Garden Grill Dilema

I currently have lunch booked at the Garden grill for our upcoming Oct trip. We will be celebrating DS's 9th bday (which is actually happening on this trip) there and was planning to order him a cake.

Now I have been reading sooooo many bad reviews on the GG and I even browsed their menu to see that I personally am not going to like it as there are 2 entrees that I would even consider eating. I am super hesitant to even go there now. We always loved the GG.

I really want to celebrate his bday with a character lunch and we will be at Epcot that day and some of the other members of our party who are joining us do not have hoppers so going somewhere else isn't really an option. Going to another park besides Epcot really isn't either as our MK days are booked with LTT/MNSSHP and Chef Mickeys for bfast.

Do you have any suggestions for a character lunch in Epcot? I am thinking there are none besides GG and the princess one (remember he is a boy). Or of any other place to eat that would be just as fun but maybe not GG.

One of the terrible reviews of GG you may have read was mine. However, my complaints were mostly about the terrible service we had both times we went. The food was actually quite good. Keep in mind that this was all before the rehab of The Land building with the addition of Soarin'.

I, too, can't think of any other character meals in EPCOT except for those two.

Other than that, you might consider going to one of the resorts for a character breakfast. Your friends can come with you and you can go back into EPCOT after the meal. Cape May has a character breakfast at BC. I'm just afraid you won't find many other choices for a character lunch. GG is the only one I know of, actually, at least in EPCOT.
