I just got a great offer in the mail from Disneyland. You can also view it at
disneyland.com/fall

Stay between Aut 24 and Dec 18, 2008 and get
Paradise Pier for $159 per night
Disneyland Hote for $169 per night
Grand Californian $259 per night

Here is the CATCH, you have to have a pin. My mailer shows me my pin, and it is quite a long number. I don't know how they determine who gets the mailer, but I do have an Annual Pass, and a Disney Visa, so that may be who they are sending the mailers to.

Thanks so much! I am an AP plus I have the Visa so here's hoping I get this too! I will say these rates aren't quite as good as last years' AP rates but I'll take 'em. But they might still come out with AP rates also, who knows!

I got the same postcard last week and was so excited. I am not an AP holder and I don't have a Disney Visa, but I have signed up for everything Disney online and we have visited WDW, most recently for a 4 night/5 day stay at the Polynesian... which was not cheap!!!

I was really excited about the offer, but have since found out that the best rate I can find for a stay in either Oct, Nov or Dec is $269 at the GCH and that doesn't include the taxes or the $12/day resort fee! I thought we were definitely going for Halloween, but after tallying up the airfare from Phoenix, the GCH for only 2 nights, the airport shuttle and 3 day park tix we are at $1700! So I don't know if we'll be taking advantage of the postcard deal.

According to the gentleman I spoke with at Disney reservations you have to go in Sept to get the starting rate down to the $259/night at the GCH! Just an FYI for anyone who cares. What is up with DisneyLand? I don't recall getting charged a resort fee at the Poly and WDW offers free shuttle service as well as free resort parking for resort guests!

Bethy-
I wish I could give you my postcard since I don't know if we can afford to use it! I hope your anniv trip is terrific!!!

Resort fees are becoming the norm here in the west. . . I sure wish they'd just raise the hotel rates instead of tacking on extra charges for parking, internet, exercise room that I never use and a newspaper that I don't read. . .

Yes, its a drag. I guess most Florida hotel don't do this...so WDW doesn't? But definitely resort hotels in SoCal do add a resort fee. And I'm such a complete sucker at check-in that I end up paying valet on top!!!

I got a pin last year too but when I went to book the AP4 rate was so much better. Here's hoping an AP rate is so much better this year too!

Must resist temptation to consider staying at the DLH. Must resist temptation. . . Well, you get the idea.

Do you remember what the AP rates were?

I'm pretty sure the GCH standard view was $199. I'm praying for that again. There were conceige and nicer view rates at all the hotels, too.

princessLoLo'smom if you ever decide for sure you don't need your PIN feel free to PM it to me. :) Though I might still be tempted to hold out for possible AP rates. We are going for our 12th Anniversary. We didn't go anywhere for our 10th because our youngest DD was too young for us to leave at the time. It's still a surprise - DH has no idea! Yay!

I bet it is for AP holders. I have certainly stayed at the Disney resorts before (twice last year) but I bet I won't get that offer because I am not an AP holder nor do I have the Visa. You would think it would say on your mailer that it is an exclusive AP offer, but maybe not. So you got the mailer that has the pin, but if you use that pin online, you get more details? I don't understand why they have the info online if not everyone has the pin. In any case, I have a friend who has an AP but I doubt I could use her mailer/pin because they would need to match the name on the offer to the name on the reservation.

I can't find it online either. I have no clue why some got this mailer and some did not. I have an AP and have been a guest at the DLH and did not get it. If anyone has anymore info on how to get this offer if you didnt get the mailer that would be great.

I am on the phone right now to see if you can still get the deal even without a pin....if you don't ask, you don't get, right?

If you want to view the offer details go to disneyland.com/fall

It didn't say anything on the postcard about AP or Disney Visa... I don't have either and still got the postcard. My husband thinks it has to do with our stay at WDW, but I don't think that explains an offer for Disneyland. I think it has to do with signing up at online Disney sites like Disney Movie Rewards for example.

I guess the resort fee thing is just a sign of the times, but it doesn't help me sell my husband on another Disney trip! It really stinks if you know ahead of time that you will not be taking advantage of the ammenities they are charging you extra for!

A local radio station here in Phoenix was running a contest for the new Toy Story Mania ride and I tried so hard to win that free trip! I must have entered the "Toy Story character of the day" a million times over 4 days, but somehow managed to not win!

Okay, talked to a CM who spoke to a supervisor and they are testing out a new way of offering discounts. You can only get the rates if you get the email with a pin or a postcard with a pin. So..........if anyone is not using theirs we can start a list for those of us who could use the discount and if people would pass on the discount? What do you guys think?

For all those who want special offers from Disneyland, go to disneyland.com and register and you should get emails about special offers. I am not sure if you will get this email. I just called the WDTC and they told me to register online so I did.

I found a cool thing for preschoolers after going to that disneyland.com/fall site. If you scroll down and click on the christmas wreath and then on the "virtual christmas tree" link on the left you can decoratre a tree with lights, candy canes, gingerbread men, snowflakes, etc... Then you can flip the switch and the lights glow, the gingerbread men move their arms and legs and the candy canes swirl. It was so much fun for my 4 year old daughter and she wants to decorate that tree everyday now! Her computer skills are improving dramatically because of that tree.

You can probably get to it by looking up Christmas at Disneyland somehow, but after stumbling upon it I thought I'd share for those of you with little ones wanting free online games geared towards preschoolers.

There are other things like printing out Disney gift labels, etc... that are cool too.

Thanks godalejunior! :worship:

They must be trying the WDW approach b/c this is what I've heard happens with the resorts there.

Put me to work - I'd be happy to help manage such a list.
