GCA $259, DL Hotel $169, Paradise Pier $159, 8/24-12/18 2008

Okay the guy made a mistake and booked me as a cm apparently and that is how I got the $219/night!

That is not a valid rate for the pin code deal and I got some Disney magic... finally... because the manager decided to honor it anyway!

I am so sorry for getting you all worked up about this for nothing... that was not my intention at all. I had no idea he made a mistake and I never said anything about cm's or being one so i really don't know what happened there. I just mentioned the pin code???

I do think you should keep trying to find a better deal though, because he may have been correct about people cancelling and thus opening up lower rates. You never know if you don't try!

I read your posts about the mix-up on the other thread. No worries! I think it was meant to be for you to have that rate, so you must have done some good things in your time to earn little accidental surprises like this one!

Everyone together now.... Awwwwww!!!!! Good for you though! :thumbsup2 I hope they honor it when you show up in Dec!

Yeah... no kidding! I guess I'll have to wait and see, but I asked for email confirmation on it after she told me that they'd go ahead and honor it.

They'll end up getting the difference anyway once we're there and have to buy food and souvenirs!!!

I've never been lucky... not with things like this... just with having adorable kids and a great husband! I will make the most of this trip because I know I got really lucky and will not complain about anything while I'm there... not even one "OMG it's so crowded!"

I just love Disney service! I made a ressie yesterday using the PIN # on our mailer for late October. My best friend and her family are thinking about coming too. After reading about all the restrictions related to the PIN # on the board here, I called back today to ask about adding my friend's family to our reservation (the mailer said that you could have a max of 2 rooms per reservation). The CM bent over backwards to help us. She added a 7-day hold on a room for them (at the lower rate) so that they could think about it, got all of their info from me, linked our ressies and requested that our rooms be close together. Then she gave me a separate confirm # so that my friend could use that when she called to make her deposit. :worship:

How refreshing to have someone go out of their way to be helpful! Disney is just the best. When the CM who took our ressie yesterday found out that there were multiple birthdays and a wedding anniversary around the time of our visit, he took down each of our favorite Disney characters. He didn't tell me exactly what he was going to do, but I'm assuming that there will be some cute character things in our room for each of us.

i just got off the phone with the lady at (714)520-5045 reservations. I asked if there is anyway to look up my name in the computer to see if i have a pin discount (since i have not received anything) she said u hvae to have the postcard, i said ya but some ppl i know saisd u can look it up in the comp so we can see if we have 1 anyways, so she checked and no dice :( this sucks :[ and she said it was total random with how they send out the post cards

Tiffy-
Someone posted on this or another thread that the postcards are still going out!!! Don't give up hoe just yet, maybe your is on the way... at least give it until wed or thurs in case they sent some out yesterday!

Okay I meant "don't give up hope... not hoe!!!" Seriously bad with the typing today!!!

ya i'm still hoping i'm one of the "randoms" that will get this deal..I love disneyland and have never stayed at any of the hotels. In fact i'm trying to talk my bf that if we dont get a postcard, to spend $300 just for one night, that way he can just sleep in and he can meet me somewhere after he wakes up or if hes tired throughoutt he day he can go back to the room..its tempting for him so i'm sure we will stay at least one night there..i just wish i had the post card :[

I think people never realize how much a hotel room comes in handy and how much more they get done in the parks(s) when they have one until they have one! And it is tough to get people to reconcile the money they are spending with the convenience they will have and the extra rest they can get. All throughout my Disney-visiting childhood, whenever the adults took me there, no one ever thought about or wanted to get a hotel room at DLH (the only one there at that time), so everyone would make the long drive drive home at midnight or whatever, completely exhausted, falling asleep and not having had the energy to get everything done that we wanted to do. When I was old enough to start going on my own trips to DL with friends, in the '80s, I decided I wanted to stay at DLH, and going to the park without a hotel room to retreat to now is not the same!! I mean, I would go to the park without a hotel room if I had to, but as my friends and I age and we have various back, knee and foot problems that go with aging, those rooms are key to our good time when we can escape the heat and crowds of the parks in the middle of the day for rest, rejuvenation, foot-soaking and Motrin-taking and watching mindless TV, then we get a second wind and head back out to the parks later. We get so much more accomplished when we can have the appropriate balance of rest and activity! Plus, there is more to see at do now at DLR than there was when I was a kid, so you almost kind of NEED to hit the parks for more than one day, and to do that successfully, you need a hotel overnight!

