Okay...this may be odd, but we are staying at GCH in a couple of weeks, and wondered about breakfast. I know there is a character breakfast at Storytellers, and we'll do that one morning, but what about other mornings? do they have another breakfast venue?

Normally we're up and at it too early to worry, but the park opens late the week we are there, so we may just be able to sit down for once!

Whitewater snacks has good breakfasts that's around the corner from Storytellers

They have Whitewater Snacks, which is a nice little cafeteria-style place. We ate there one of our late mornings, too. They have pastries and cinnamon rolls, lots of fresh fruit choices (both whole and cut up), yogurt, lots of juice, milk, coffee and tea choices, cereal, and some hot choices that you order from the cashier and they bring out to you, like I think they had a mickey waffle and some kind of breakfast sandwich, etc. Really just about anything you could want. They have good sandwiches and salads for later in the day, too. We ran down there a lot for snacks and water. You can eat inside or take your tray to the covered patio outside, which overlooks the pool at one end. Apparently there's a kitty that likes to hang out there (I saw pictures of her on the boards here) but we didn't see her while we were there.

The other thing we liked about it was that it was never really busy while we were there. Maybe we were just lucky.

Whitewater has some, but it's more like a snack stop. If you're looking for more sit for a breakfast you could try PCH at PP Hotel, or DLH has steakhouse 55 I believe they still do breakfast, also goofy's kitchen. Rainforrest cafe also has breakfast, and does a version of tonga toast. I would suggest checking allears.net. They have menus for DTD, Disney's 3 hotels, and the parks.

Yes, check the menus on allears.net. I know that Steakhouse 55 in the Disneyland Hotel used to have a nice, non character, sit down, non buffet breakfast. That was back when it was called Granville's but I am betting they still do that. Ralph Brennans and Rainforest Cafe both serve a sit down breakfast in DTD. The PCH Grille Breakfast at the PP Hotel is a Lilo and Stitch character meal and while I love it, it is characters.

Inside DL the Carnation Cafe serves breakfast and is no characters and full service. And over in Frontierland is the Riverbelle Terrace which has a wonderful breakfast, its cs but really a cut above your normal cs place. I love their Mickey pancakes!

I also recall the room service at the GCH not being too obnoxiously expensive for breakfast.

Thank you for the site on the menus. That was very helpfull. My daughter and I are picky eaters and I was able to look up the menus and find places that we will all enjoy.:cheer2:

You can also go to Storyteller's and order from the menu. You are still in the action of the character breakfast without the hefty buffet pricetag.

Oh that's good to know - I just assumed they would only have character dining at that time

Breakfast is a character meal, but they do serve from a menu OR the buffet. Well, until 11:30 when they still serve from the buffet but you can't get food from the menu anymore.

The prices aren't that great from the menu, and once you get coffee or another beverage you're close to the buffet, BUT if you want, say, huevos rancheros, then order from the menu. If you want pancakes, mickey waffles, and some eggs, get the buffet. :)

The breakfast burrito at Whitewater is very good and HUGE..for later in the day I loved the french dip.
Also the little refrigerators in GC have been cleaned out of the expensive stuff (or so my friend tells me) and you can just put your own stuff in there if you are trying for something quick in your room. The La Brea Cafe has a quick service type window and outdoor eating we really enjoyed. Very good quiche. The Rainforest serves breakfast and I've heard it isn't very crowded then.
I found Storytellers very expensive, but quality was fine.

Does anybody know if Rainforest Cafe is quieter in the mornings? I usually find them to be a bit loud for my personal taste in the evenings.
