We are doing twighlight checkin with virgin for our next trip, we normally stay at the gatwick hilton but wondered if anyone else has any better suggestions. We are taking our car so will need parking as well so would like parking that is close to the hotel or easy to reach with courtesy transport. Often the hilton can be quite expensive, we have been quoted £155.00 this year. :earboy2:

BUMP

I would be interested in any hotels in the area with family rooms, we will be parking in the long term carpark at Gatwick (DH gets this free as he will be working for BAA by then, what a great perk) and therefore unlike other years we are not bothered with hotels with parking, even though we might still stay at the Hilton as there family rooms are fantastic and the boys won't have to share a bed so that's a plus they will be 13 & 9 and the eldest is now no longer keen on sharing with his younger brother even for only one night!! I would also be interested in any website were I can book a family room at the Hilton - most do not allow you to!!

I have stayed at le meridien and the Hilton at Gatwick, if I do it again le meridien will win, much better all round.

Don't know about Hilton, but DS flew into Gatwick in Dec and stayed overnight at the Holiday Inn Gatwick ($45 on Priceline). Nice hotel. They had a hotell/airport shuttle, but thre was a charge, I think, not sure about htat.

I thought I saw on their website they had stay and park rates.

We've stayed at both these two hotels and agree with you, Le Meridien wins hands down. Sure it's further away from the Virgin check in desks but it's hardly the end of the world with the monorail connection.

It's a straight choice: flying from the South terminal the Hilton wins hands down on convenience (especially if you have an early check in) but you have to pay (dearly!) for it.

we've stayed at The Copthorne twice and loved it, room and 15 nights parking for £99. There is a regular shuttle bus to the airport as well.

feel free to PM for more details
