We will be heading south in about 9 days. We live about a mile off of I 75 here in Cincinnati, and my mom lives just off an exit about 1000 miles south of here. Can anybody tell me how gas prices are along the way? We usually like to stop at Shell stations. Thanks.

In Chattanooga, TN it's about $1.89 (lowest octane) right off the freeway. Was in Knoxville yesterday and it was anywhere between $1.75 to $1.80

Can't answer your gasoline price question, but hope to see you at WDW while you are there. We're leaving about the same time but we'll be driving down I-77/I-95.

BTW - You need to read and clean out your PM inbox. It's full.

We live in East Ridge, TN - last exit before Georgia state line.

As Kellyb2000 (howdy neighbor) said, it's $1.89 for regular at most stations here.

Regular will be 5 - 10 cents per gallon cheaper just over the Georgia line 9 (about 2 miles south).

I'm off of I-75 in Macon, Georgia and it is $1.63 as of yesterday.

Whenever we travel, we stop at the various Flying J Truck Stops on the road. Their gas prices are usually among the lowest in the area. They have a great website which lists their prices at all their truck stops across the nation. You can check it out here as you get closer to your trip:

http://www.flyingj.com/fuel/gasoline_CF.cfm

I pulled up the prices at their truck stops along I-75 in the states you mentioned. Prices are for regular, plus and premium:

Walton, KY - Exit 171: 1.729, 1.819, 1.899
Knoxville, TN - (I40 & I75) Exit 369: 1.859, 1.949, 2.029
Resaca, GA - Exit 320: 1.769, 1.849, 1.939
Jackson, GA - Exit 201: 1.849, 1.939, 2.019
Lake Park, GA - Exit 2: 1.849, 1.929, 2.019
Dade City, FL - Exit 285: 1.919, 2.009, 2.089

Hope this helps you out. We always check their website before we leave so we know if there are any cheaper prices as we're travelling.

I bought gas today in Knoxville; it was $1.80 a gallon regular.

Gas seems less expensive south of Knoxville away from the interstates and most expensive west of Knoxville off I-40/75 although exit 374 (Lovell Road) usually has a reasonable price. Gas is always very expensive at exit 81 of I-75 just south of Knoxville (Lenoir City). It averages about 8 cents more at this exit.

Have a great trip.

Thanks Everybody! I will take a look at those sites.

Towncrier--I was able to clean some items out of my PM box, but not all  . Thanks for letting me know of the problem.

I live abouat an exit and a half past you, but in Georgia. In my area, it's $1.75. About an hour south from where PCWizard lives, it's around $1.72.:)

Just went down to $1.91 today. Hess stations on Disney property are at $1.94. Outside Disney, LBV area is over $2.
