GCH --can you see fireworks in all rooms with DTD view?

I am just wondering if I selected DTD view at the GCH would we DEFINITELY be able to see the fireworks?

The DTD rooms only go to the 4th floor, so some rooms are slightly obstructed with trees and such. So - maybe not.

Also, there are only about 120 DTD view rooms, so there is a chance that if they overbook them, you could be upgraded to a DCA theme park view - removing all chance of having a fireworks view.

Okay, thanks. I currently have the standard room but I really wanted a fireworks view. But since there is no guarantee I am not paying for a DTD view. It is the cheapest of the upgrades so I thought maybe if they all the DTD rooms had the fireworks view it might be worth it. They still have the rooms available for next week when we are going.

I will ask nicely for an upgrade. and if not oh well. Fingers crossed.

so i have stayed in DTD view and Park view and I personally Enjoy park view. looking at the park at night is awesome. Also I had my kids go to the end of the hall towards downtown Disney and there is a huge window and you can see the fireworks great. We also have stayed concierge and saw the fireworks in the lounge and they also have the full fireworks music and everything so you get the feeling your right there in the hub!

Okay, thanks. I called today to confirm my reservation for next week and asked about a free upgrade possibility and the CM told me to call the hotel directly the day before or to ask when we check in. He checked to see how full the hotel was and said it might be a likely possibility next week and to be sure to ask.

That's a good idea! I'd maybe also send a fax to the hotel a few days before your check in - that's what we did, and we received all the requests we'd asked for (we didn't ask for an upgrade though)

We ended up with a DTD view and were on the 4th floor and had a great view of the fireworks! It was super!

I'm sure no matter what room you end up though, you'll thoroughly enjoy your stay at the GCH!!
