Anyone visited this to stay or eat at the restaurants? DH is keen to try it in October. Advice?

Excellent place to visit, bit like a vegas hotel. the huge glass roof is something else. We had an evening meal at a buffet style Italian restaurant, but what a buffet! excellent quality food, you can sit outside on the terrace but you're still inside under the glass roof. about $25 a head.

We visited last October/November and we intend to stay for a couple of nights in January 2004. It's an incredible place. We ate lunch at Sunset Sam's Fish Camp which is a restaurant on a 60 foot sailboat on a lagoon inside the hotel! The food was sensational, although the menu was a tad limited - I think the dinner menu is more extensive. We'd also intended to return to eat at Old Hickory Steakhouse, but we ran out of time. It'll certainly be a priority next trip.

Have you checked out their website?

Two thumbs WAY up for the Gaylord Palms. It is a truly amazing creation (especially when lit at night) and all three restaurants are worth trying (although Old Hickory is a tad expensive, I reckon). I stayed there for a few nights last year and had a room overlooking the Everglades part of the atrium - just sensational (beautiful rooms, too). It has great facilities for kids and it is VERY convenient for Disney (just 5 mins to Animal Kingdom, 10 to MK).
