Garlic Bread!

I usually make it a couple times a month. I usually buy the two pack of bagettes at Costco and make garlic bread with one and croutons with the other. The croutons from one loaf will do a whole weeks worth of salads.

How often do you have garlic bread with dinner?

Do you make it yourself or buy it already made?

My children love garlic bread. Any kind but they esp like the Pepperidge Farms frozen bread. I swear I could serve them pancakes and they would still ask for bread.

Anyone else?

I make garlic bread or the garlicky Texas toast about once a week. I only serve it when we have ziti & sausage, chicken Parmesan or lasagna.

Other than that I rarely serve rolls or bread with dinner; the only other meals I would serve bread or rolls with would be chili (cornbread), beef stew or chicken veggie soup. But I probably make one of those meals less than once a month.

Bread is a mainstay of our meals. DH was raised with bread and butter on the table every night. Growing up, his family hardly ever grilled out or eat sandwiches as part of their evening meal, so they went through a lot of bread in a week. While I like some type of bread with some meals, bread every single evening is over kill for me.

When we do garlic bread, DH perfers it made with a loaf of french bread, while the kids like it made with texas toast slices better.

Just had some tonight actually. I would say depending on our meals throughout the month I would say 0-3 times in any given month.

I never make it now because I follow a low-carb eating plan. But, when I used to make it (about once a week) I loved it. I'd take some good bread, soak it in melted butter, and top it was a ton of chopped garlic. Then, I'd broil for about 5 minutes. YUM!!

Combination. Our local Butera has 99 cent half loaves, so we get that occasionally. Or I'll make our own.

VERY occasionally, I make the Pioneer Woman's "The Bread." Amazing.

I do make corn muffins or biscuits frequently. Great biscuit recipe.

So I tried "The Bread," twice. First time we had a big lunch and were just snacking for dinner so I thought why not? I only put 1/2 a stick of butter on each. I thought surely this loaf is smaller and you don't need that much butter. Wrong. It was GOOD, but not incredible. Then tonight I needed a quick low-maintanence dinner and picked up a rotisserie chicken and decided to grab another loaf and try again, this time trusting the Pioneer Woman and using a full stick (I only made 1/2 the loaf). Oh my....it was amazing.

I like garlic bread when I'm eating it, but as soon as I'm done, I want the taste gone: I hate having garlicky breath! I much prefer a crunchy baguette --I love the crusty butt--in olive oil or with real butter. Yummy, minus halitosis!

We don't have garlic bread very often, but when we do, I make it according to a simple philosophy: The bread exists only to hold the butter, and the butter exists only to hold the garlic.
