I hope this is the correct forum.
Thought ordering your own groceries would fit budgeting

Our plane does not arrive till 8:30 PM give or take
The we get our own luggage and go to DME - so maybe not at Pop Century (a value) till 10 PM

This is our first time at a value .... with that said, I read only one bell hop and only 1 luggage rack
Is that true .... Can we borrow a luggage rack and then bring it back to the lobby area ?
Does Pop have more than one luggage rack ?

But, back to my original question... Garden Grocer - What do they pack the food it ?
Boxes ? Paper bags? Plastic bags (a no-no in my area) ? Reusable bags - best for us - can they do that ?

Also since we arrive late - Should we ask for the 4 PM - 9 PM Garden Grocer drop off on our day of arrival ?
There will be no refrigerator nor alcoholic items

Then how do we move our luggage, case of water and other items from Garden Grocer to our room ?

Pop Century is a value, not a deluxe. A deluxe has more than one luggage rack and they let them use it to go to your room and then bring it back. What about Pop Century ?
Are we asking to much of a value resort ?
WDW help desk said POP has luggage racks and I assume there will be one on a Saturday night between 10 Pm and 11 PM
We would like all our stuff in our room - maybe not unpacked - when we arrive

Garden Grocer uses brown paper bags, at least they have when I have used them. I would plan on moving your own luggage to your room, and having someone at the resort bring up your garden grocer order.

We used instacart this last time i met the driver in the parking lot after talking to them through a text. they helped me carry it to the room. Gave him a cash tip on top of the few i posted on the app.

I think Garden Grocer is more reputable than any individual who signs up for Instacart

Maybe we will pack in our plane take on bag 2 reusable grocery bags to move some paper bag grocery items into them in the lobby
Easy to carry the reusable grocery bag - or hang them on the luggage cart

During the week we could put our dirty laundry in the reusable grocery bags and bring them to the laundry room to wash them :)
Then ditch the reusable grocery bags before we go home - they only cost $1 in our area

Pop has more than one luggage cart (although they may or may not allow guests to borrow one) and more than one lLggage Assistance CM.Whoever told you that was either pulling your leg or ridiculously misinformed. I mean, if you think about it - one luggage cart and one CM for 2,880 rooms?

Now, granted, there may be minimal staffing and a dearth of assistance on the overnight shift so, yes, you should plan to transport it all yourself. Likely they will loan you a luggage cat; please return it right away.

Probably best worked out with Garden Grocer. The bags, too. By the way, at 8:30 or so, youre well within the DME luggage window.

If our plane lands at MCO at 8:30 am
I assume with DME, we may be at our resort by 10 PM ? 10:30 PM ?

IF we use the tags, the luggage maybe sorted and off the plane by 9:15 PM
WDW picks ups all tagged luggage at 10 PM to be sorted in their facility

With a 9 PM start time. for luggage delivery
3 hours = knock on our door at midnight o deliver our luggage ?
5 hour = 2 AM knock on our door to deliver our luggage ?

Do you think with a plane landing about 8:30 PM - we would get our luggage delivered at midnight ? I would consider letting WDW then deliver our luggage - but after midnight, no way.

I think I'd rather tip the DME bus drive $5 to put our 2 suitcases under the bus
Arrive at POP with our luggage, carry-ons, and get our Garden Grocer stuff at 10:30 PM

Does POP have great lighting on the paths and identification of the buildings?
We have never stayed there.

If no luggage rack is available.....
We could walk to our room with our luggage and carry-ons, and maybe some of our Garden Grocer items. Then go back to Guest Services and get the rest of our Garden Grocer stuff and DH carry's our water bottles.
We would be in bed by mid-night.
First day, Sunday, in WDW, maybe be an afternoon in EPCOT with a 10 am wake up
We could do breakfast in our room - after showers.
I am sure the SKYLINER does not have long lines from POP at 11:30 am

Where do you recommend an early dinner in EPCOT on day one ?

Ow, so much wrong info.

If DME picks up your luggage, the rule of thumb is it will arrive about three hours after you arrive at your resort. Ours has never taken that long. If you want to take the time at the airport to pick up your own luggage, go ahead. It will be a very long walk from baggage claim to DME.

Garden Grocer does not deliver at 10:30pm. They don't deliver past 9pm, so you'll either have to have your order delivered the next day or pick it up at Bell Services.

Just to warn you, one trip I arrived late at CSR. It was around Midnight, and I had purposely placed a Garden Grocer order so we would have a bit of food upon arrival. They would not let me take it to my room myself, and then they gave me the runaround with delivery until at 1:30 am I agreed to let them bring it the next day. I was not a happy camper.

This was our experience at OKW and our arrival time wasn't even that late. Prob 7 pm landing and 9ish check in. I was prepared with a small bag of clothes in a carry on but our big luggage had the coffee which I desperately need first thing in the morning. I wasn't expecting them to put off our food delivery until morning. Had I known, I may have packed differently.
