This is our third trip to Gaylord. We visited Memorial Day weekend, middle aged couple, no kids, - a getaway weekend for us. Check in was a breeze, got a room rate of $129 for a std room, clerk even gave us a free upgrade to an atrium view room. We were on the hotel lobby floor level in the everglades section. Noice view on our balcony. Since our last visit, the pool area's been re-done. The kids pool is fabulous with a water park-ish play area and a huge theater stage and screen for dive-in movies. The adult pool far less extravagant, a faily simple long skinny rectangle. Unimpressive. On site eateries are very pricey though the Villa de Flora buffet remains one of our faves in all of central FL. My biggest beef is the breakfast choices. There's a grab and go deli thats way too undersized for an 800+ room hotel, and there's only 1 of them. 20 minute line for coffee in the morning! Otherwise, you have a $$$ buffet breakfast. Still in all, GP is one of the most interesting upscale places to stay and we continue to like it very much.
