Garden Grill no longer a character meal

I just read...and please let it not be true, that in October Garden Grill will no longer be a character meal. This was one of our families favorite character meals. We are going back in '09 and was already disappointed to see that they weren't serving cornbread anymore. Last time we were there, I swear me and the kids ate our weight in it. Now if they were to take away Chip and Dale...well, I just don't know what I would do.

No, GG and Liberty Tree Tavern will no longer be character meals. It is true...sorry.

There are still characters at dinner. I don't believe lunch will be offered at all.

I'm pretty bummed about this too. We just did GG the other night, and although I miss the old bread, the new oatmeal bread is really, really tasty too. It was hard to resist second helpings of the apple dessert.

But I love the character interaction there and will be sorry to see it go, even if they keep the yummy food. For some reason it feels a little more relaxed than some of the other character meals. There's always quality time, and last time we not only saw all four characters but saw three of them a second time before we left.

You are correct. No more lunch at all, but still the same character dinner.

I am just back from WDW myself so I may have missed something but I thought only the GG LUNCH was dxed as a character meal but dinner still would be?

We went to Disney for the 1st time last week & did several character meals. My husband & I both thought this one was the most relaxed & enjoyable. Our kids loved it also. We ate at lunch. I hope it will not make it harder to get a resv. or you feeling rushed at the meal once it's cut to just one character meal a day.

GG is only losing its characters at lunch. I think LTT is losing their characters completely. I thought that was happening to LTT in November. I do know that I have ADRs for both in October and both will have characters for dinner.

GG will no longer serve lunch at all. Only dinner will be served, characters will remain for the dinner.

LTT will remove characters @ Dinner so they will have both lunch & dinner with no characters.

LTT is removing their characters for dinner effective January 5, 2009. Reports are that the menu and the price will remain the same.

Effective October 5, 2008, Garden Grill will no longer serve lunch.

I have a friend who had an ADR for Lunch at Garden Grill in late October. She was disappointed with the change mid year for lunch.

I called a couple of days ago to get a lunch ADR for GG for our free dining trip in Nov. The CM told me lunch was not going to be available anymore so I made a dinner ADR and asked her if the characters were going to be the same. She said yes, but subject to change (as they say about all character meals).

I also tried to get an ADR for dinner at LTT but they were all booked up. I'm disappointed they won't have characters there anymore because we really liked it there for dinner.
