GCH to USC ?

I need to get from GCH to University of Southern California and back for a one-day conference. We don't want to rent a car (unless that's the only way), and I'd rather not try to navigate the morning and evening rush hour traffic myself so I don't really want to drive anyway. Can anyone recommend anything? Would a taxi go that far? Would it cost an arm and a leg? Is public transportation a reliable option? Does GCH have any kind of shuttle?

In other words: please save me from having to drive myself in crazy traffic on huge freeways where I've never driven before.

I haven't done this myself but it looks like USC runs a shuttle service that you can catch from LA Union Station to their University Park Campus (I assume that's where you are going). To get to Union Station you can catch a Metrolink/Amtrak train from the Anaheim Station, which is right by Anaheim Stadium.

We have done Anaheim to Union Station and it was fine. We did it on the Amtrak Pacific Surfliner.
