I am looking at maps and its basically like french to me....I am just not good with them and trying to figure out all of these areas.... but is 'Garden Grove' far? I was looking at the HI Express Garden Grove and it looks quite nice. Sorry for all of my dumb questions lately....

Garden Grove is very close to DL. It would take you about 10-15 minutes to get to the parks from your hotel with the traffic in the area if you rented a car. Although, I'm sure they have a tram, most hotels do, even the ones by Knott's Berry Farm. I've never been to that specific hotel. There are good and bad parts to GG, can you tell me what the cross streets are? Or do you have the address so I could look it up for you?

It is at...
12867 GARDEN GROVE BLVD
Garden Grove, CA 92843
and looks like a beautiful little hotel. Just built in 2003. Found a rate of $59 with brekkie, wet bar, fridge & micro.

That does look very nice!! I would say to definitely go for it!! Especially if you're getting a great deal! It is relatively close to DL, probably about 3 miles away or so. That's not bad, and like I said, you can use your shuttle service. And you're right in the middle of the city, so there are lots of resources around you for food and things.

p.s. You are NOT asking dumb questions!! :earsgirl:
If you have any questions about the area, or anything really, please feel free to PM me anytime! I'm always on the DIS!

Lollipop's Mom: You can also go to Tripadvisor.com to check consumer ratings of various hotels. I have relied on this site many times to check out the skinny on various places we have stayed. What I like about it is that all the hotels are rated by just regular people. I find that some of the ratings and photos on sites like expedia can be a little misleading. Have fun with your planning, just still so happy this is going to work out for you!

If I could find a good rate closer, I'd find a different hotel. It's not too far from the parks.... about a 15 minute drive or so. (all city streets) but, the neighborhood that it's in is not the ideal place to be in.

Thanks. I found the Del Sol for the same rate - so tempted to go there. Much closer! Decisions decisions....if only money was no object, I would be booking into the Disneyland Hotel!

If that has decent rooms, that'd be the best choice. You'd be walking distance to DL.... and technically CLOSER than the DL Hotel. Just to be in that area though is much better. You'll have stuff that you can do at DTD and you can just walk back to your hotel and not have to drive. Around your original hotel, the only choices around their would be hanging out at the hospital, car shops, or adult book stores.
Check on Mouseplanet review on the Del Sol... Can't remember what it used to be called before.
What are your dates and where have you been checking for rates? A lot of people really like the Hojo's which is across the street from DL and the two Best Western's across the street are decent too. There's other good ones in the area so, keep checking.
