Hi all,

I have used Garden Grocer for our past 5 trips & love their service, have never had a problem with an order. I love how they package everything & you get good expiration dates - nothing that has been sitting around.

I've recently been hearing about Amazon Prime now - was thinking of trying it as they had a few items that GG did not offer.

I'm wondering how they compare - does amazon prime now keep the milk/perishables refrigerated and your order packaged / organized nicely like GG does?

Thanks for any feedback, Marina

I haven't yet used any grocery delivery service but I am strongly considering it for my next trip and have been doing some research to prepare. I read somewhere that Publix delivers if you order more than $50 of products. Do you think this is a viable option or should I stick to one of the main services (garden grocer, amazon prime, safeway)?

I've used both but now prefer Safeway. Not sure if you knew that was an option.

Safeway has a much better selection than either, plus much lower prices than Garden Grocer.

Thanks, I will look into that too. Is everything packaged nice / good expiration dates just like Garden Grocer?

Ho far in advance do you have to order from Safeway?

I just ordered from GG for my August trip (If you order >60 days in advance, you get a 10% discount). I like their attention to detail. One time (and one time only..) they forgot the butter. I had the requested butter within 1/2 hour. They are very considerate.

Yes, it's all nicely packaged in shopping bags.

I don't order too far in advance; usually I start filling my cart then place the order about a week ahead of time. You can add or delete items until about the day before.

What about perishables? Did I read that they only put in ice packs and that they are not refrigerated upon delivery?

I ordered from both places mainly because GG will deliver alcohol without you being there and prime now doesn't (at least not yet).

PrimeNow inventory is constantly changing so you can't rely on it to have something 2 months from now.

I did look into safeway, but I couldn't get it to accept the hotel delivery address so I gave up (and I really didn't feel like opening an account with a store I'd only use once)

I have used both and everything went great with both. Orders in our room when we got there with both. I have no complaints. I had used Garden Grocer for every trip until last year when I decided to use Prime Now. They did use the Ice packs for the fruit; but the difference is you can place a Prime Now order with much less notice than Garden Grocer so I didn't place it until we were about to board our plane. We had a non-stop flight so I knew when we would arrive so I set the delivery time so that we would be there within 30 minutes or so. Prime Now is cheaper. I guess it will come down to what you want to order. Garden Grocer is going to have pretty much anything you can think of. The Prime Now inventory is a bit more limited. We only needed drinks, some snack items and some breakfast items.

Once at Pop, the bell services actually put our cold items in our fridge (we were at the parks). I've had items held in a fridge and/or freezer at other resorts. Most of the time I'm there, and now for alcohol Safeway requires you to be there and I usually order some, so I just time it to be at the resort anyway.

I have never used any of these services. We are staying in a cabin at Fort Wilderness in August and I am interested in getting some items shipped to the resort. I was wondering, is there a difference in how the items are shipped to your cabin depending on the service you order from. For example, do any of the services deliver directly to your specific cabin or do you have to pick the delivery up somewhere? If so, is there another charge that Disney will charge you for receiving a delivery that they have to handle?

Thank in advance to anyone that can help with these questions for a Newbie :)

We always use Safeway when we travel. Last week at Pop, the hotel put our groceries in our room and put the cold stuff in the fridge.

I had no trouble putting the hotel address in. You have to change YOUR address in your account. We change it every time we travel, to whatever hotel we are at.

They will deliver to the front desk. You can ask them to call you and meet them there or they will leave it with the desk. Disney did not charge us a fee last wrrk

Each time I try to put the zip code in for Kidani on safeways website it says they don’t deliver to that zip code. Anyone have different experience?

Any info on having Safeway deliver to a non Disney hotel? We are staying at the Waldorf and would love to have some things delivered.

I thought this was the case as well, and was surprised when, just last week, Prime Now delivered our black box of wine when we were not present.

They also delivered fresh milk and produce in addition to our other non perishables. I was impressed, and I’d use it again.

The alcohol with PrimeNow must be new(ish). It definitely wasn't an option in early May. We also used it mid-stay for an emergency order of wipes and applesauce pouches.

On my order it explicitly said that a person over 21 would be required to receive the delivery. I guess bell services was good enough for the delivery person? I definitely wouldn’t count on it, and I’m sure it was a mistake.

UPDATE:

Thanks everyone for their good advice, I ordered with GG (got a 10% discount for ordering 60+ days in advance) but they did not have the small water bottles I like, so i'll get those from Prime now
