Hi cajunpeach...we're neighbors!
Someone else on the boards had mentioned that Turkey Lake Park is close by and cheap. It's not the Fort...but you can't beat the price for a overnight stay!
Hi neighbor!!! I guess you camp at Lake Lanier often??? We went for the first time Memorial Day weekend. Too bad the lake is sooo far down. We had a lovely view of mud
We camp at Allatoona often. The lake is above full pool (last I heard) It's great boating & camping there and VERY close to home (5 minutes)
Holy moly, I just checked out River Ranch.... they have lots for sale for over $100,000 (I was being my nosey self) . It appears they are trying to keep up with Disney for nightly cost. Around $80 per night during peak season (Thanksgiving - April and holidays). I keep it in mind, KOA was $58 a night but nary a tree in sight.Ok, it wasn't that bad but almost
Never stayed there but I was seriously looking into staying at Wekiwa Springs State Park just north of Orlando for a few days to wait for "value" season for check in. It was much cheaper than FW and the pictures on the website looked good with decent campground activities.
On 192W almost to US Hwy 27 is an Encore park. It is very nice, and about 5-6 miles from WDW. I'd make a ressie for the Encore, and cancel if you can book your days at FtW.
