We've previously stayed in the Hilton and found this quite convenient but next year we need over 3 weeks parking so I'm shopping around for a good deal.

Has anyone got any suggestions as to which hotel to book, who to book through, when I'd be able to book (for August 2006!) etc etc?

Hi

We stayed at the Gatwick Hilton too with 3 weeks parking. We booked with ABC
They have 2006 dates on the site. We did have to ring them though to get the prices for 3 week parking.

The past few times we have flown from Gatwick we have actually used a taxi service to drop us of and collect us. They have our return flight details and check to see if the flight is on time or not. It is so much easier not having to drive home after a night flight with no sleep. We travel from Bedfordshire and the costs are reasonable.

Thanks for the responses.

Squitty - can't see anything on there yet for August but will keep looking.

Magicgirl - food for thought, but I think hubby would just prefer to have car at the airport & drive straight home. Only takes about an hour and a half.

We always use a local chauffeur driven car hire firm to take/collect us to and from the airport - so much safer after an overnight flight. From here in Swindon it costs us around £160 return which we think VERY reasonable.

We're staying at the Hilton as well, couldn't get a good price for the Meridian, our personal choice. So all in , car and hotel cost less than £260 - not bad really.

We are off to Florida in October for 3 weeks and are staying at the hilton. I phoned them direct and got the number for their long term parking company and just booked up the remainder direct.

Hi

There are dates right up until Apr 2007...you have to use the drop down menu and they are all there:)

We have stayed at quite a few of the airport hotels over the years. Last time we flew out we stayed at the Quality Inn at Crawley. Dreadful place, workmen all over the scaffolding outside and dust in the rooms. Their package only includes parking at the north terminal but the bus from the site they use only takes you to south terminal. We then had to catch the monorail back to north. We were due to stay there again in October but contacted abc and they changed our booking to the Copthorne.

We always stay at the Hilton purley for convenience sake as its attached to the airport and we are there when we wake up (we always use Virgin's twlight check in).

We don't ever drive or get parking, what we normally do is hire a car for a day to drive down to Gatwick and then we arrange to pick one up when we get back from our holidays, I have never liked leaving my car at the airport parking.

2 years ago I mananged to get the Mridian for £50 for the night through price line (asking only for 5*) and did parking seperalty.

Yes, by Sofitel I believe, although I'm not sure if the signage etc has changed. I think that Miffy2003 (think that's right) was staying there last weekend, so perhaps she will let us know if there any changes when she gets back.

We prefer Le Meridien, and the parking is not that far away, maybe 5 minutes drive max. There's no problem dropping cases etc at hotel and then going to park. On the way back, just one pf goes to pick up the car drives to the arrivals pick up.

It's not the cheapest option to stay onsite, but it is definitely the most convenient.

We are staying at Le Meridien this November. Booked with Holiday Extras who could get us a family room, and there is also an offer for half price breakfast, which is always quite good.

Yeah, I've done that but nothing came up for the Hilton - only a couple of hotels available to book at the moment with parking. Ah well, will keep trying.

I see what you mean now..LOL I would give them a ring. They were cheaper than all the others we tried.
Good Luck

I don't think Hilton have released the rates yet for next year to include parking. I called last week to get the rates for next May and was told that they would not be out for another couple of months. They only have rates upto the end of the year at the moment.

Hope this helps.
