Trying to decide if we should order Garden Grocer (which we did in the past and loved) or take a taxi to the nearest supermarket and picking up groceries. Any thoughts?

The taxi fare is likely to be comparable to the delivery fee/tips. Garden Grocer has a bit of a markup, but time is money on vacation. I would order from Garden Grocer (or, if you prefer, We Go Shop) and not think twice about it.

Agreed. We rent a car and in the past have made pit stops at Walmart on our way in, but I get so anxious when I do this. I have waited all year long to get to Disney and the last thing I want to do when I finally arrive is go grocery shopping. So this time we are ordering from GG. :thumbsup2

We have ordered from Garden Grocer in the past & will do so again next trip. Everything in order was correct, delivered on time, and I didn't find pricing to be too bad. Worth the extra expense for us to not spend vacation time going grocery shopping - I do too much of it at home already!

those taxis and even the one day rental cars are indeed pricey, putting your right back to where you'd be if you ordered from Wegoshop or Garden Grocer. The only benefit of going to the store on your own is to:

chose exactly what you want (sometimes the on line orders dont have everything

use your coupons (if you're a coupon shopper)

better selections (again, not all items/brands are listed)

Benefit of ordering groceries and having them delivered:

you order what you need (dont end up impulse shopping like you would at the store)

more time having fun on vacation

no hassle of where to go/having a taxi wait for you

Another alternative is to use wegoshop.com We used them in Sept and they were great! They will shop at any store you want (we used Super Target) They charge you the cost of your items and a small fee (plus tip) If you would like, they will leave your items at bell services.

Another Wegoshop.com fan. We have used them 6 times and will again in the Fall. Everything was as ordered and right on time.

We just used wegoshop last October for the first time and LOVED it! We plan on using it for all subsequent trips, as the service was fantastic and they shop wherever you'd like. We have used the Disney internal service in the past, and although it was good, there is a lot more variety/cost saving in using wegoshop.

Can you purchase beer and wine through Wegoshop. I looked at Garden Grocer and could not find it. We are on the Disney Dining plan (13 people) and need food for moring breakfast, snacks, and some beer and wine.

We used GG last year and were not impressed they brought the wrong size of Diapers and it took them 48 hours to put it right. I much prefer to just go to Publix. The GG picks there stuff from Publix but charges a huge mark up.

Yes ...... wegoshop does purchase any alcohol you ask for. In fact, we were a bit sheepish when she arrived at our villa in October because MOST of our order was for alcohol/beer/mixers. She quickly clarified for me that most of her business is in bringing booze and breakfast, so not to feel "weird" about it. Whether that is true or not, I don't care ...... I felt better. In our defense, it was my DH and 4 21-23 yo's. What could you expect?:confused3

You can add alcohol to a Garden Grocer order as well---just add it in your comments section.

My vote is for wegoshop.com! I have done the grocery run and much prefer the delivery. I really enjoyed getting to start my vacation with my family and not have to go to the store and haul all of the groceries up to the room, put them away....you get the picture. Have a magical time!
