I currently have a reservation for both places and need to only pick one. I want a good balance between atmosphere, experience and food. It will be me, my husband and our 2 boys who will be 2 and 4 when we go. Which would you choose?

Garden Grill! Plus it has characters. Coral Reef has gone downhill food-wise recently and you can still see the tanks of fish and whatnot if you ride Nemo (you exit through a big area of glass tanks). We've spent an hour or so just hanging out there after Nemo, it's nice.

I really don't think you can go wrong with either...Garden Grill has Chip & Dale which is just so cool and fun for the kids (plus it revolves which is pretty awesome) :goodvibes but Coral Reef has the amazing fish tank which keeps kids pretty riveted...they almost forget to eat. ;)

Coral Reef felt a bit more "upscale" to me and I might be more concerned about making sure the kids are well-behaved when dining here compared to Garden Grill...not sure why really because they're both "family" restaurants. :confused3

Although I will say that when we went to CR there hardly and really young kids...whereas Garden Grill has lots since you get the character interaction. But really you can't go wrong with either of them in my opinion.

I would also mention that the food is pretty different at each of them so check out the menus on-line to make sure they have something you all like. :cutie:

Good luck deciding! :goodvibes

Been to Garden Grill and the kids LOVED it... chip and dale and the fact that the restaurant moves !!

For me, it would depend upon what else you have scheduled for the week. If you don't have other character meals, I'd go with GG. If you have several other character meals, I'd do CR.

GG will be fun for the kids, but I really didn't care for the food selections. Don't get me wrong; they were NOT bad. It just wasn't what I'd normally order at a restaurant and it didn't appeal to me. BUT, it was well-prepared and good.

i agree with other posters - either would be fine, but for the ages of your boys i think they'd like garden grill better.

I'd say whatever you do, do not cancel your Garden Grill ADR...you may have a very hard time getting it back if you change your mind. Coral Reef, on the other hand, will probably be easy to rebook.
I recommend Garden Grill based on the ages of your children...so I'd cancel the Coral Reef ressie.

GARDEN GRILL!!!!:thumbsup2

We just ate there and it was one of our faves!! We hated CR...

GG! We have been to both and the kids enjoyed both but overall the food was better at GG, it had characters, and I was more relaxed as I wasn't overly worried about the kids demeanor vs. CR.

Thank you all for your replies. I canceled my Coral Reef reservation and kept our Garden Grill one! :)

GG is a great place, Our kids always enjoy there time there every year. Nothing like haveing Chip and Dale sitting with kids at table and not feeling rushed. Our last 2 visits to CR we felt food has gotten worse so we go elsewhere to replace our second dinning night in Epcot.

GG for sure especially with the kids. CR has the fish tank but it gets a little boring after a while. The food at both is good but GG is a different experience. Both cost about the same but the characters make GG more entertaining. I think it's one of the best character meals quite frankly and the food is quite good, you won't leave hungry and the kids will be happy with the food choices there.:thumbsup2 Chip and Dale are lots of fun, sometimes they'll sit down and color with the kids.;) (depending on how busy it is) and sometimes they make a 2nd round.
