Hello,
I am looking for advice. I had gastric bypass surgery and I have a note from my Dr. stating I cannot consume normal amounts of food and an ideal meal would be a child size portion. Many restaurants have accomidated me. I want to purchase the meal plan, but I have no idea if I would be able to use the Dr. letter and be able to only pay for the child plan. I would be purchasing an adult plan for my husband. Does anyone have any experience with this or can point me in the right direction? Thanks so much!

That's a good question. I think the best way to find out would be to call disney dining. I don't know what their policy is regarding selling the kids meal plan to adults. I am pretty sure you'd both have to be on the dining plan since that's the way the package works so if they won't let you purchase the kids plan you'd both have to pay as adults or opt to not take the DDP. You also might want to check out the DISabilities forum and see if anyone has posted their experiences there regarding needing smaller meals for whatever health reason.

Congratulations! Hope everything is working out well for you. My husband had the bypass surgery 2 yrs. ago August, lost 120 lbs and still is doing wonderfully! Loooookin' good! We have used the dining plan twice in the past year and a half. We order and he ate as much as he wanted and then we took the rest back to the room. We stayed once at the Pop during that time and they gave us a refridgerator as a medical reason at no cost. He had to eat several meals all day, and had to eat FIRST thing when he got up in the morning, so he usually used his leftovers for that. Never hurts to ask about the child's plan though. Oh, and they never asked any questions regarding the surgery (for the fridge). Good Luck!!

It would depend on how much you can eat without feeling uncomfortable. My Dad had this operation and couldnt eat a lot

I would be inclined to look at the menus and prices of the restaurants you want to go to and work out whether it will save you money or not :thumbsup2
