Hope not offend anyone, but when is a good time to avoid Gay Days we are going 5 days before is starts,is that good enough time before it starts?

I saw some videos online and some of the people on these days just did not show the respect and common courtesy toward others around them. Cursing when there's kids around, frolicking with hand play, it's just not ...I should say..necessary.

My brother law is gay and I love him to death, he doesn't act like that so I'm not targeting a group, I'm targeting piss poor uneducated behavior which is universal. It applies to any person or people that want to act up with the "I don't care attitude". A theme park is not the time nor place for that, especially with kids around, The whole thing should be shut down .

The busiest days are Thursday through Sunday of that weekend.

I agree with you that behaviors occur which are less-than-seemly - though it's my experience that as gay families have become more common, and more gay couples come with their own kids, the incidence of such things is less and less. However, your final comment betrays your bigotry. Everyone who attends and enjoys this event should not be punished for the misbehavior of a few. Should we shut down soccer matches in England because some hooligans start fights in the stands? Your proposed solution to the problem is draconian, and reveals your true, subconscious homophobia.

If I remember correctly its busiest mid week through the weekend. I went a few years back with my best friend and her wife and we had a great time, we avoided the busiest parks each day and it was mostly just like any other WDW holiday I have had. I don't think it matters when you go to WDW, you will nearly always come across someone acting inappropriately in some way. Like my wee Granny always said, 'No matter where you go there, will always be someone ready to cause trouble!'

Thanks so much this helps, just want to avoid kids asking questions,I'm not ready to answer:)

This behavior can occur at the parks with just about any group. I've had to discuss all kinds of inappropriate behaviors with my son as a response to something he has witnessed. Just part of being a parent. I don't try to judge the people in my explanations, just offer up a possible explanation. I guess the same would go for gay days.

Do they know when Gay week is for 2014 we are trying to plan a family trip

Gay days are always scheduled around the first Saturday in June. Sometimes that falls the weekend after Memorial Day, sometimes it is the second weekend. For 2014, the first Saturday is June 7th, so basically the 5th through the 8th.

Trust me, avoiding gay days does not avoid people of the same sex possibly holding hands, giving each other a kiss, etc. I think you're trying to avoid something that cannot be avoided.

This is true everywhere, not just Disney. We even hug and hold hands in public in conservative areas like Texas. ;)

We went right before the start of Gay Days and were there the Saturday it started. The crowds beforehand were moderate. It was very busy that Saturday that it started but really there was nothing unseemly or anything I wouldn't want my kids to be exposed to...nothing that they wouldn't see anyways just walking around in a public place. I don't think any of the kids care really, so what if they see two guys holding hands? They're going to see it eventually if they haven't already. :)
