel at about 3. Everyone except me took a nap. They got up, and had dinner at the food court. My wife and I had dinner at Bomas. I really liked this. There wasnt anything that stuck out, but it was all really good.
Day 6: Breakfast at Crystal Palace. Food was really good and character interaction was OK. The reason for OK was Tigger was in a big rush to leave our table. We couldnt get the autograph and hardly had time for a pic. When we finished eating it was raining. So we decided to go to splash. It was closed for the day! We were disappointed. We then rode the train around the park to wait for the rain to stop. It did and we rode the carpets again, Pirates, Jungle Cruise. All were good rides with no wait. We then headed over to toontown. Met Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Pluto, Tweedle Dee and Dum, The Queen, Rabbitt. Rode Goofys ride. That was good for the little guy. Off to future land. My son loved the Indy cars. We rode that twice and then to the tea cups he loved that too. Wife and I rode space mountain. It was cool. Lunch at Cosmic Rays not too bad. We then rode Pooh, Peter Pan, Small world. Did some other little stuff and had dinner at the Castle. Everyone loved the meal. We then hung out for Wishes and didnt have a very good spot. But we enjoyed it none the less. We then headed back to the hotel after a very long day.
Day 7: We went to Epcot after breakfast at the food court. Had to ride Soarin again as this was the best ride of the trip. We then went to countries we missed getting the kids passport done. Did that and went to Innoventions and got the character time for Disney visa card holders. It was cool, and the picture we got free was good too. Had lunch at the UK for some fish and chips. Headed back to MK. Rode the Indy cars again, Stitch, and headed to see if splash was open. We rode that with no wait because once again it was raining. Not your typical Florida shower either. It rained for a couple of hours. Had dinner at Liberty Tree. Food was OK. Characters were awesome. We saw the characters more than we saw our server. We then had a great spot for Spectromagic. Awesome parade. After that we went back to the hotel. The women went to DD to get some last minute stuff, while my sone and I sat at the bar and watched Bob. This guy is a great entertainer. Even if you are not staying at Port Orleans I encourage you to go see him. It will be worth it. Wed. Sat 8:30-midnight. They got back we packed up.
Day 8: Our flight was not until 5:20 pm so our DME was not until 2:30. We had breakfast at boatwrights. Loved the Sweet potato pancakes. Went to MK to ride you guessed it the Indy cars. We also rode Buzz. Had fun. Went back to the hotel had lunch at the food court. Used up all of our snacks. I still have cookies and rice krispie treats. Trip back was uneventful.
We took over 800 pictures. I will try to post some later.
It was my first trip. I know we missed a lot, and we are considering on going back at the beginning of December.