I think, once your boyfriend sees the benefits of being at the hotel, he will be content with the decision to stay there. Or, maybe he is like many men who "accidentally" end up at the ESPN Zone in DTD while they are supposed to be resting in the room??!!!;)

Those are really great rates but I agree. . .I want better AP rates. . .lol. Oh and yes, I HATE HATE HATE that most So. Cal hotels are now charging resort fees, including Disney, which is ridiculous since they are the most overpriced hotels around. . .I mean I have Hilton Honors and can sometimes get the Hilton (a great deluxe across the street) for 55 a night. So with parking (11 a day) its still WAY less than a DLR hotel. . .

haha Sherry E...i'm gonna let him know what you said. Its going to be me, my bf, and my little 14 yr old bro. now me and my bro can easily wake up early but my bf likes to sleep in. So once he wakes up, he can call me and we can meet him somewhere. Lots of benefits cuz he wont feel tired and cranky all day cuz of no sleep lol..i'm the type of person who goes from one side of the park to other and my bf hates it lol. I have lots of energy so i wouldn't need the hotel myself to come back to, to rest or anything. But i have never been there and would love to go there. Its just $300..ouch!! lol...

Which hotel are you looking into? The GCH? And at what time of year? I love the GCH and especially around the holidays, and it IS the most convenient one in terms of location to the park, but it is costly! You could go with one of the cheaper ones - DLH or PPH. Those are not as close as GCH is but if it just comes down to a matter of giving your BF a place to sleep during the day, then PPH is fine. It is the cheapest one. It has a nice little coffee bar in the lounge and they are very nice there at the front desk. Your brother would probably like the DLH and it has a really cool waterfall and a koi fish pond. You really cannot go wrong with any of them, but there is more walking involved to stay at PPH or DLH. I tend to need the mid-day breaks to rest whatever is aching on me, but I usually have more stamina than my companions. Even if we are staying at the PPH, which is furthest out, I still want to head back into the parks at night and get things done, whereas whoever I am with doesn't want to walk all the way back over from the PPH. I hate lolling around like a lump for too long when I am paying for Park Hoppers. I want to get out and get things accomplished even when I am in pain! Not so for everyone, though, and the GCH is definitely the hotel that lends itself to getting to and from the parks in just a few minutes and I don't get as much resistance from whoever I am with because there is not as much walking!

not sure..was looking into DLH. the other 1 was way expensive. The disney hotel, how far away from teh parks is it, does it have an exclusive entrance and exits for the hotel guests to get into the park? and each hotel guests gets a special morning early entry to right when its available?

There is no special entrance or exit from the DLH into the parks. You only get that at the GCH, BUT you can go through the GCH to use the special entrance to DCA if you have Park Hoppers. PPH also does not have its own entrance, but again, it is the cheapest of the three and it is very nice. It is basic, nothing snazzy, but if you are not going to be in the room much it shouldn't matter. DLH is closer to DTD, which may please your brother and BF, as they can access the ESPN Zone easily if they want to! The walk from PPH to the parks is maybe about 10 minutes or so, probably faster if you walk fast. You would either walk across Disneyland Drive from the PPH to the GCH and cut through to DTD, then walk a few minutes through DTD to the DL park entrance, or you would just go straight to the GCH entrance to DCA. You can walk between PPH and DLH in about 5 to 7 minutes.

And yes, I believe you get an Early Entry to the park when you stay at any of the hotels, only on designated days though. Not every day.

If I am not mistaken, on my PIN# discount email, I THINK the DLH rate was quoted at $179 per night, but when I called Central last week, they quoted it as being $169. So I don't know why some of the offers are showing ten bucks more than others and then quoted as ten bucks less. Oh well, even though you cannot use yours, Jade, I am glad you got one because that means that you at least are on the mailing list and can be including in future offers! It was beginning to seem like they were leaving out people who definitely SHOULD be receiving the offers!

i think its couse we had to cancle our pph hotle stay earlyer this year lol but hay at least im on the mailing hehe it says 169 for dlh and 159 for pph to much for gch
