Gazebos @ 2005 Flower & Garden Show

Just returned from a week at WDW inspired to build a gazebo like this

which we saw in the "Ultimate Backyard" area between France and Morocco. Has anyone seen plans for this thing (or something like it)?

That is a nice gazebo. If we had one, then we would use it alot at our house. I can just picture a hibachi-bbq grill right next to it.

That's a nice gazebo. There are plenty of books on the market with plans. I've seen them in the library. We have a gazebo and use it all the time. Our BBQ is kept in it so I can cook even in the rain I like that the one in the pic has shades that you can unroll. Great idea.

Thanks for welcoming my DH . Of course now that we are planning to fix up our backyard and build some kind of covered area, we were noticing every gazebo-like thing at WDW on our trip last week. And boy are there a LOT in the parks and at the resorts that we have overlooked in the past . If anyone here has one in your backyard and cares to post a picture, we'd love to see yours. I'm sure some are posted here already, so I'll also look back over the F&G forum .

There are a lot in the parks. I noticed it too. Here's a pic of ours. It's off the deck all on one level. I have a picture of the pergola posted here somewhere but that doesn't have an enclosed top.

Hi, Mary Jo . I wasn't kidding when I said you were the one DISer who I knew would be there that I was hoping to run into. I'm so glad your DH spotted my DIS button and that y'all caught me (even if I was coming out of the POTC bathroom ). 4 other DISers (including 2 CM's) spotted me, too, but you were the only one I "knew".

Deb - Your yard looks beautiful . And I don't know if it's on purpose, but the three roses in your signature jumped out at me as looking like a hidden Mickey. But I tend to see them everywhere .

I am going to have to start checking out this forum more regularly to get ideas. Our house is old (1930's) and we are finally getting around to fixing up the backyard. It was neglected for years by the previous owner and has just been an overgrown, weedy mess. The first thing we need is a new fence.

Bert and Ernie are very, very handsome. I would like to rub their bellies. I was in that very same bathroom when DH spotted your Dis button and told me. I'm glad I met you. I gotta get a Dis button now for my next trip.

Thanks Krista, we have lots of weeds to take care of this spring too. The dandelions are everywhere I love older homes, they have so much more character than new ones.

Hey Krista, Did you you ever get a new fence?

Nope, but we went looking at fencing supplies at Lowe's and Home Depot over the weekend. That is the first step in this big backyard project. Well, actually I guess it's the second big step. We cut down an old tree a few weeks ago. It was only half alive and hollow in the middle. But it sure was a LOT of work.

We still need to find out if the Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary who owns the house next door is willing to pay for part or provide the labor for a new wooden fence (hint, hint to KristaTXsDH ). Maybe I'll go out this week and take down the chain link fence, which is ours, and see if they approach us .
