I am wondering what the GCH policy is for these areas. If we are staying at the GCH and my sister's family came to DLR for a day trip to meet us, would it be possible for them to go swimming with us at the GCH pools as our guests? What about using the special entrance to DCA from the hotel?

I don't know about the pool.

Regarding the special entrance to DCA, I know that they check for hotel keys. I showed my key (we stayed at PP) and that was enough to get my husband, children, and myself in. In other words, my husband didn't have to show his own key.

So, if you and your wife (and/or kids) all have keys, maybe you can spread then around to your guests.

Wow, I'm honored to even try and give the great HydroGuy some help! :thumbsup2

LOL, I will have to tell my DW how "great" I am. She might disagree though. In fact, I know what her response would be ---> :rotfl2:

Seriously though, my "greatness", such as it is, is spotty. I really do not know very much about the DLR hotels. Or the DLR restaurants, for that matter. If all goes well, I will be a GCH vet after this trip, and also get into a couple new restaurants we have never been to.

Thanks.

Anyone else know about the pools?

Considering your helpfulness in the past, I am more than happy to provide you with information. As far as the exclusive entrance to DCA goes, security rarely asks for a key a during off-seasons and often asks for one during peak seasons. It is helpful, therefore, to have a key with you, just in case. As for use of the pool, there are two entrances. The one across from Storyteller's requires the use of a key, the one across from Whitewater's does not. Let me know if you need more information.

We will be going during high season, but should have multiple room keys. So it sounds like I can just give one of our room keys to my sister and they can use it to enter DCA with us.

How do they check that pool users are GCH guests? Or do they?

They don't check. As long as you have a key to get in. I believe the lifeguards see you come in with a key and that is proof enough you are a guest. I am sure you will all be fine. It is also nice to grab cold beverages and lunch from WWS while enjoying the pool. I know the beer is like $5 but sure hits the spot on a hot day! Have a great trip:)
