Hey folks

Back to Aulani for 2nd visit in June and we are thinking about doing a couple BBQ dinners. How many grills are there? do they get busy with long waits? Are they in the direct sun or are they shaded? how was overall experience?

thx for any info

I can't remember if there are four or six. Semi-shade if I remember correctly....located kind of behind Aunty's unless they have been moved. There are also some picnic tables. We only had to wait a short time (because I think one or two were not working). They scrub them down every morning. It was kind of fun to chat with others and see what they were making. You pick up tools at the community hall (which is not very close to the grills so make sure you pick them up first).

Aulani has four gas grills and two or three picnic tables. By the mid-afternoon, the grills and tables have at least partial shade. Here are some photos we took in October of the picnic area, which is located on the Ewa side of the resort just past Auntie's Beach House.

We've grilled there twice - and it was not overly busy - one time there was one other family and the second 2 other families. We did not eat outside though, we took the grilled food back to our room - I had cooked the rest of the meal inside. :) You can get grilling utensils from the community center near the pool.

And they do restrict the hours for the grills. I think you now can't use them before 4pm? I just glanced when we were there a couple of months ago but seemed to recall something like 4-8 or 9PM.

Thanks for the update. We are going in June and were planning on using the grills a couple of times.
