OK, we got Il Mulino out of the way, let's move on to the high tea at the Grand Floridian. DW and I were going to MNSSHP that evening so we decided to have a late afternoon tea beforehand and then nosh during the party (is that a Casey's hot dog calling my name?). Our reservation was for three PM and we arrived to a beautifully appointed dining room with surrounding floor to ceiling windows. And yes, there were men in attendance without a single brat and beer in evidence.

The appointments included the usual excellent job done by the Disney florists. This display was right next to our table as we looked out to the GF atrium lobby.

The menu is typical of English tea service, offering an excellent variety of teas (which they bring to you loose in a chest to make your selection - see next photo) and light offerings appropriate for tea service.

Wait staff is also excellent. When DW started to explain to the server that she could not have anything with seeds or nuts, the server (sorry, forgot her name) sat down and reviewed literally everything on the menu with her. Note, the open chest of tea choices on the table.

After speaking with DW, the server spoke with the chef and they prepared a special plate of tea sandwiches consisting of egg salad and shrimp salad sandwiches. Not a seed or nut in 'em.

I needed a little more than that to hold me over until my planned fireworks stop at Casey's so I ordered the Gentleman's Tea Platter consisting of assorted (3) pates, stilton blue cheese, marinated fresh berries (red raspberries and blackberries), Cumberland sauce and loaded with toasted walnuts. And the glass of Fonseca port set everything off perfectly.

There were also scones served with rich Devonshire cream however, like many of us, I was too involved with the offerings at this point and forgot to take a picture.

That's it for this report. Next up - wine pairing at the Living Seas (wine, wine, wine!)

Thanks for sharing! I've heard such good things about The GF Tea that we will be attending in December.
