We haven't eaten here in 6 years. Just made a PS for lunch in July. How is it here for lunch? The food on Deb Willis' site looks good but would like to hear from someone recently there. Any thought?

Garden Grill was awesome. we ate there less then 2 years ago though for the second time. The good food (quantity and quality) was excellent. I highly recommend this restaurant. THe scenery is beautiful and its cool how the room spins (slowly).
:smooth:

Thanks for the quick replies! I'm sure we're going to enjoy it alot. We're taking my 10 year old nephew for his first time ever to WDW and decided to make this another character meal. I know he'll love it.

Thanks again!!

The character interaction there is wonderful! It is my favorite for characters. We don't have kids and the characters didn't make me feel uncomfortable at all. Actually, they played with us a little. For some reason at least one always likes to sneak up on my huband. Last time they stole his hat!

We ate at Garden Grill for the first time in early March and really enjoyed it. We were actually surprised at how much we enjoyed the food...it was really good! The characters were also great....especially chip and dale...one of them sat down at our table (just me and DH) and started digging through our bags, found DH's hat and put it on his head. It was so funny! I was sitting w/ my back to the characters so when they'd come to our table they'd always surprise me.

We are at the GG last summer and really enjoyed it. Food was lovely and character interaction was superb. It is very cool eating at this restaurant because it moves whilst you are eating. I know that some people have posted onm this site that it made them very queasy but we were all fine.

We love the Garden Grille are are going to try to make it a "regular" stop. The food (not sure if it's the same as when you had it) but it starts out with bread and salad with veggies from The Land. Then they bring out a big skillet with steak, chicken, fish, more veggies from The Land, stuffing, potatoes and it's all you can eat. Then they bring out a dessert ~ this changes but it is very good. We just went in August and the food was great and the character interaction was wonderful!

We were just there in early May of this year. the characters were wonderful with my two little ones! The food was pretty good, I wouldn't say it was the best I've ever had but I liked it. the strawberry shortcake was very good! We had a terrible server so it may have tainted my review. We asked for seconds and didn't get them until 1/2 hour had past and by that time we were ready to have dessert and go! (My kids are 1 and nearly 3 so we didn't have a lot of time to sit and wait! LOL! ) She also had a grumpy attitude. I would try it again though b/c I did see many smiling servers and the characters were really wonderful at this restaraunt.

We always eat at the Garden Grill. The food has always been great. We were told the menu changes some each season, but it has always been wonderful. The characters are always attentive and they are there the whole time we eat. My brother is a special needs adult and they treated him very good. He loves the interaction with all the characters.

We finally tried this restaurant in Jan for the first time and were pleasently surprised. It was our first night of vacation and we LOVED this place. had a great time with the characters and enjoyed peeking at the land as we pasted. we will definatly go back!

We've eaten here countless times in the last 2 years and love it. The food has always been excellent. The character interaction is great (I think it's one of the best here out of all of the character meals). The service has ALMOST always been great too.

The only disppointment we had this past time (he he) was when we went in February, they had this incredible chocolate tart thing for dessert (they never had it all the other times we were there so they had to go and spoil me that trip), well they didn't have it this past trip, boo hoo. Most people like strawberries and that seems to be the most common dessert. I'm a chocoholic and that chocolate tart thing was unbelievable! I was bummed they didn't have the last time around (but it was probably better that they didn't -he he-)

You should have a great experience in July, and one recommendation, we always ask for the lower level, more spacious and scenic:p ENJOY!!!:p

I love the Garden Grill and I plan to either visit it with the Candlelight Processional Package or another day during my stay. I loved all of the food and the characters were the best.

We tried the GG two years ago for the first time and loved it. As previously stated, the food is terrific and the character interaction is the best. My son has been to every character breakfast/dinner, and the one he talks about all the time is the GG. I recommended it to my sister for her last trip and she gave it a whirl . When we were planning the trip for this AUgust, it came out as her family's top choice and mine as well. Great find!

This sounds good. Do you think it's possible to be seated without a PS in July? Or is it one of those places where it's not even worth trying if you haven't booked?

I don't plan on making any international calls to make PS, we are just winging it as we are staying offsite.

I wouldn't bother with making an international call. My family and I have always had great luck with getting a table. Twice we have actually just gone up at lunch and asked if they had a table left and both times we were seated within 15 minutes. I hope you enjoy GG as much as my family does!!!!!!!;)

They have always had a few empty tables when we were there. So it shouldn't be a problem for you to get one.

Even though you are staying off-site in the mornings when you arrive at the parks you can go to Guest Relations to make any priority seatings that you want. On your first day there you can make them for your entire trip.

When we were there in February over President's Day weekend we tried to get in on a Friday night for dinner without PS. They had nothing, all of the full service EPCOT restaurants were completely booked.

Since July is a busy time what I would recommend is to plan to dine there a few days into your trip and just try to make PS when you arrive in WDW. You should be able to get something for lunch or dinner a day or two out. You can dial *88 from any payphone in any WDW park and it will connect you to WDW reservations/dining so if you plan to go to MK your first day or something like that, just do that.

This place sounds great...I think we will definately try it. Is this also the place that does the "rehitching ceremony"? I think that would be a cool little surprise for my hubby.

Do they do the character meal for lunch? That's when I would like to go. Our trip is in December.

Ate lunch there on Wednesday. Very good food.
We walked up to the podium around 12:45 - asked if we could get a table and were told they were only seating folks with a PS. I called WDW-DINE on my cell and was able to make a PS for 1:40. We went and saw food rocks, looked around the shop, went back upstairs around 1:25 and were seated immediately.
