Garden Grocer - alcohol? and other ??'s

I could have sworn I had heard people say they had ordered alcohol from Garden Grocer, but I am not seeing wine or beer or anything available on their website. Was I mistaken? Was there some other grocery delivery service I am mixing it up with?

Also, we are arriving after 10pm on our first night. Is it reasonable to have our groceries delivered that day, since it would have to sit in storage so long? I know people say they are kept cool somehow, but I am not sure if this is true all the time? Our trip is in December, so keeping things from weeping all over the place is more possible, at least! But if we have dairy delivered...

Is there a way to tell them we are arriving later and to get the latest possible delivery time to help in this?

Of course the other option is to have it delivered the next day, but that being our first full day, I imagine we will be out all day anyway, so similar issue! LOL

Any advice from previous grocery delivery folks?

You can order alcohol. You just need to add it in the comments section on the order form or you can call them to have them add it to your order. Guest services will keep your cold items in a fridge until you arrive, so you don't need to worry about that.

That's a tough one on the alcohol. We can't possibly know what they carry. We tend to like having cider and some nice wine in the room, and not all grocery places carry it, or the brands we would be interested in.

Sorry to hijack thread...but my search for grocery delivery didn't work. Is Garden Grocery the best place to order food, or is there another local grocery that delivers (seems I remember hearing about one). Basically just looking for fruit, bkfast items, yogurt, and some snacks. Thanks.

May I ask when the best time to order before you arrive??

I just placed an order with Garden Grocer on Monday for our upcoming trip on Nov. 9th, and included alcohol in the order.


In the Special Instructions, I added my alcohol requests. Once I "clicked" the order button, I went ahead and emailed them regarding the alcohol purchases, and included the Order Number in the subject line. We've been corresponding back and forth on the order (via email) and I was told how much the items will be, and also told someone would be calling me a few days prior to finalize the payment for the alcohol portion.


As for delivery times, I attempted to select a timeframe after we arrived at our hotel that day, but the computer defaulted to 8-10am (we actually arrive at 3pm). That's fine with me, as long as they keep my cold items cold; the way I understand it, the order will be placed with Bell Services who will bring the order to our room after we've checked in.
